  • It took Riversong Guitars Founder Mike Miltimore six years and hundreds of failures to develop a revolutionary guitar design that rewarded him with the prestigious international Dealer's Choice Award from the renowned Musical Merchandise Review Magazine (MMR). Growing up in the family music store (Lee's Music) in Kamloops, BC, Mike learnt how to build guitars from his father, Lee Miltimore. Mike's mother, Rose Miltimore, can attest that those two have a unique relationship that greatly impacted Mike's journey.

Mike's remark that it's OK to fail, if you don't fail you're not trying to succeed very hard, will stick with me forever. Fear of failure has been holding me back musically. That ends today. Thanks Mike, and my congratulations and very best wishes to you.

THIS DUDE ROCKS! I met Mike in 2017 at NAMM and I must say he is an absolutely incredible individual. He was warm and welcoming and made sure to take some time to answer my questions about his guitars. I had the pleasure of playing a few and even got to experience the 2P GA Stage Triple Play guitar. I have to say after experiencing the quality and beauty of his guitars it has become a life goal to own one. Congrats Mike you deserve this award and many more!

where i thought if i used really heavy electric strings, really high out put pickups, and an impedance matching transformer, that i could directly drive a guitar mounted speaker..
the battery-less self contained electric was pretty much a failure.( not as loud as an acoustic, so good thing it was just a bunch of Math )

  • @tribulationcoming

This is wonderful and truly a great accomplishment. The innovations and ideas begin with the ability to think freely and allow imagination to produce something new and extraordinary, not highly complex, but a unique and simplistic in design. Minor changes have made major differences. I write songs and play a little and can appreciate this achievement. There is someone I know, Johnny Rushing, many years ago I bought one of his handmade guitars and know what it take to make such an instrument. One can hear only what the instrument is able to produce and that is what judges the craftsmanship. And item of athletics both with the look and the sound.

@@leofriedwald9901 That was certainly disappointing. Also for a video about music, ie. sound, the mix should have had the unrelated background music toned down. The voices were competing with it. Go quieter and with something melodic, not so percussive. Or none at all - there you go! :)

Reminds me of the construction of my 1969 Fender Villager 12 string acoustic. It had a bolt-on electric 12 string neck, an acoustic body, a heel block, a block at the bottom of the body, and a metal pipe that ran the full length of the body from the heel to the bottom of the guitar, connecting the two blocks.
