You know you could actually goto the local municipal depot where the snow plows work from and leave them boxes of chocolate or stuff as presents. Even calling/phoning in to thanks the plow driver for their help today. It does help those that are out there ;)
@@twizz420 In many jobs you are not allowed to accept gifts. When I worked with my local authority driving bin trucks and collecting waste in treacherous and difficult circumstances we were offered gifts but were not allowed to accept any. Some did. Some had disciplinary actions. Alcohol is a big no no either for a professional driver. But taking it into the office and asking for them to be thanked for their hard work can be seen as thanks and not payment.
As a former commercial plowing contractor of 30 years...I'd say most would appreciate a fresh cup of coffee or a thermos refill. There were many, many snow events where I hadn't left my truck for 2-5 days straight because that's how long the storms lasted. Even though I'd take a thermos with me, we'd seldom have time to stop at a gas station for a refill during daylight hours. The lines were always too long & waiting in line behind people buying lottery tickets was not an option. I thought I'd miss that job after I finally hung it up...I don't.
@@joshuao322 Up in Canada, A lot of the towns/cities jobs are wage-based, more so the labour jobs. It's really only the office jobs, like a bylaw officer that are salary. Hell, 9 times outa 10 I'd take wage over salary. I assuming it's a bit different in the States?

People just suck. Parked blocking a full driveway for 2 sec to deliver food to the same address. Person comes out whining about their driveway on a busy road. Like lady, your driveway is full and noone is in the cars.. I'm not in anyone's way. I don't feel like getting rear ended cause you want a clear driveway. Plus, city owns the 15 feet off the road anyway so it ain't hers.
As the man said "This guy has skills!" I've done plowing myself, and he took some pains to get it off the road and put it where he could without dumping on everyone's driveway etc. and he got it all cleaned off gud. kudos to this guy. he cares and does a good job. Give that man a raise!.
I’m a plow driver too. Not sure what you mean by could’ve screwed everyone on the street but didn’t! I don’t think he did a good job at all! Should be only 3 passes one pass down the middle with front plow and gutter pass on each side with wing and plow down everyone gets the same amount!
Allen Knoll 3 passes is impossible bud. 1 on the way up,1 on the way down, and if he goes back up for that 3rd pass he has to come back down for a 4th pass to get back out which is what he did.
A big thank you to all plow drivers who do your best to not leave my driveway with a 6’ mountain 🏔 after plowing. The skill and compassion to be kind to us homeowners is commendable. It took him an extra couple minutes but saved what, 6-8 homeowners 30 minutes each of heavy Snowplowing? THANK YOU! 🙏
The thing is, as a snow plow driver myself, snow goes where it needs to go. It happens, people will get over it. He did do a nice “fair” job by placing the piles between driveways but plowing courts is not that difficult to be a world class snow mover. Honestly if he’s city or county, he took too much time. If it’s a private development, he did what was needed.
I live out in the country, NE US, and I don't for a second criticize plow drivers. Our roads are very well plowed and even if I'm out there with my snow blower breaking up the plow glacier at the end of the driveway (because I'm equipped to live out in the country) they still get a wave when they come by.

He definitely knows what he is doing. I'm a newer municipal plow driver and am still learning how to be more efficient at these especially with heavy snow like this. Unforunately, most of the cul-de-sacs on my route are small with many houses on them, making it difficult to chose a location for piles and how to spread the snow around and out without burying anyone's driveway entrance worse than before.
Man just knowing people still take their jobs seriously and do it in a considerate manner IS super refreshing and help me keep faith in humanity! Not to mention the incredible job he did! 👏👏🤙
If the storm lasts for days , these guys are out for days . They catch a couple hours of sleep between runs , if they're lucky . After the roads are black , they get to go home to a mountain of snow in their own driveway .
Not in my area. They have a policy to wait until the storm is over before doing anything other than the highways, and special areas preferred by those in power. The rest of us have to wait until they get around to us. Sometimes that's several days, or never.
Plowed snow for years,even after retirement I help when they need it. It’s a thankless job somebody will get a mess no matter what. This guy did a good job,and tried not to pack in the driveways. !
My kids love baking cookies for the plow guys!!! They appreciate the gesture by canting the blade straight when passing by our house to minimize the excess snow that piles up!!

