Sitting in Lincoln NH watching the snow fall gently. Snow slowed on its way north. Didn’t nearly get what our neighbors in the southern parts got but the skiers are happy enough! Love the new loo!

At 9.17 love the way the trim was cut and left a heart shape on the leading edge of the door framing. Never mind the kitchen the outhouse is the" heart "of the homestead.
Love the doors on the outhouse, nice and heavy. Should deter bear! Suggestion, place the toilet paper in a large tin coffee can. Doing this will help prevent mice from using the TP for bedding. Hardware cloth in areas along with steel wool will help keep out the small rodents.
The doors are perfect. Taking extra time to make your first building on your new land unique and not “just a shed” is uplifting. Plus, you modeled dealing with challenges to your daughter. Win/win.

Snow shoes and a emergency supply bag of food, warm dry clothes just in case you break down and get stuck way out their. Tell other family or friends when you go out their and when you plan to return. What happens if you break a tread or fall through ice and need to dry out fast. I remember lots of stories out west of people getting stuck in snow for weeks and dying. Not being paranoid just encouraging being prepared
I wouldn't cut a crescent Moon in the door, just make one and apply to the door. You can scorch the moon with a torch just a bit to give it some color before you attach it. Great job guys.

Good morning all! 🙋 Here in central Pennsylvania we got over two foot of snow! We are waiting for the sunrise to get outside at 22 degrees to blow us out. This is the most snow I have seen here drop in this area. The roads are shut down due to vehicles getting stuck in the roadways. Just a mess.

It looks Amazing Al, but yeah...those doors might have been overboard for a Loo...Still...it looks classy...needs a little walnut stain on those trim pieces and doors in the spring to make it pop, but man by that little pond...I think it works. :) You might want to put a little 1/4" stop plate on the inside flat edge of the loo door to prevent it from pushing in on those inside. It will help save you hinges over time.

what you need is a wood chipper, i've got 2 a small one for around the house and a industrial size one for around the forest, makes good chips for burning and i use it on the plant beds, but remember the acidity might ruin plant beds... also use it in the chicken sheds as bedding... many uses just got to keep the best stuff to one side and dry...
Good Morning Chet, our local feed store owner and chicken expert, told me chickens need water to lay eggs (which are mostly water) so if the water freezes they can't lay many eggs. So we got a heater to keep the waterer from freezing. Wow ! 15 hens and 15 eggs yesterday in frigid Wisconsin. the doors are great looking
You may need to get Grublies for your chickens again. See if that will help with egg production. 😊 I love the doors on the outhouse! I also love when you take a video of the shed from the other side of the pond. That’s always beautiful!

Don't forget door stops on the inside to limit door swing so the hinges don't get worn out or broken. And don't forget the Cresent Moon on the Lu side. For making trails you need to rent a Tracked Skid Steer with a Forestry Mulcher on the front.
Legend has it that outhouses back when many folks couldn't read, would have been marked for gender by a star (or sun) for men and a moon for women. ... Eventually the moon, long held as a women's symbol, supposedly became the sign for all outhouses, as they had become unisex over time.
Others here have mentioned a threshold for your Loo/shed doors. I was going to suggest you add trim pieces across the bottom of the doors to complete the "frame". Probably would need it anyway for a threshold. Looking good !!!

Good morning Lumnah family! Here in the south when the days get shorter we can keep our hens laying through the winter with artificial light. I read somewhere that they need approx 14 hours of light a day. I personally have used the light method and it works, however, now I just let the girls take a break from laying as I think it helps rejuvenate them.
I would swap sides on the shed. Pond side gives more privacy and road side gives better access to whatever you are storing there.

I had to add a threshold to our outhouse to keep the mice out, it's not fun when the tp is mouse bedding. Be safe with the storm coming.

I think a walled tent. It’s the fastest way to get shelter up there.

I love the "radius" doors. But I thought they were called "arched" doors?
The whole building has a great shape to it, the doors were a great 💡 idea from your wife. Looks nice amongst the trees 🌲 and water

We still have no snow where i live in Northern Wis. I don't mind though. I have never been a winter person. Can w see once in a while how your greenhouse is doing? Gives me a chance to drool over your fresh greens. I like the doors. Was worth the time. Looking forward to your new adventures.

Al Everytime you put one of those door locks on i swear you have them the wrong way round. Surely the mechanism should be on the inside out of the weather?

Good morning Lumnah family! Here in the south when the days get shorter we can keep our hens laying through the winter with artificial light. I read somewhere that they need approx 14 hours of light a day. I personally have used the light method and it works, however, now I just let the girls take a break from laying as I think it helps rejuvenate them.
