I JUST got this phone as my first smartphone, and I absolutely love it. I love how big the screen is because it makes it really easy for me to type! I was worried about typing because I have big fingers, and small keyboards are the bane of people with large fingers.
Excellent quick review, especially the 810 heating issue. I have not looked it up, but I have never heard that and it would change my buying decision. Thanks!
I have an LG K7, planning on upgrading to this phone. The LG K7 was the first phone I've had out of a very long history of owning phones to have buttons on the back and since getting to experience it I don't think I ever want to go back to having buttons on the side.
Hey, Johnathan, I'm from Moscow and I wanted to thank you for what you're doing, and I really enjoy your articulation and the way you explain stuff. A big high five at your face from Russia)
I had the lg g3 and LOVED it, but sadly, since I'm clumsy, I dropped it and the screen cracked and stopped being responsive on that one side. After watching videos, drop test and comparisons of this phone, AND the camera shoots RAW images, I'm sold. This would be perfect for my blog! Great review :)
I actually really like the back buttons, and the expandable storage is great, especially to back up that camera, I'm really looking forward to this phone.
I made the switch (finally) from my BB. Especially when the BB began with Android OS. I obviously have chosen the correct phone for All of my needs. Ty for the review.
Great review. I like how you are being realistic about it. Everyone makes a big deal about the processor. I'm currently using S3 and it's quite fast, i don't think i'll be missing out that much if i choose to go with LG G4 rather than S6.
Good take on the many LG G4 reviews I have viewed. all positive and the Snapdragon 810 cpu comparison was probably the clincher with respect to hard drivin' the phone when it gets hot.
The G4 is most definitely the head honcho of #TeamCrispy Another great video man! I got the notification you uploaded in my Alg. 2 class and just HAD to watch it ASAP
Have the G3 and can upgrade next May. My G3 was replaced when it got so hot the speaker blew. I changed battery and never had the problem since although I keep the screen no higher than around 65% brightness. This looks like the next phone for me but we'll see in 5 months!
Nice job, you summed things up nicely! I especially liked your explanation of the CPU issue. I have seen a fair amount of input on the 808 vs 810 debate, but little actual performance data :)
This is my waiting list from ***** 1.Samsung Galaxy S6 Review & Camera Test 2.HTC M9 Review & Camera Test 3.LG4 Review & Camera Test 4.And I'm still waiting.
WTH is this crispy and at what tell tale point is crispiness achieved? Got to be honest not really liking the purple and teal themed background that LG has on there by default so hopefully they have a lot of other themes to choose from. Lastly When will we see your full review?
I always love watching your videos, they're beautiful and the content is always nice, crisp camera shots and it makes it heaps better with the motion tracked letters :)
***** no virtual high five today? Definitely waiting for a full comparison of the S6 and the G4, especially the cameras (front and rear) and the screen. Thanks for your awesome and neat videos, man.
Hi Jonathan. Some time ago before buying the predecessor - the LG G3 I was looking at some reviews that kept praising the display (the first with 2560x1440 on a phone), the camera with optical image stabilization and its powerful 4 core processor. The funny thing is that after buying and spending some time with the phone I was very disappointed and those pros in the reviews actually were all cons. I haven't seen G4 but I will tell you what were the issues with the G3 so that you can be more careful when reviewing the G4 because I think some of these issues might be in it as well. First the display - this was the most disappointing part in the phone. Yes big resolution, yes very crisp but the contrast was awful , the colors was dull, the viewing angles was also bad for a phone. All my photos looked dull and washed away on this screen. So resolution is nothing. Anything above FullHD on a phone doesn't actually matter. Please compare it with the S6 because I think the amoled display on the S6 is much better and also probably the iPhone 6 display is much better. Then the camera - it turned out that the optical image stabilization did not work when making videos and that is by design. So all my videos were extremely shaky because there was no option for digital stabilization also. That made them almost useless, you know what you see on shaky videos right ! And then the performance - I got the bigger version with 3GB ram and tried everything I could find on the internet to speed the