My friend use to plow in the 1960's with an old FWD with the stacks coming out of the hood. 2 men, 1 drove the other ran the plow and the wing, the folks out in the country would give them shots of brandy, because the truck had no heat, he said by the time they finished they were half in the bag
I’m retired now,but plowed snow for a living for a municipality in southern Ontario.The worst part were the Cul De Sacs.Those islands made it difficult to get a tandem truck around,and if a car was parked on the road,it was a mess.I spent more time on those then anywhere else on my route.
I grew up on a farm in New England and plowing snow was a constant activity for three months of the year. I now live in a place where we rarely get snow yet I still enjoy watching people plow and all the new innovations with snow removal equipment.
Allotted time? There is no allotted time 🤦♂️ you go out and do your job to the best of your ability. When you out time frames on stuff like this, is when accidents happen. Come on use your head. I do this for a living, there is no “allotted” time for anything.

As an Ex-Town Plow Driver, I would have to throw my seal of approval over to this worker. I would usually pick one homeowner per street that was actively shoveling/Snow blowing and Back drag their driveway entrance into the street and plow it away for them. This action won me numerous festive metal boxes and plastic bags of cookies and baked goodies. This was in South Orange, NJ during the 1970's.
I'm a public employee and if you do that today they want to discipline you because you're potentially opening up the city to a lawsuit. Which is a bunch of bullshit if you ask me.
I did this for 25 years. It's a great job especially if you care about your work quality. I'm envious of these guys today with the high tech equipment they have now. We never had the extra side plow or the laser aiming lights like they have today. Honestly, the inside of those trucks look a lot like the cockpit of a fighter jet these days - lol. There's an awful lot goin on in those salt trucks. My favorite snow removal work was with my Cat road grader, tire chains and a huge one way plow up front. It takes a LOT of snow to stop that setup. Plus, doing a Cul De Sac with a grader is fast and easy. This guy definitely has skills - and cares about what his work looks like.
When I started the trucks were standard,the ride was like a tank,the plow assembly was hydraulic handle controlled and you were lucky if you had a radio at all.
This guy does a great job and actually tries to help the homeowners! I have seen where a homeowner gives the driver the finger. Easy way to let the homeowner know his appreciation. Next pass you cut into the side of the street and gain some speed. In front of the nice guys driveway you back off the speed and you put a good load in his driveway! He won't give you the finger anymore. Most of the time you do this after they clean the apron of snow!
That operator did a fine job. Ours is a out 1/2 mile in length, three places on each side. I usually have it cleaned up before the county ever shows up. I use a front mounted snowblower, thirty minutes and am done. The snow is 20 to30. Feet off the road and out of the way. No snow piled in the driveways. Neighbors appreciate it and always help pay for fuel. Best of all, always have fresh pies or cookies after each snowfall!
I used to live at the end of a cul de sac. My town used an F-450 with a dump box and just plowed straight up into my front yard. This video is a master class!
Nobody like cleaning cul-de-sacs in a truck. With that said, it's definitely an art form especially if it's loaded with driveways. This guy was experienced for sure.
This one is especially packed with driveways. The front lawns that aren't driveways, are extremely small. Then you have the light post and the hydrant too. Not much room left to push after taking that all into account. This was a pretty heavy snow. By the end of winter my 2 stage snowblower couldn't throw the snow over the banks.

Thank you for understanding when there is a lot of snow there's not a lot we can do to keep it out of your driveways I plow for municipality and sometimes I have to plow my road and put snow in my own apron and go home and clean it by hand. We do the best we can
I plowed for my town for 5 years as a owner/ operator and no matter how much you tried to keep the snow away from people's driveways there was always a few people who constantly complained. The biggest issue I always had was WHY people insisted on shoveling the end of their driveway 20 feet into the street before it had ever been plowed and then curse at me or the other guys for blocking them in !! Unfortunately the plow I used wasn't power angle and was fixed towards the curb so no matter what you did somebody got plowed in. Eventually I got under bid and was glad when the next company took over the headaches ! Personally I think this guy did a great job !!!
To answer your question, why do people shovel the street before the plow comes along, although I would blow not shovel, I often blow a “L” pattern where our driveway was the vertical part of the “L” and the road was the horizontal part of the “L” My goal was to minimize the size of the snowplow created icy, hard, difficult to remove snowbank at the end of my driveway. Depending on the amount of snow, the horizontal part may extend for 50 to 75 feet down the road and beyond my driveway. I blow this snow before the snowplow went past, when the snow was still fresh and easy to blow. I did this pattern so as the plow went past, the show already in front of the blow blade had that 50 to 75 feet to make its way over to the ditch. It was my attempt to minimize the size of the snowbank, the hard pile of snow that would be at the end of my driveway after the plow went through when I retuned from my work day. If I did it right, I could get my 4 wheel dive pickup truck over the pile at the end of the driveway, head into my house, change, and then blow the driveway again. A modern 4 wheel drive truck can get through unplowed roads, o plowed roads, but not over solid, hard packed snow banks without damage. I always needed to blow twice, once before the plow truck, once after. We were not on a primary road. The snow plows have a pecking order where they clear primary roads first. The town plows did not get to us until later morning or early afternoon. I recall the winter of 2012 where I was blowing 2x/day every day for 6 weeks. North East of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Knowing how to utilize a reversible plow with experience makes it look easy, I my self a 40yr veteran of snow removal for county & state highway systems, that operator did a excellent job 👍on that cul -de-sac especially with the volume of snow that is there.

