- In this music production series I show how to mix and master a song using my subscriber's music as an example. I show the process I go through to make any song sound professional from your home studio, from the basics to the more advance techniques I've taught myself over the years. Mixing vocals from start to finish can be a daunting task for any beginner musician. But I hope that this in-studio demonstration is explained well enough for anyone to get their songs release-ready.

A simple tip to all who record their vocals. Before sending it for mixing I like to manually automate, gain stage, and do some small eq cut on the lows. It makes the mixer life so much easier if you do this.

I love that...everything was perfect especially after removing that compression from Neutron...and I am not sure if its my ear but CLA vocals sounds much better than CLA effects on most of the mixes I have done. and finally in Logic, the automation icon is just near the tracks - just below the bpm and tempo screen icons, so you don't need to go all way to the menu (well I guess your intention was to help us know where to locate it otherwise)

It's clear that there's room for improvement in my home studio setup, particularly regarding the excess reverb. I'm diligently taking note of all the valuable tips you provided on vocal recording and espacially the mixing process. It's crazy how much mastering by a sound engineer can improve an amateur music.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting that, but I'm surprised by the results; they embody a unique and original vibe!

I have a question she said noice in the vocals. So the artist didn’t clean up their vocals before sending it to you to mix??
Artists send me their songs as is, I didn't ask them to clean anything up.
