A little plowing hint from an old timer, in N'Idaho, when you lift your plow at the end of a push, back up just a smidge, before you lift it, that will take the weight of the snow off your winch cable, and you'll have less breakage...
Get 5 feet of 6-8" farm conveyer belt and add it to the top of the plow blade. Its a game changer. way less snow coming over the top. conveyer belt is available at the farm and fleet stores by the foot.
Hey thanks for watching. Sorry the quality was so bad on the one. First video I ever made. My newer stuff is a lot better. I have another video dedicated to the Polaris Ranger and my thoughts on it so far.
Good video. I have an 06 Ranger 500. Came with a Polaris Glacier plow. No hydraulic power. Snow sticks hard to the blade and the plow skids are missing. Have to find replacements
I have a yamaha kodiak 450 with rear tire v-bar chains that does a decent job. Machine and plow only weighs 700 pounds. I'd say the 570 is a great work machine. I have a 2016 Yamaha Wolverine 700cc that should be good also at a total weight of 1400 pounds. Have not tried that yet.
I have this exact same machine and plow, ( I eventually put an entire polaris cab and heat in it) I discovered maxxis bighorn tires worked fantastic in new England snow, with long steep driveway. Lots of heavy wet snow past couple years. Got stuck with stock tires a couple of times, got stuck alot with Sedona ripsaw tires, (which surprised me). (Also a 1-1/2" lift helped.)
With the windshield, I know the cab isn't heated but does the snow and snow dust stick or melt on the windshield making it tough to see through without a wiper?
It honestly depends on the temperature. If it is less than 28 degrees out it usually just blows right off but if it’s a heavy wet snow it’ll stick and you can just reach around with a glove and wipe it off. It’s not that big of a deal
I have a 2017 570 Midsize and love it. I put a few hundred pounds of sand in the bed and plow. Have pushed up to 24 inches. Do you get frustrated with the buttons on the shifter when not plowing?
Hey Todd thanks for the comment. I’ve gotten used to the buttons being there and it doesn’t bother me but anytime I let somebody else drive it they always reel the winch in or out when shifting from H to L to Reverse. Just takes some getting used to pushing on the shifter from the bottom rather than the top. This was the first video I ever uploaded and it’s pretty crappy quality. I shot it on my iPhone haha. I have since gotten a better camera so my more recent videos with the ranger are a little better. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for making the video I'm actually doing my research now as well I believe that's the model I'm going to get from what I can tell the 570 should be enough horsepower for your average Farm chores just trying to decide now if it's necessary to get with or without the electric power steering, any suggestions ?
So when it comes to power steering I think the biggest difference is you will be forced to always drive with 2 hands. Most of the time it’s not that big of a deal but I do find times where I need one hand on the wheel and 1 hand on something else and turning is very hard with one hand. If your budget allows for power steering I would get it. I do wish I had it probably 30-40% of the time
Chuppster A plow puts a lot of weight out front. If you are just using your machine for trail running and light work, you can get away with no power steering. You will definitely want it for plow work. Many people end up selling their first machines with no power steering, just to upgrade to one that does. Not a tragedy if you don’t have it, but really nice feature when you do.
I'm looking at purchasing a Ranger 570 midsize, and your video was very helpful. Could you please tell me if yours has the power steering or not? There is quite a bit of price difference between the base model 570 and the one with the EPS, which for 2021 is called the 570 Premium. If I can get by without the power steering it would save me a considerable sum. Thank you.
Mine is not power steering and I wish I had it. I would recommend getting it. On a fourwheeler I don’t think they are necessary but on a side by side power steering is a must
I bought it used for $7,500 but I got a great deal from an older gentleman that was moving to Florida. This whole package brand new is probably somewhere around 12,500 if I had to guess
Hey Adam just going to take a stroll along from your first video. I subscribed today because you were on a video with CJ from Mallard5farmhouse. I enjoy these types of videos. Thanks for sharing with us.
Hey Old dawg dreamin. I recognize the names from the shout outs on outdoors with the Morgan’s. Thanks for subscribing. I apologize for the quality of this first video it was the first one I uploaded before I invested in proper filming equipment. I promise it gets better haha. Thanks for joining us!
Yes but it isn’t very heavy. Maybe only 100-125 lbs so if it’s anything more than powder it will likely just skim across the top of it. When I back dragged once I had my buddy stand on top of the plow to add additional weight
Hi, thanks for the video, just bought a Ranger last week and am looking at having a plow installed on it. Also, how did you attach the extra height planks on your box?
I do a good bit of trail riding as well. It has more than enough power. I’ve had 3 full grown men in it on snow covered trails going up steep hills. No problem at all. And you should always plow snow in low gear. You will wear out your belt if you plow in high gear. They actually say if you are under 10 mph you should be in low gear. Unless I’m on the driveway, field or road I’m usually in low gear to try to lengthen the life of the cvt belt
Yeah. Shoveling was fun as a kid, then that got old, Snowblowing was a good time in my early 20’s. Now I’m 27 and plowing is a blast. Makes me look forward to big winter storms. I’m sure at some point I’ll upgrade to a plow on my truck. Also I apologize for the horrible video quality. This was the first video I ever posted. You should check out some of my newer stuff and subscribe. I’ve gotten a lot better and filming and editing
Hey, I found your interview and link on Outdoors w/Morgans and came to check you out. Pretty sure I'm gonna like the content, just can't watch videos w/ black sides.. I seen you fixed it by the end.. No particular reason except for the fact that I paid for a big monitor for my pc, and I don't like wasting screen. :) Pretty sure I'm going to enjoy the vids.. Started with first vid I could find.. so far so good..
Yes our production has gotten a lot better. This was the very first one and the quality was quite poor but I leave it here as a reminder of how far the channel has come. Thanks for watching