I'm only 36 but I plowed snow and drove a dump truck for 12 years in Canada. These guys should get an annual parade....people don't realize how skilled you have to be to do that job
Agreed. I pushed snow for many years when I was younger. Got pretty good at it too. Friends would ride with me all the time, usually we would pull into a lot and be unimpressed, as we got more towards the end id start to hear comments like "so thats why you didn't push that other pile here" or "good thing you left that row open." People don't realize how much skill is actually to it, being able to pull into a lot and see the whole picture and plan in your head before you ever drop the blade.

Never saw that before. They always buried my driveway. I lived on the corner of a main street. I got screwed from both directions and bought too cheap of a snowblower. Last time I buy anything other than an Ariens.
You do your job to the fullest, it make take a bit longer, but in the end its done once and its done right. this person takes pride in what they do. In todays world no one cares and every one is in a rush to go no were. This person driving this plow has some sack and I commend him or her GREAT job you can come to my town anytime thank you!
they don't even do residential streets here, neighbours where stuck for 3 days home with a subaru on winters we got 9 inches in one night just over a week ago and another 2 or 3 inches since, they have plowed my road twice in the last 7 years, 1 pass down the center blocked every car, driveway in with the piles of snow. where i cam from somewhere that did a great job with snow removal, this place is terrible.

People see snow and just floor it and sit and spin and can't think that if they let the gas off just a bit the tires will have a chance to get a bit of grip. Me and my wife havent ever been stick at home, I put good tires on her car and never have an issue, but we also grew up where 9 inches of snow is pretty normal for a storm. People here because we get alot of mid season thaws so much its bare grass and roads they have no idea what to do when the snow stays more than a week

In a small town in the N. California mountains, where you knew everyone....I saw the plow coming down my street. It was an articulating road grader plow...6 wheel drive, with a guy I knew named Rick driving. I thought I'd throw a snowball at him from my upstairs porch....I didn't know his side window was open a few inches, and my hard packed snowball hit o'l Rick right in the face. He hit the brakes locking up all 6 wheels, which slid a little on the tire chains....Rick looked over at me...shook his finger towards me yelling something....then backed up 100 yards, and dropped his plows....and proceeded to push a mountain of snow 10 feet deep and unloaded it right in front of my driveway.....then backed up to collect even more. I never again threw a snowball at Rick.
I work for a street department in Northern Indiana. We never back into a driveway. Especially if it's concrete. The weight of the truck could crack it. We use underbody blades for the most part. We have front blades but use them when needed. Cul de sacs are easier with the underbody blade if they're bigger. We'll pile the snow into the center of it and load it into dump trucks and haul it out if we need to.

Each cul de sac provides their own challenges. This driver is a pro for sure. I had 2 cul de sacs to plow Jan 1st and did a mighty fine job if I do say so myself !

@Draggy654 For me it's hard to use the driveway. It's too short, and 3 vehicles need to actively get in and out. It's much easier to stay parked on the street. On days it snows and I know it won't melt by the afternoon, I try to park up in the driveway the furthest. If I need out I can drive through the yard since it's full of snow. Any other time of year and my neighbors would be complaining about driving in the yard.

