I am fairly new to this and have had my xTool D1 Pro 20W for a about 4 months now and have managed to get some amazing result already. I have been lacking the ability to do much on metals especially Aluminium and Copper and brass as i wanted to engrave for my family's upcoming wedding next 2024. I love what this can do and will look to invest in around early New Year perhaps this as it does all that I need it to do on metals. Love this video as it was very comprehensive and showed the benefits of using this module on some stuff without having to change the laser heads around which can help with continuity of workflow. Well done JT for producing this video and thanks xTool for another amazing product.

Very impressive with this new module. I started with XTool 10W, then with 20W, then with Pro, and now you guys kill me with this new module. This XTool is like a drug, i m start being addicted to it. What I really wanted to do is working on transparent acrylic, doing the three sheets RGB engraving to make a 3D color effect. This module would save me a lot of hours doing this what I want to do. Thank you XTool. Faithfully Franco

Wow! I can remove the rust from all of my tools that the kids and grandkids have left out in the weather.
Metal, plastics and more will be within my reach once I get this new module. I've been able to cut and engrave just about everything else. I hope that I am lucky enough to win one of these. I am retired on a fixed income from Social Security and VA disability which makes every one of these purchases an event.
Maybe they would let me do a video when I get it. :)
I really love the D1 Pro and RA2 Pro roller/chucked unit which let me expand my engraving capabilities.
Xtool keeps raising the bar on these smaller laser machines that are actually affordable and way more solid than the other brands. The thought and great engineering put into every one of their products is impressive.

Wanting one is pretty much as natural as wanting a next breath! given the stools RA2 module and large work area this makes the combination a compelling proposition.
The video did a good job setting IR and blue laser capabilities as it was able to highlight drawbacks of the blue wavelength which is usually somewhat avoided by most reviewers.
aside from the obvious creative uses I think there is a lot of need for security marking, and I would definitely be labelling all my power supplies with the device name they are meant to be paired with.

This module indeed looks awesome, considering alternative of very expensive fiber laser machine. The “cleaning capabilities” also look awesome. The ability of engraving brass materials gives great possibilities to small businesses to help out big ones - I.e. imagine that some companies manufacturing huge laser cutting machines are struggling with engraving replacement parts they manufacture, small business would not have to invest huge amounts of money to get contracts to do the job…

    Nice addon!
I would first buy an xtool laser to begin with and then use the IR for acrylic.
Also I would experiment with lasering pieces with resin in.

Great product. I currently own both a D1 and D1 Pro as well as a 60 watt CO2. I am very excited about the prospects of engraving aluminum and brass. Keep up the good work!

@Doug Taylor I am looking to invest in my first laser. The largest work area possible is important to me as well as being able to cut/engrave wood and clear acrylic. I was thinking of getting the D1 Pro with extended frame, infrared module, enclosure, etc... (basically all the bells and whistles for about $3K. But since you own both the D1 Pro and a 60W... I'd like your opinion. Which route should I go?

@@arbella89 Great question. A diode laser is not the best for efficient production. It's a great supplement. For your first laser I recommend looking at Thunder laser for a CO2 model that fits your budget and needs. The D1 Pro is a slow and limited cutter.

it's absolutely crazy there on the Black acrylic
also aluminum, I will try to make some front plates for the elevator floor push buttons if I had such an infrared laser

We use a normal Pantagraph for engraving customer items, eg rings necklaces, dog tags brass plaques and other items including name badges. I would be excited to try out the IR Laser in the business to personalize gifts.

I would use this laser to do intricate engravings on brass pieces. The ability to use it on brass and copper, as well as aluminum, is a complete game changer for a hobby shop.
