    The golf leaf on the covers kinda looks like ancient runes, which really adds to the aesthetic. Nice work!

    Your tooling is so clean! Also, your endbands are very nice. Any chance you'll sew french doubles? I can't wrap my head around them. Beautiful work!

      Hi, thank you! The initial idea was all three of them to have different endbands. One of them had a french double, but I changed my mind after the third one. It was an islamic chevron, but was much bigger than the other two, so I just cut the chevron and the double french and sew a single cord ones for all of them. I will soon be uploading a book repair video and I will probably go with a french double there :)

    Great video! Is the embossing on the hot foil require any glair beneath? Thanks

    • @bookshelfiv2537
      @bookshelfiv2537  2 года назад

      Hi, hot foil does not require anything additional, egg glair should be applied for gold leaf

    Beautiful work. I love the finished book. Are you going to add a title to it?

    • @bookshelfiv2537
      @bookshelfiv2537  3 года назад +1

      Thank you! They have no titles, the pages inside are blank and I don’t have a typeface

      @colinsmith6116 3 года назад

      @@bookshelfiv2537 I understand. I am a very amateur bookbinder myself and I also do not have typeface. In my life it is too expensive to purchase all that creates titling, so I see where you are coming from. Great work though.

      @@bookshelfiv2537 На углах кожу заворачиваете неумело : должна быть не накладка, а стык. Если точно и аккуратно разрезать накладку кожи, то получается почти незаметный стык. Как сделать? Могу показать, лучше в ватсапе, если оворите по-русски. Аглицкого как-то не довелось изучить... С уважением, Валерий А.