the camera mans driveway got the worst of the snow from the plow and he was still happy. Nice to see. I live in Northern Canada, we get a lot of snow just like this video, and we dont even have a plow truck and they dont use a grader. They use a stupid sand truck with a blade on the belly of the truck, it does a horrible job, basically single lanes around here in winter. Its insane and residents absolutely hate it. A few times a winter they come with the grader, loaders and dump trucks and haul away the extra snow on the street. Which is very nice, but they could skip a lot of the hauling with proper snow clearing done the first time.
You know another thing that's funny, is people will complain we didn't plow their roads yet, but then when we do plow it they'll complain that we put snow in their apron. We cannot win with most people. Were also plowing the roads for emergency personnel so they can make it to your house if you need them.So please keep that in mind too.
I worked for a township that plowed driveways. People wanted you there 10 minutes b4 they left for work. They always complained you woke them up . 93 miles of road, 145 driveways one can not cater to individual wants.
Yep, the world is full of unsung heroes. Take snowplowing out and places shut down. Sewer and water workers, garbage collectors, electricians, mechanics. All and more are intraget part of society and we can't do without them. (Teachers to bc I can't spell intraget)

I have spoken with my local plow driver and pointed out a hydrant that's also near my driveway and close to an intersection. He now pushes the intersection clear first so there's less snow by the hydrant and less at the end of my driveway. Basically a double bonus for me and the FD when they send guys to shovel hydrants. It also helps if you are standing in your driveway leaning on a shovel. They feel bad for you if it was just cleared a few minutes ago.
As a plow driver myself, please don't lean on a shovel and stare at me. It's unnerving. Go inside. I hate when people do that. I feel like they just wanna yell at me. And sometimes they do.
be glad he plowed at all, town i live in takes 2 weeks to plow 4 inches of snow, if your lucky enough to live on a street deemed worthy of being plowed.
He was fortunate that he had a large available space to place the snow in the cul de sac, Clearing a cul de sac that has driveways coming off it all the way around it is more of a challenge.

Need this guy for my cul de sac. We got 3 inches of snow the other day and I ended up with a 5ftx20ft pile of snow that was 4 ft deep. Took videos of it and should upload them. Took 3 hours to shovel it. Really need to invest in a snowblower. You guys are lucky to have that driver. lol
They used to care about blocking driveways in my town. Now they couldnt care less. There are only 4 driveways on our street and it wouldn't take much to angle the plow so they wouldnt block us in but they dont care. The berm is so big we have to hire another plow guy to come thru and plow out in front of our driveways.
Nice to see a guy using his brain to make a plan of attack for those tough little spots, he made every move he made there count and that was a delight to watch.
Many of these snow removal operators are Artists. Seems everybody in here is sick of politics and viruses also. This is an interesting break. Living in Florida I enjoy watching snow removal. Looks like fun. I haven't seen snow in person in a good 30 years.

Not in my area. They have a policy to wait until the storm is over before doing anything other than the highways, and special areas preferred by those in power. The rest of us have to wait until they get around to us. Sometimes that's several days, or never.
Plowed snow for years,even after retirement I help when they need it. It’s a thankless job somebody will get a mess no matter what. This guy did a good job,and tried not to pack in the driveways. !

My kids love baking cookies for the plow guys!!! They appreciate the gesture by canting the blade straight when passing by our house to minimize the excess snow that piles up!!

My friend use to plow in the 1960's with an old FWD with the stacks coming out of the hood. 2 men, 1 drove the other ran the plow and the wing, the folks out in the country would give them shots of brandy, because the truck had no heat, he said by the time they finished they were half in the bag
I’m retired now,but plowed snow for a living for a municipality in southern Ontario.The worst part were the Cul De Sacs.Those islands made it difficult to get a tandem truck around,and if a car was parked on the road,it was a mess.I spent more time on those then anywhere else on my route.

I grew up on a farm in New England and plowing snow was a constant activity for three months of the year. I now live in a place where we rarely get snow yet I still enjoy watching people plow and all the new innovations with snow removal equipment.
Once the city got word of this video, the guy was probably fired for taking 5 times the allotted time to clear the street.

Allotted time? There is no allotted time 🤦♂️ you go out and do your job to the best of your ability. When you out time frames on stuff like this, is when accidents happen. Come on use your head. I do this for a living, there is no “allotted” time for anything.

Very skilled operator, and they do a great job not burying the driveways.
As an Ex-Town Plow Driver, I would have to throw my seal of approval over to this worker. I would usually pick one homeowner per street that was actively shoveling/Snow blowing and Back drag their driveway entrance into the street and plow it away for them. This action won me numerous festive metal boxes and plastic bags of cookies and baked goodies. This was in South Orange, NJ during the 1970's.
I'm a public employee and if you do that today they want to discipline you because you're potentially opening up the city to a lawsuit. Which is a bunch of bullshit if you ask me.

