Congratulations on your new harp! And what a beautiful piece for your first recording with this harp. Look forward to seeing what adventures you are going to have with your pedal harp! :)
Thanks so much Victoria, I love it already! I had to pick a piece that didn't have any pedal changes, I'm not confident enough to do those in a piece yet. I had my first "Pedal Training" this weekend, I was assured it's a learning process and I'll get there.
Thanks so much Deedee. It's definitely an adjustment switching from a lever harp but it's well worth it. Hopefully I'll be able to share more harp songs soon!
It's been interesting getting used to how different it is. The first few days, it was like I couldn't play anything at all but it's coming slowly. The pedals are still intimidating but it'll come with time :D
I really like this version of The Nightingale as well… have t played it in awhile. I wa s wondering if you have recorded or if you would - Angels Hymn by Rhett Barnwell. It would be amazing on your harp🦋
Thank you ! It’s lovely. I actually play a Heartland harps full size carbon fiber harp. However, I’ve been entrusted with a 3/4 size harp which has no levers but huge beautiful tone! From a mother church! Long story short the man who played the harp was totally blind! And this gentleman has passed on and the harp languished in his church a year or year and a half! One day that pastor contacts where I just started going to church 6! Weeks ago and asks this pastor if he’s like to have a harp for church !!the new pastor said if you’d asked me 6 weeks ago I would ay I don’t know anyone who plays harp🙏! So here we are … I’ve cleaned strings harp inside and out tuning pins polished and probably have tuned this little girl 2 times every day… and what a voice! It literally rivals my big harp! I have recently found your RUclips channel and enjoy it , thank you!🦋
@@pjstpierre2340 Oh that's amazing! I was able to play for a community event last Christmas. It's such a special feeling to play for others. It's amazing how this harp has found it's way to you
My speakers are not the best, but I think the microphone is too close for the bass notes, making them too loud. Experiment with your mike placement and perhaps you can get a more ballanced sound. It is a lovely harp that would no doubt sound very full in a concert hall.
Yes, definitely a bit of trial and error in regards to mic placement. It sounds okay on my headphones but I think having the mic farther away should help clear that issue. Fingers crossed!
Wow how peaceful!
Thanks so much!
Excellently performed!
Thanks so much Sharon, I saw your last update video, I hope you're on the mend!
I also play this piece! You are progressing really fast! I love your new harp. I play a Lyon & Healy 1937 style 15.
It's such a great piece isn't it? I love the Style 15, one of my teacher's students has one and I was able to hear it at a mini recital.
Wow! Impressive.
Thanks, this was before realizing how much harder it is to record a pedal harp than recording a lever harp.
Wow this a great!
Thanks!
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice, great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice

Oh wow how magical, did you choose a name for this beauty yet?
I did! I decided on Artemis
Where can I get the sheet music for this for a lever harp?

It really is!
So beautiful! Enjoy your new harp! Many many hours of happy adventuring together await. And what a lovely way to begin with such an iconic harp piece!
Thank you so much! I really love how this piece turned out. The harp and I have a lot of getting to know each other, planned.

Nice tone. I love the sound of your new harp.
Thanks so much Dorothy! It took some getting used to but I'm enjoying learning the nuisances of this harp
It sounds so beautiful. I love your new harp it plays beautifully. I can't wait to hear more music from you. Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks so much Steph! Definitely still in the "getting to know each other" phase but it's going well!
So great, thanks for sharing this. Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That is such a pretty piece, and you and your new harp did a lovely job of playing it.

This is beautiful. Your harp sound gorgeous. I suggest the name Daphne.
Thanks so much Gwyneth, I had thought of Daphne too, I definitely like the name (especially after watching Bridgerton)!
Wow it’s so nice and sounds so good!
Thanks so much Tiffany!
It sounds wonderful! Looking forward to seeing where the pedal harp takes you :D It took me a few month to get used to using my feet!

One of my favourite, you played so beautiful. She has three levels with her sheet music, which one is this?
One of my favourites too! I believe this is the simple version.

This is the first time I’ve heard Angel’s Hymn, what a beautiful song. I can definitely try to learn and record it
