Well, at that point it was fairly widely known what happened to German women unfortunate enough to be taken alive by the Soviets. Given what small amount I know of what the Red Army did on the way to raising the Red Banner over Berlin, I'd probably want a bullet too, at that point.
@Kirvi Rom Not so much the Western Allies, US and UK troops were heavily discouraged from fraternization of any kind, and those who did were often punished. The Soviet command turned a blind eye when their troops did it, seeing it as just retribution.
