- I finally got around to adding insulation and drywall to the shop. It was built sometime last year, and I moved in immediately without finishing it. Winter and spring were lovely here in Texas, and I enjoyed spending time in the shop. However, the summer heat was brutal, so I moved all my tools out and hired a crew to finish it up. They installed foam insulation in the ceiling and RC15 in the walls. The drywall was painted a very bright white, and it looks fantastic.
Recently, my neighbor's house caught on fire. I woke up at 5 a.m. to the sound of yelling outside. When I went to the backyard to investigate, I saw smoke and flames. Fortunately, no one was in the burning house, and everyone is fine. The shop is also unharmed.