phone up, but all in vain because the phone was sluggish. At first it does not appear so, but when you use it for a while it becomes sluggish at least compared to iPhone 5s and 6 and also compared to my Lumia 930 (which I got after getting rid of the G3). Also please mention in your review how badly optimized is the launcher for the phone itself. Notice how big is everything - the icons, the text, notification, the space between the icons as if we are all grandpas and can't see smaller text. That means that you can see much more on one iphone screen than on G4's bigger screen, not to mention the Windows Phone, where I have 3 times more live tiles on the smaller screen of my Lumia. That is because the same launcher with small modifications is used on other phones and it is not optimized for the G4's large screen with large resolution, so in fact those features are not reflected at all in the launcher. I spend much time looking for a great launcher for my G3 and at last I gave up , sold the phone and got my Lumia 930 and I was instantly amazed how smooth it is and how beautiful the screen is. The same photos taken with the G3 looked much vivid on the Lumia even though I selected a color profile with natural colors.
Don't mean to throw you off the subject but I have a question for you I am a new subscriber to your channel, so I wanted to ask a quick question concerning a Nokia Lumia 1520 device I know it's over a year old but right now I can pick one up for $300 [never owned a nokia device] it has a 20 megapixel camera on it and at the time and still not a lot reviewers RAVE! about that camera, how would you compare that camera to the LG G 4 and would you pick that up for $300 if you had the chance to?
bootloop is when ur phone suddenly reboots and when its about to start again and show ur home screen it reboots again!! and this goes on forever! it never finishes rebooting,,
I am in love with this phone. i got one from ebay refurbished for $150 and it looks and works GREAT! And the camera......breathtaking. Combine the RAW camera format on the phone with Snapseed or Lightroom on the android and you have yourself a mobile photography studio.
Yoni Tan It's called Langdon www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/langdon The "Really Good" part is lowercase letters. When you capitalize the letters in langdon you get the basic font.
Looks like a great phone.! Especially the camera and display. I'm still not a fan of removable backs though. I like everything sealed. Hmm should i stick with my Sony z3???
kloverx muffin The battery life is super good If you use your phone throughout the day you can usually last about 48 hours on a full charge at least I do every once and a while if I have to use it more throughout the day like if im playing mobile games then it will last about a day and a half only sometimes less depending on how much it is being used Hopefully this helped
Krissy Love I have never had a problem with it overheating the only time it froze was when the phone was at 0 percent battery life the call quality and volume are both great in my opinion probably the best quality out of all the different phones ive had over the years for sure beats out the iphone 4s which is what I had before this one Honestly though if I were you I would wait a few more months to get the G5 BUT the call is yours hopefully this helped
from my two weeks of experience with the g4, the buttons at the back are actually falling into disuse since you can lock and unlock the phone by tapping the screen or using the knock pattern feature
G4 is here and here's what you should know! :)
***** I really love your videos!

***** Cool story bro.
Great camera, amazing screen, removable battery, expandable storage and leather customization... we have a winner here.
***** shitty interface, uncomfortable in hands.over saturated display he didn't talk about downsides
Wikum Wijesinghe I disagree with everything but the "shitty" interface, LG really needs to redesign it again.
AndRootPro yep that heavy skin may slowing down t he phone later, I hope they just make a Google play edition and I'll be good
Ollienova250
Yep,sAturater displays are beautiful.but need some balance
I disagree completely.

***** You're a real baller mate.
Although 1.8 is better, the crop factor on that sensor size won't make that much difference for background blur. Just a tiny bit.

LG G4 Rocks, no doubt about it. Pair it with a fast launcher like Smart Launcher 3 Pro and you're off to the races.
Nice quick review, I hate to watch long review vids but this vid is good. I'm getting G4 this year to replace my old phone. Thx.

Nice video man. 😁👍🏽 and what's best back case for lg G4 or that u tried so far?
Awesome work Jonathan, loving the sharpness!
For anyone wondering about the back buttons, it took me about 2 days to get used to them on the G3
