Ooo I remember when the Met started using the MK1's just as they were replaced with the MK2's which were very popular with the SPG, normal woodentops got the ratty old Sherpa, coroners and other police medical specialists had Mini vans come to think of it. Best Transit I ever had was a MK1, front slidey doors both sides, full coachbuilt liftroof camper with a lockable luggage thingy in the roof section with a ladder built into the back door, fridge, cooker and oven, the tiniest little shower room and chem bog, slept 4 adults and was fibreglass thermal insulated so was a brilliant cold weather camper. York front and an old Essex 3.0 engine married to a MK2 Transit gearbox, ex SPG "Jag" back axle to handle the 3.0, it wasn't super high speed but could cruise all day at 70, the sheer poke of the beast was impressive and could tow anything. Oh and American mag slots, bloody huge they were like them Fandango wheels off the Hamlet advert, its not the one in my channel vid intro as that was an old MK1 with the 2 litre V4 I bought for 75 quid and a cracking camper that was but nowhere near as good as my first one (which was towed illegally by Bromley council who then crushed it before I could get it back and because the tax disc had fallen on the floor grrr they called the police on me cos I had the jobsworth off his toes by his shirt I was so mad)
Great transformation. I never tried powder coating, heard it's much stronger than ordinary spray. If I were you I would have filed the side cast lines and detail the back lights and go for proper jewel headlamps. Again great job.
I love the Transit MK 1 that´s a van of my childhood. I think rhinestones look better for the lights on the front. I use this for an old Tempo Matador from Siku I restore a long time ago.
Lovely restoration Martin. Although watching you scrape off the stickers with that blade TOWARDS YOU was an uneasy watch.(Yes I know you know what you're doing but even so it gives me goosebumps).
Ohhh RetroHax!!! I love Everything You Have Done Here!!! Its Better Than Mint Condition Now Its A Masterpiece!!! And Is Rare As Rocking Horse Poop!!! I Love This Here Dinky Toy Hows All The Detail!!! Awesome!!!
Most parts for dinky and corgi can be acquired from Steve flowers model supplies at Leicestershire tyres transfers light jewels and also tyres very nice van looked good after it was finished
@@RetroHax ahhh right I see he never use to be as bad as that unless it's not actual Steve anymore because we use to get bits off him before he even had a website not so many years ago when dad was revamping corgis and dinky up with rattle cans
@@AlexanderSmith21 It was Steve, I spoke to him personally. He was OK when I placed my order and I told him I would mention his business in my video (which I did) but after 3 weeks, I phoned him and he was basically dis interested saying he had it in a pile of orders and he'd try and get round to it by the end of the week. No sign of him telling me that when I placed the order. Quite rude in my opinion. I won't be using him any more.
@@RetroHax I don't blame you and I'm sorry to hear that because he used to be so good at one time but obviously things have changed since then because my dad went onto other projects and last year he sadly passed away so I don't do what he did but I also have my own channel and trying my best to make it work I watch you and your son in law and enjoy your videos alot keep up the good work buddy
A beautiful restoration Martin. It's great to watch someone else doing the work. Did those doors go back in without any trouble. I find I get one in and the other falls out. Take care, Jeff
Hi Martin great transformation, but why no number plate? I think before you started it was on a K plate 1972, I’d have liked to have seen that back on it. Anyway great videos thanks🙂👍
Awesome job pal! Only thing I wasn't keen on was the headlights but I'm guessing OEM ones are non existant now? I have one of these to fix up sometime, I remember making the stickers years ago at work!
Lovely job Mr Hax, oddly enough this is the second restoration of the same vehicle I've watched tonight.............................the other blokes paint skills could be drastically improved.
I powder coated this Dinky Die Cast vehicle, let me know what you think.
Top notch resto I never new you could powder coat die cast metal before I luv this paint job
Restored to better than new!

Had one of these..fab🤣🤣👍
Nice one!
Muito bom!🇧🇷👏👏
nice
sempurna..
I've got some of the yellow jewelled headlights if you want a pair Martin ?
That would be great. They sent the wrong size so will need changing. Drop me an email Mike On my "About" page
A beautiful restoration Martin. It's great to watch someone else doing the work.
Did those doors go back in without any trouble. I find I get one in and the other falls out.
Take care, Jeff
A but fiddly Jeff but ok. They sent the wrong size jewel headlights and no number plate stickers in the kit so I have to sort them.
I suppose if you ordered another jewel headlight you would have to wait another three weeks. Lol
Hi Martin great transformation, but why no number plate? I think before you started it was on a K plate 1972, I’d have liked to have seen that back on it. Anyway great videos thanks🙂👍
they didn't come in the kit Luke, I'll make a set though.
RetroHax Great that will just finish it off nicely 👍
I got the fire engine version as a swapsy and it didn't have it tyres either.....what exactly would you need them for? the mind boggles.
It's a mk1 Martin, my dad had a minibus when we were kids
Awesome job pal! Only thing I wasn't keen on was the headlights but I'm guessing OEM ones are non existant now? I have one of these to fix up sometime, I remember making the stickers years ago at work!
They sent the wrong jewels but I have some coming now
Awesome job! But where did you found a new windscreen?
Model-supplies.co.uk bud
Lovely job Mr Hax, oddly enough this is the second restoration of the same vehicle I've watched tonight.............................the other blokes paint skills could be drastically improved.
Well done. That’s a different camera at the end what happened to the original?
It was a replacement as the original had bits missing.
great example of defunding the police. lol.
Beautiful job! Been waiting for this one. You found the little signs in the end then! Where do you source your tyres from please?
I got them from model-supplies.co.uk
Could you not reproduce the license plate number?
Yes I'll make my own. they didn't come in the kit I bought.
Wow I'm the first one here.
That makes me 3rd :) Nice one Martyn are you going into diecast restorations? If so i'll send you a few!
I have a playlist on my Retrorestore channel Rick
i'm the second 1 here
👍👍👍👍🤔
👍👏👏💪
That is a mk 1 not mk 2
Левша
Not your best work... paint imperfection on front grid lights? Wrong typeface on decal? Cut marks on decal? Anyway thanks for the video...
Mk1 not mk2🤣🤣🤣🙈🙈
Great work Martin.
Glad you enjoyed it Pete
Well say as it is Martin . Looks better than new.
