In this studio vlog of The Workshop, I'll show you how I went about mixing vocals for my newest original song "Fall In Autumn".
1. Sound Doctor (BG Choir) - unison.audio/sound-doctor/ref...
2. Studio Rack (Lead Vocals) - waves.alzt.net/5g0zr3
3. Clarity VX DeReverb Pro (Lead Vocals) - waves.alzt.net/xk6oMd
4. Auto-Tune & Vocal Reverb (All Vocals) - antarestech.sjv.io/x9q5zx
5. Nectar 4 (Lead Vocals) - www.izotope.com/en/products/n...
For the vocal mixing & music production of this song I decided to go with an array of plugins from Unison & Waves to Izotope & Auto-Tune. Each of the vocals I chose to process differently in order to achieve a unique sound throughout each progression of the song from the verse, to the chorus, to the intro and outro. I'm going to teach you how to mix vocals using this same technique I use on most of my music to tell a story and present your music in a professional sounding way. You can follow along in this tutorial using your own GarageBand, Logic Pro X, or other DAW session you may have. See what sort of vocal chain you're able to come up with yourself using these techniques.

Great video and it’s great to see you back again. I look forward to your videos. Continue to stay great. Continue to be blessed.
I appreciate you and I’ll always be around to share my knowledge and art 🤟🏽☀️
Great vocal chain
You’re an outstanding RUclips channel.
Thank you for this video, Boss Man! This is some crucial info you took time to share with us.
More to come for sure as I create more songs. I’ll be sharing a lot about the plugins and processes I go through so people can get an idea of what’s truly possible.
Much needed info bro 💯 thank you for your time
Thank you and I hope you learned something good in this video!
Happy to see you back at it. Hope you’re well. Thank you for the info bro, been trying to step up my production quality lately
Most definitely! Never gonna go anywhere, I’m always around and been around 🙏🏾 glad you liked the vid and let me know if you have any questions about anything

The G is back 🔥
I been back! Lol but thank you man 🙏🏾
Yooo! Ray Saadiq always told me that Vocs don’t always have to be perfect, if the feel is righteous! Great shit Bro as always!
Another great video! Gave up some gems here for sure.
What’s ur honest thoughts on the longer form? Did it seem to drag at all or was it good? I’m thinking of keeping the workshop series like this because I. Can really go in depth on my choices and the “why”.
@IAMLXGEND the longer form is what we have been missing. I enjoy the longer form videos. Personally I am always looking for videos that are between 15 and 50 minutes. I know the attention span thing is a factor for some but I don't think that really applies to the type of content you make. For the things you want to highlight you can pull that out and make shorts. But this length of video and the indepth is perfect.
@LVEMRE honestly I like it more myself because I don’t have to cut so much of what I want to say out of the vid. I feel like so much gets lost. So I really enjoyed doing it like this. The attention span def is a thing, the vid so far only has a 4 minute average view duration but In The grand scheme I think the folks who do watch through will get so much more out of it.
@IAMLXGEND to help with the watch time, maybe try to add in a "stick around and I'm going to show you an easy way to (insert whatever gem you may have) in this video.
Thank you so much for these bro my mixing and mastering in my music is trash af so will definitely try these out
You got it man and glad I can be of some help 🙏🏾 let me know if you have any questions
14:11 this is dope. I don’t sing tho, but this and any plugin with similar functionality is also very useful for sound design.
I agree entirely
The way you look and how often you say “crisp”, you remind me of barber 💈 content creator @360Jeezy 🤣🤣🤣
🤣😂 lmao
Great Video 👍🏾, actually makes me consider getting the waves suite. Clarity Deverb is a great plugin to have especially if your room isn’t treated, the pro version looks pretty dope as well. Side stepping my own unison critiques sound doctor didn’t sound half bad 😂, I got a couple of good multi efx plugins but recently I got the Lifeline Console/Expanse bundle and that jawnt is 🐐’d ngl.
Haven’t heard of that one yet but I’ll have to check it out. And yea this is reason #1 why I always share what I actually use because I find it useful for my production you know? That goes for waves and unison stuff. I was against the subscription too but considering I’d have to pay an equal amount to update plugins every year anyway I figured it’s worth it. In terms of Sound Doctor, this is what I tried to tell people when it first came out but I got labeled as a “shill”. 🤷🏾♂️ all I’m doing is showing folks what’s possible and to me, with this song, sound Doctor really came through for me.
Thank you for being open minded at the very least, it’s a lost art on this platform.
@@IAMLXGEND a lot of people compare it to that RC20 plugin but it has more hip hop / trap applications compared to Lofi/Rock. (Even though they both can do both). The console is perfect for shaping and getting the most out of a sound while the expanse lets you get creative with the sound. It’s quickly become one of my go2’s.
Bro I’m having the same issue with female vocalists when I’m trying to put a reference/ demo track together for a female artist and need female vocalists as a reference. What AI app or site did you use? I’m looking for a close as natural voice as possible.
For this song I used Moises.ai
9:09 that looked simple AF until you expanded the window. This all inside Antares Auto-Tune?
This is the more complicated way to autotune. There is a simpler version I also show in the video but I also have walkthroughs of how to navigate autotune’s graph.
Can we expect a LXGEND x Devin J. Morrison duet in the making sometime?
I’m not sure who that is. Are they a singer?
@@IAMLXGEND As the ghetto axiom/ebonics saying goes, "you betta ask somebody". Devin Morrison....Spotify....here on RUclips...Bandcamp and SoundCloud I think, too..
26:24 wow…
Good isn’t it?
Thank God for AT 🤦🏾♂️
Bro, what happened to your drumming?
Nothing, idk what you mean.
