Man you got that awesome way to even make someone who's been using power bi for years wants to see your every single video and still get something out of it. great work really . 👍
This is an excellent video and helped me with what I was wanting to do. However, I watched the rest of the video and now I want to use sync slicers just because I like them. LOL. Excellent work, Brandon!
Great video! Tx. I have one question: when I choose multiselect in slicer, only first choice affects the visual while other selections don't. What effects this?
@@BrandonMichals Thanks for answering so quickly! I thought that my visuals are not affected by additional selections in the slicer (when you use the Ctr. key). Apparently, I found that the contribution of the additional ones that I selected was so small, it looked like it does not affect the visual. Next time I should select randomly (first, middle, last values) when I test the slicer. A lesson to be learned, no doubt.
hellow , how could we sync 2 hierarchy slicers from 2 different tables but which have the same values in the columns that are used in the respective slicers
In Power BI Desktop, select one of your slicers, then go to the Sync slicers pane, and select Advanced options. There you'll be able to enter a group name where you can sync the two slicers. Enter the same group name for each slicer. Please let me know if that helps!
@@BrandonMichals sadly the wont work , please allow me to go into more detail; lets say i have 2 identical date tables ( table A and B) ; if i make a hierarchy table with year and month from table A and then do the same for table B you cannot sync those 2 slicers with the Advanced options feature the feature only works if you use one column in a slicer not 2 or more ( like in the case of a hierarchy slicer ) or maybe i'm doing it wrong :( thank you again for your time and effort
Okay, thank you for the explanation. I think I understand a little better, but I still need a little more information to be able to help. What are you trying to accomplish by using two date tables and two slicers? Do you need to use both slicers to filter the same visual? Or does each slicer filter a different visual?

Thank you very much, so glad you liked it!
There’s a lot that goes into the slicers relationships between all the different categories! So cool that you can be efficient on it!
There's a lot for sure. I love how versatile slicers are when you really learn how to use them!
Best tutor on YB hands down! Thanks for your hard work Brandon
Very kind words, thank you Danny!

Thank you Joe Dougs! Haha, yes, the caret icon doesn't disappoint. :)
thank you so much. How did you add slicer for total expense and total income as no block is visible. ??
I'm sorry, I don't completely understand your question. Could you provide a little more detail?
i found it, sorry to confuse you. Thank you again for this video.@@BrandonMichals

Hi Hagar, I'm sorry, I don't completely understand your question. Can you explain in more detail?

Yes, Power BI requires an investment of time, but it's a powerful tool once you gain familiarity. Best wishes as you continue to learn! :)
How can I make two hierarchical slicers where their fields from different tables are in sync?