I'm envious of these guys today with the high tech equipment they have now.
We never had the extra side plow or the laser aiming lights like they have today.
Honestly, the inside of those trucks look a lot like the cockpit of a fighter jet these days - lol.
There's an awful lot goin on in those salt trucks.
My favorite snow removal work was with my Cat road grader, tire chains and a huge one way plow up front.
It takes a LOT of snow to stop that setup.
Plus, doing a Cul De Sac with a grader is fast and easy.
This guy definitely has skills - and cares about what his work looks like.
When I started the trucks were standard,the ride was like a tank,the plow assembly was hydraulic handle controlled and you were lucky if you had a radio at all.

This guy does a great job and actually tries to help the homeowners! I have seen where a homeowner gives the driver the finger. Easy way to let the homeowner know his appreciation.
Next pass you cut into the side of the street and gain some speed. In front of the nice guys driveway you back off the speed and you put a good load in his driveway! He won't give you the finger anymore. Most of the time you do this after they clean the apron of snow!

That operator did a fine job. Ours is a out 1/2 mile in length, three places on each side. I usually have it cleaned up before the county ever shows up. I use a front mounted snowblower, thirty minutes and am done. The snow is 20 to30. Feet off the road and out of the way. No snow piled in the driveways. Neighbors appreciate it and always help pay for fuel. Best of all, always have fresh pies or cookies after each snowfall!

Nobody like cleaning cul-de-sacs in a truck. With that said, it's definitely an art form especially if it's loaded with driveways. This guy was experienced for sure.
This one is especially packed with driveways. The front lawns that aren't driveways, are extremely small. Then you have the light post and the hydrant too. Not much room left to push after taking that all into account. This was a pretty heavy snow. By the end of winter my 2 stage snowblower couldn't throw the snow over the banks.

I plowed for my town for 5 years as a owner/ operator and no matter how much you tried to keep the snow away from people's driveways there was always a few people who constantly complained. The biggest issue I always had was WHY people insisted on shoveling the end of their driveway 20 feet into the street before it had ever been plowed and then curse at me or the other guys for blocking them in !! Unfortunately the plow I used wasn't power angle and was fixed towards the curb so no matter what you did somebody got plowed in. Eventually I got under bid and was glad when the next company took over the headaches ! Personally I think this guy did a great job !!!
I plow but with a 3/4 ton and v plow. Anyone who thinks this is easy should give it a whirl.
To answer your question, why do people shovel the street before the plow comes along, although I would blow not shovel, I often blow a “L” pattern where our driveway was the vertical part of the “L” and the road was the horizontal part of the “L”
My goal was to minimize the size of the snowplow created icy, hard, difficult to remove snowbank at the end of my driveway.
Depending on the amount of snow, the horizontal part may extend for 50 to 75 feet down the road and beyond my driveway. I blow this snow before the snowplow went past, when the snow was still fresh and easy to blow. I did this pattern so as the plow went past, the show already in front of the blow blade had that 50 to 75 feet to make its way over to the ditch. It was my attempt to minimize the size of the snowbank, the hard pile of snow that would be at the end of my driveway after the plow went through when I retuned from my work day. If I did it right, I could get my 4 wheel dive pickup truck over the pile at the end of the driveway, head into my house, change, and then blow the driveway again.
A modern 4 wheel drive truck can get through unplowed roads, o plowed roads, but not over solid, hard packed snow banks without damage.
I always needed to blow twice, once before the plow truck, once after.
We were not on a primary road. The snow plows have a pecking order where they clear primary roads first. The town plows did not get to us until later morning or early afternoon.
I recall the winter of 2012 where I was blowing 2x/day every day for 6 weeks. North East of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Knowing how to utilize a reversible plow with experience makes it look easy, I my self a 40yr veteran of snow removal for county & state highway systems, that operator did a excellent job 👍on that cul -de-sac especially with the volume of snow that is there.

Agreed. I pushed snow for many years when I was younger. Got pretty good at it too. Friends would ride with me all the time, usually we would pull into a lot and be unimpressed, as we got more towards the end id start to hear comments like "so thats why you didn't push that other pile here" or "good thing you left that row open." People don't realize how much skill is actually to it, being able to pull into a lot and see the whole picture and plan in your head before you ever drop the blade.

Never saw that before. They always buried my driveway. I lived on the corner of a main street. I got screwed from both directions and bought too cheap of a snowblower. Last time I buy anything other than an Ariens.
You do your job to the fullest, it make take a bit longer, but in the end its done once and its done right. this person takes pride in what they do. In todays world no one cares and every one is in a rush to go no were. This person driving this plow has some sack and I commend him or her GREAT job you can come to my town anytime thank you!

they don't even do residential streets here, neighbours where stuck for 3 days home with a subaru on winters we got 9 inches in one night just over a week ago and another 2 or 3 inches since, they have plowed my road twice in the last 7 years, 1 pass down the center blocked every car, driveway in with the piles of snow. where i cam from somewhere that did a great job with snow removal, this place is terrible.