From another old timer just raise the blade while still moving you can pile it up high then
Dang that thing moves snow I'm looking at the 570 for cleaning my drive in winter little hunting trail riding thanks for video sold me on it🤘
This is the first video with actual real world application of this vehicle. I might get one.
Get 5 feet of 6-8" farm conveyer belt and add it to the top of the plow blade. Its a game changer. way less snow coming over the top. conveyer belt is available at the farm and fleet stores by the foot.
Also spray your blade with cooking spray. The snow won’t stick to your blade. It’s a game changer!
The guy at dealership told me this unit would not plow the snow good enuf. Thanks for video, still got to do some more research .
found this channel in in 2022, going to restart from the beginning while keeping up with current :)
I'm impressed. Didnt think you'd have the weight/traction to plow that full of a blade. Nice. . .
Wow that thing moving the snow!! REALLY GOOD!! Glad we dont need that kinda tools down here in Northern Alabama...
That s a nice setup. Works well.
We just had few nasty storms this year and now I’m looking at a ranger and reviewing videos for plows. I heard good people think alike !
Thinking about picking up one of these machines and this video was really helpful. Thanks for posting.
Hey thanks for watching. Sorry the quality was so bad on the one. First video I ever made. My newer stuff is a lot better. I have another video dedicated to the Polaris Ranger and my thoughts on it so far.
Throw a couple of sandbags on th back when plowing, gives you more traction and stops the rear from sliding out so much.
Good video. I have an 06 Ranger 500. Came with a Polaris Glacier plow. No hydraulic power. Snow sticks hard to the blade and the plow skids are missing. Have to find replacements
I'm watching your video like a hawk!!!! Looks like I'm buying a 570 ranger!!! With a plow
The chainsaw mount 😎👏👍

Did you do a canvas cab or poly cab. I looked the canvas cab is like $1,000 and the poly cab is like $2,400. It’s soo expensive but I would love it
Still very helpful,
Did you do a video about connecting it an removal from the vehicle?
Cool video. Can you do a video on your side rails?
Thanks for posting, I just bought a Polaris for winter, might get another one cause I’ve got 6 driveways to clear.
Did you get the hydraulic side swivel as well?
With the windshield, I know the cab isn't heated but does the snow and snow dust stick or melt on the windshield making it tough to see through without a wiper?

