  • Indiana Jones Adventure is one of the world's best dark rides. This ride features grand set-pieces, elaborate special effects, and turbulent motion effects. The latter is achieved by the enhanced motion vehicle (EMV), which is basically a motion simulator on a track. Temple of the Forbidden Eye is located and Disneyland and Temple of the Crystal Skull is located at Tokyo DisneySea. This video discusses the differences between versions and what has changed since opening.

    As someone who grew up in Southern California, I can confirm that the hype for this ride when it first opened was insane.

      The hype was real on the East Coast too.

    I had to be evacuated off of the Disneyland version due to a breakdown! It was weird seeing the rock fly backwards 😂

    This along with Tower of Terror are the single greatest rides Disney has ever created. Both offer amazing theming and thrills combined. Never get tired of riding Indiana Jones!

      Rise of the Resistance, Radiator Springs Racers, and Splash Mountain are up there too.

      What’s incredible to me is the original versions of each ride came out within a year of each other.

    This was the last ride my friend & I did on my day there, and there was almost no wait, even though other rides had very long waits still. He's been to the park many times, but it was his first time riding it. I had no idea what it did either, but I loved it. The motion was a bit too much for him though. I can appreciate what the ride did, even though I don't care for Indiana Jones. Still, a dark ride with a theme that I can personally connect with more (Dinosaur/Avatar/Harry Potter) will always be ahead of dark rides with themes that I have no interest in (Star Wars/Indiana Jones), even if those are more complex.

      That's fair that a theme you like can play an impact in your love of the attraction. That's why I love this and Rise of the Resistance so much. But I can also appreciate a great ride even if I hate the theme.

    It is/was one of the best rides in Disneyland. I haven't been there since forever and a day so I dunno if it has changed.

    Who else gets so excited when canobie coaster posts. Also where does canobie come from, it sounds cool though.

    Wow fantastic comprehensive review! Disneyland was my home park when this ride opened in the 90s. I was a kid but that ride was so much better than anything else I had been on. Batman The Ride at SFMM had also just opened (SFMM was also nicer and better themed then), and then Jurassic Park at Universal opened a year later, there was a lot going on.
    I haven’t been able to ride it as much since, but usually whenever anyone asks what my favorite overall ride is, it’s this one. Maybe if I had ridden Twilight Zone in Florida first, the answer would be different haha. Agree about ranking, it’s hard to compare but I think Indy and Twilight Zone are the only two rides I’d consider putting in front of my favorite coasters. Rise, Test Track, and the original Star Tours not too far behind.

    Indi is obviously an elite attraction, but its hard for me to fully enjoy without constantly noticing the insane amount of broken or turned off affects. Its still amazing, no doubt, but its just a bummer it isn't as good as it could be. I also wish it had a tiny bit more thrill like it had back in the day

    • @FanThemePark
      @FanThemePark 4 месяца назад +1

      Dude you have to go back to Disneyland and ride it. Most of the effects are working now after the big refurbish last year.

    • @RankingTheMouse
      @RankingTheMouse 4 месяца назад

      @FanThemePark I'm at Disneyland every month. I've ridden it probably 15 times since the refurb last year. The major affects from opening haven't been working in over a decade

      @CanobieCoaster  4 месяца назад

      I agree it's a bummer not everything works, but a majority of scenes have some sort of effect and are engaging.

    Got to ride Cali's back when it had the wilder movements, but I was a scrawny 7 year old in the middle seat with no view getting ragdolled around so I wasn't even able to enjoy it lmao

    I love the Indy ride at Disneyland 🏰 my home park! 😊💜 But, it is not favorite, at the parks (Disneyland and DCA). It is my soon to be 21yr old kiddo's favorite ride! lol Because I am disabled, I almost always get the seat, with the Steering wheel, which I love! It gives me something to hold onto, so my back doesn't get injured! But, it also makes for comic relief! My kiddos, says, out loud, for everything, in the ride vehicle, to hear..."now Mom, this time, try not to drive this thing, like a crazy person!" I say, "I will try not to." Then, when the ride gets really crazy, and shaking us around, my kiddo yells..."Mom, I asked you, not to drive so nuts!" Other people in the vehicle are laughing!! I yell back, "I am trying not to, but there are bugs! or I say, there are flying darts!" Our banter often gets everyone in our vehicle, in on the fun! 😅 I have a lot of great memories of, going on this ride, with my hubby, kiddo, and best friend, with complete strangers, and having a ball!! 😊 💜 💜 💜 💜

    I've always felt let down in the blowdart hallway, it just looks like cheap paintings on a flat wall, and air is just randomly spurting at you? Everything else on this ride is amazing though

    I like dinosaur better. It use to scare the sht out of me when the car stalled out in front of the massive dinosaur.

    • @CanobieCoaster

      That one is definitely scarier, but I much prefer Indy.

  • @thefergyfilms
    @thefergyfilms 4 месяца назад +2

    My hot take is that I think Dinosaur is better. The darker lighting hides the completely flat track which I think ruins the offroading effect on Indiana Jones, and the story using a countdown element makes the ride feel way more purposeful and intense.
