  • I Plow Snow for the Municipality here in Nova Scotia, Canada & Welcome to my Channel!
I hope you all enjoy this compilation of some of my snow plow videos. We haven't had much snow this season, so I decided to make a video for my viewers using clips from the past couple of years with the Mac Truck. Although it can be challenging at times, I enjoy plowing snow and hope these videos help raise awareness to what we snowfighters might be dealing with when trying to keep our highways safe.
Please like, comment and subscribe if you'd like to help support my channel as it is greatly appreciated!
Happy New Year and Thank you for tuning in to JimHow Digs Dirt!

Driving while the snow was falling heavily, especially at night, was bad on the eyes and dangerous. How plowmen do it is beyond me. I fear I would have been mesmerized and fallen asleep. It's bad enough in a heavy rain during daylight. Kudos.

My dad retired from PennDot literally a day before he died. He started off working for a drilling company driving their 100000 ppound rig from site to site back in the 80s but as we the kids got older he wanted to be home more then 2days every other weekend so he started working for the Township we lived in and eventually went to the state side of it. But in the winter time if it was gonna be a real bad storm and they call school off the night before id go with him and work the lever for the cinders when he told me to. We lived on the family farm at that point out in the country side of SwPa. Was always fun being the first person out on the roads during a snow storm. U guys are badasses to say the least. Nothing better then riding around with your pops plowing snow.. dont think penndot would of allowed me in the truck but the township was just a bunch of country men doing whatever they could to keep things going.

The sad part of plowing snow is foolish, dangerous drivers who do not yield the right of way. Many think because a truck has a snowplow they can stop better/faster than everyone else and they pull out in front of us folks trying our best to keep roads, parking lots etc clean. I wish our country would adapt a better method of teaching drivers how to drive safely and properly. Stay safe and keep up the great work. Ty.

I remember growing up my dad , grandpa and uncle worked for the county here in Michigan. Wouldn't see any of them for days sometimes even a week or more. That was in the 60,70,80s we'd get a storm and they go. We all live with in a half mile so since I was the only boy I was expected to go shovel porches and feed the couple of cows my grandpa had . Them were the good old days.

Awesome videos and I thank you for taking them. I too know what you refer to about driver's who knowingly won't turn on headlights or remove as much snow as possible from their autos/trucks before they hit the roads. They endanger everyone by making their vehicle's hard to see in blinding snow storms. IN the US its a required by law that all vehicles turn on their lights when the sun sets yet many do not and our police do not have the time I believe to stop and tag them. I myself have plowed snow most of my life but in smaller full sized PU trucks yet I still with all my warning lights have fools pull out in front of me almost causing major accidents. I did a small test to see what would happen if my snow plow struck an auto at slow speeds of 5 MPH and it cut open the cars door like a can opener! Imagine the damage if I hit someone at greater speeds because they did not yield the right of way! I can easily adjust my driving, speed for all road conditions yet the wild card is always the idiots who shouldn't be allowed to drive a battery operated child's car let alone a real one when roads are dangerous, IMHO. Someday I plan on buying an older dump truck with the larger equipment to start plowing larger parking lots and sanding. Your video helped me see how it's done safely.Ty again.