I put a rubber flap to catch light snow blow over, easy fix
Ever think of throwing a seed spreader in the back to de-ice?
My driveway is crushed stone I wonder how it would be with this?

If you're plowing a gravel driveway, I've heard of guys adding a slit PVC pipe to the bottom of the plow. Anyone know if this works?
Worked good for 10 minutes and then it shattered in the cold. Good concept, but need black steel pipe
Wow, that setup works really well. How long does a tank of fuel usually last when your pushing snow?😊✌
Probably 4-5 hours
@@HometownAcres that's pretty good. Thanks.

Polaris is AMERICAN LOVE IT!!!
Interested in having a blower built for it? I build them light and durable with a honda engine! You in Canada or the USA?
USA. Email me at homeownacres@outlook.com
How much is the price for this kind of set up if you don’t mind me asking
I bought it used for $7,500 but I got a great deal from an older gentleman that was moving to Florida. This whole package brand new is probably somewhere around 12,500 if I had to guess
Nice setup! I’d like to have a side-by-side. And I have to admit I’m jealous of the snow you had!
Thank you. And yes most people try to avoid the snow but we love it. We’re a special breed
Hometown Acres i would love to see that much snow just once a year. We haven’t had measurable snowfall here in at least 3 years.

No apologies needed, you did fine and will get better as you go. Keep up the good work and videos.
how do they do with back dragging
Quick question,Can you back Drag with that thing?
Yes but it isn’t very heavy. Maybe only 100-125 lbs so if it’s anything more than powder it will likely just skim across the top of it. When I back dragged once I had my buddy stand on top of the plow to add additional weight
That's Great! thanks for the info!
what did you use for the sides in back
Pvc pipe, 1x6’s, and bolts, washers and nuts
how wide is the plow
60”
@@HometownAcres I've been considering getting a 72" for my 570. I hear they can handle it. Also if I angle it then I'm still wider than the machine.
Hi, thanks for the video, just bought a Ranger last week and am looking at having a plow installed on it. Also, how did you attach the extra height planks on your box?
Is that enclosed enclosed the video doesn’t show the machine that much
Just a roof and windshield. No doors or back window
Polaris does make doors and back windows. However, the one I drive doesn’t have any heating. Keep that in mind for using in the winter
It appears that the plow is a 66" plow correct?
Hey Raymond Louks yes it is 66” and the ranger 570 midsize is 58” wide so even when the blade is angled it is still wide enough to cover the tires
Do you do any trail riding with it? Do you think it’s under powered at all? Are you plowing in high range or low? It doesn’t seem to struggle at all.
I do a good bit of trail riding as well. It has more than enough power. I’ve had 3 full grown men in it on snow covered trails going up steep hills. No problem at all. Filming hint: landscape mode is your friend.
I have since figured that out. This was my first video. Nice reminder of how far the channel has come since this video
I got a mini truck will a plow and love it.
What do you mean by mini truck? Like a ford ranger?
@@HometownAcres Japanese mini truck. They are like a regular truck. Full hard cab, heat, a/c and 6ft box.

I plow without a windshield.. I have my big girl pants on I guess.
Better to plow with the blade cutting the snow not pushing it
Toss on some tire chains and it'll do even better!
The stock tires that came on it are pretty knobby but at some point I plan to get some real nice aftermarket tires on it
@@HometownAcres true, i put snow chains on my 4 wheeler and it's night and day difference man..
xp900 is much more power than a 570 big difference buddy
I don’t doubt it but the 570 has all the power I need. So it seems unnecessary to spend the extra money
Take the money you saved and enclose your wheeler.
Woth the roof and windshield it’s honestly not that bad. I’d rather put on an extra layer than spend a bunch of money on a cab
