Absolutely! All slow speed machines will have a diameter fluctuation and non-round geometry problems with PLA be it with super closed loop control like ProtoCycler or not. Even more problems If you try to add any coloring pellets (and I mean top quality ones from top manufacturers) - it will get out of hand completely. There are so many causes for that, that there is no way to make a quality cheap machine to counter all the issues. I have spent a lot of time studying (I have solid scientific and technical competences), building and testing slow speed extrusion lines and finally came to a conclusion that anything below 5-8K EUR is not enough to build a small scale feasable solution. And when you spend such amount you either have to start a filament manufacturing busines or you have to have essential 3D printing busines to better your financial bottom line. I have ended up finding a local quality manufacture and now buy material with +_ 0,03 max diameter deviation and perfect filament diameter for 16EUR/KG (PLA).
Extruder looks great and compact but after testing of several similar desktop filament making machines I am more than sure it will be not possible to keep diameter tolerance of the filament for the whole spool. It must be measured and checked automatically not manually! I am sorry but this machine has a big potential but unfortunatelly I see it useless for the moment.

But anyway If there is need to make few meters of filament than its much more than suitable for that price but if somone wants to make 400 m of filament (approx 1kg spool) than I am more than convinced it will be not suitable. But I agree, machine looks ok and its working. Guys made good job ;)
@@peterkovalcik1848 You mistaken. I think, manual measurement were made just for demonstration. During calibration you will be able to reset 2 regulators to have better quality)) that is why he made this manually

Okay undarstand thank you. So with temperature Up to 300C and 150Watt gear Motor your machine should be okay with PLA, ABS, PP and HDPE right ? By the way, this is the best all in one solution at this price Point i have Seen right now on the Market !

Looks a bit like slip-stick. Maybe a magnetic slip clutch will help :)