People see snow and just floor it and sit and spin and can't think that if they let the gas off just a bit the tires will have a chance to get a bit of grip.
Me and my wife havent ever been stick at home, I put good tires on her car and never have an issue, but we also grew up where 9 inches of snow is pretty normal for a storm.
People here because we get alot of mid season thaws so much its bare grass and roads they have no idea what to do when the snow stays more than a week

In a small town in the N. California mountains, where you knew everyone....I saw the plow coming down my street. It was an articulating road grader plow...6 wheel drive, with a guy I knew named Rick driving. I thought I'd throw a snowball at him from my upstairs porch....I didn't know his side window was open a few inches, and my hard packed snowball hit o'l Rick right in the face. He hit the brakes locking up all 6 wheels, which slid a little on the tire chains....Rick looked over at me...shook his finger towards me yelling something....then backed up 100 yards, and dropped his plows....and proceeded to push a mountain of snow 10 feet deep and unloaded it right in front of my driveway.....then backed up to collect even more. I never again threw a snowball at Rick.
Lesson learned!

I work for a street department in Northern Indiana. We never back into a driveway. Especially if it's concrete. The weight of the truck could crack it.
We use underbody blades for the most part. We have front blades but use them when needed. Cul de sacs are easier with the underbody blade if they're bigger. We'll pile the snow into the center of it and load it into dump trucks and haul it out if we need to.
I'm sure everybody on that cul-de-sac has a different view of how that driver did, pretty tough to please everybody, when pushing snow!

Each cul de sac provides their own challenges. This driver is a pro for sure. I had 2 cul de sacs to plow Jan 1st and did a mighty fine job if I do say so myself !

@Draggy654 For me it's hard to use the driveway. It's too short, and 3 vehicles need to actively get in and out. It's much easier to stay parked on the street. On days it snows and I know it won't melt by the afternoon, I try to park up in the driveway the furthest. If I need out I can drive through the yard since it's full of snow. Any other time of year and my neighbors would be complaining about driving in the yard.

the camera mans driveway got the worst of the snow from the plow and he was still happy. Nice to see. I live in Northern Canada, we get a lot of snow just like this video, and we dont even have a plow truck and they dont use a grader. They use a stupid sand truck with a blade on the belly of the truck, it does a horrible job, basically single lanes around here in winter. Its insane and residents absolutely hate it. A few times a winter they come with the grader, loaders and dump trucks and haul away the extra snow on the street. Which is very nice, but they could skip a lot of the hauling with proper snow clearing done the first time.
You know another thing that's funny, is people will complain we didn't plow their roads yet, but then when we do plow it they'll complain that we put snow in their apron. We cannot win with most people. Were also plowing the roads for emergency personnel so they can make it to your house if you need them.So please keep that in mind too.
I worked for a township that plowed driveways. People wanted you there 10 minutes b4 they left for work. They always complained you woke them up .

I have spoken with my local plow driver and pointed out a hydrant that's also near my driveway and close to an intersection. He now pushes the intersection clear first so there's less snow by the hydrant and less at the end of my driveway. Basically a double bonus for me and the FD when they send guys to shovel hydrants. It also helps if you are standing in your driveway leaning on a shovel. They feel bad for you if it was just cleared a few minutes ago.
As a plow driver myself, please don't lean on a shovel and stare at me. It's unnerving. Go inside. I hate when people do that. I feel like they just wanna yell at me. And sometimes they do.

Need this guy for my cul de sac. We got 3 inches of snow the other day and I ended up with a 5ftx20ft pile of snow that was 4 ft deep. Took videos of it and should upload them. Took 3 hours to shovel it. Really need to invest in a snowblower. You guys are lucky to have that driver. lol

They used to care about blocking driveways in my town. Now they couldnt care less. There are only 4 driveways on our street and it wouldn't take much to angle the plow so they wouldnt block us in but they dont care. The berm is so big we have to hire another plow guy to come thru and plow out in front of our driveways.
Nice to see a guy using his brain to make a plan of attack for those tough little spots, he made every move he made there count and that was a delight to watch.

Living in Florida I enjoy watching snow removal. Looks like fun. I haven't seen snow in person in a good 30 years.
