It makes me appreciate how much work you've put into the restoration Martin. Especially when I see the whole process in one video rather than bite sized pieces each week. Sharon must be proud of her mower and you!. Stay safe.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL.... a great customization for an old mower... love the main colour and the decals which went along with it, the engine having chrome and gold parts also topped the entire thing off... AMAZING
By far I think this is your best work. You may have started a trend, custom painted lawn movers, it's beautiful most lawnmowers colors are boring, Sharon's lawnmower pops. One of a kind. Thanks and stay safe.
What a work of art. If that were mine, it would go on a pedestal never to be used in anger again. Have been watching your channels for years, and your skills never cease to amaze. Cheers from Aus.
You should sell restored lawnmowers. Anybody that doesn't want a semi-vintage restored push mower that isn't plastic, is 100% color customizable, and also comes with a full resto video, is out of their minds
Fantastic Martin great to see the whole process in one video Briggs and Sharon very rare mower that is why i love watching your videos and always will great stuff keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍
This was a very fun video to watch. As always, your workmanship is excellent. Like the graphics a lot. Hope your other projects parts show soon. Thanks for sharing.
I'm restoring a 35 year old Murray with a Briggs 3.5. I don't have a sandblasting cabinet or powder coating, but I do have paint. I'm hoping to gain the courage to paint my car, from the experience gained by painting decks. You can see the mower on my channel, it's the red one that was submerged in a flood a few years back. It runs great, now I'm in the process of stripping the engine and painting the parts. I'm thinking of polishing the aluminum block and head.
@@RetroHax thanks, I'm going to need it. My channel has a few flood recovery projects I've been working on during this shutdown. Can't believe these Briggs engines survived that abuse so well.
May I suggest that pipe stand you make a knotch in the top of the pipe so the mower front fits in also is you customize another may I suggest using rusteloum hammered paint
That mower is now just too good to be used.... that is a masterpiece... But if being used I do hope it isn't getting all scratched up after that fabulous paint job...
I realy like your Videos, i also have a old Lawnmover from 1995 here and i would like to repair it. It is a Quantum motor. But i am a little bit scared to work on them. Because i've heared that the Enginebrake und some gaskets contain asbestos. But i couldnt found something about it in the Internet. Maybe you know if the Briggs and Stratton Motors contain asbestos?
Hi Martin , quick question for you if can, as you have now done many a mower, ive just rebuilt a Briggs classic 35 and all working, my problem is i was given a deck with no engine but had self drive and the guy gave me the blade and the boss, now when fitting engine to the deck it pulls over fine, soon as i fit the blade i cant pull it over, ive undone the blade done it back up finger tight but still the same, theres 20 mm gap at each end of the blade so its not hitting the deck, would you have any new ideas, i was wondering if its th pully for the self drive if its to big?
I would need to see it to diagnose it bud. Something is fouling, Can you rotate the blade from underneath by hand? Please remove the spark plug cap if you try this. Is the drive mechanism fitted and working correctly? Is the pulley molded to the boss?
Looks really good. For right now. Unfortunately all of the pieces that you powder coated chrome in a very short time will all turn a very ugly dull dark grey due to exposure to UV lights. You HAVE to clear coat chrome powder if you plan to use it in an exterior environment . However, when you do clear chrome powder it does loose a lot of that chrome luster. It wont look like it does uncleared, but it's your only option.. One of those things about chrome powder that has not been perfected. Other than what you are about to see in a very short time with the chrome parts, you did an excellent job on this project.
@@RetroHax , you know it because bud you've been doing this a while now, but still didn't clear them? OooooKaaaaay!! cough, cough!! Anyways, the mower looked great.
I know my lawn is going to look better and I'm going to enjoy mowing with a custom painted lawn mower. No, it's, "Honey YOU'RE going to enjoy mowing with this custom painted lawn mower."
I would of just polish that muffler guard it is stainless steel use steel wool and soap than get stainless steel polish it looks new the heat with blister it
My wife chose the colour of this lawnmower so I powder coated it. Let me know your opinion.

Modern brakes no longer contain Asbestos but you could email briggs and Stratton to confirm this.
