I am native American I come from some of the most fierce warriors that ever lived. We fought against the US.that had cannons and repeating rifles with lances and bow and arrows and we were greatly out numbered. I think the hussars are magnificent and beautifully armed.I love the polish people for there freedom loving spirit.

The best cavalry Europe ever produced. My ancestors rode with King Sobieski at Vienna in 1683! In 1694 at the Battle of Hodów, 400 winged hussars stood up against the 40, 000 Crimean Tatars and defeated them. The Poles nicknamed the battle the ‘Polish Thermopylae’.
At Hodów there were 100 hussars and the main force were 300 pancerni cavalry. Let's not forget about them because they were like a workhorse of the polish-lithuania army but they are always in the shadow of fame of our winged hussars.

There was also a polish officer that converted to Islam during his exile from "Polish Kingdom" a puppet state under Russian control, came and fought in one of our uprising, survived and then returned back to Ottoman empire. But his name completely left my mind.

The Empire of Poland-Lithuania stretched east and west from Berlin to Moscow and from north to south from the Baltic to Black seas in the 16th century (aka 1500s) . circa 1688 King John Sobieski and his around 40,000 Polish Hussars defeated the Ottoman Turks who made Vienna in a state of siege, people starving, disease, no provisions could get through the walls around Vienna for quite some time . It was the closest that all of europe would come under a Muslim dynasty .
So how was Poland repaid by Europe ? In 1790 it was divided up between Prussia(biggest province of the Germanies) , Austria and Russia . Like all empires Poland's demise was due to many factors Poland would not become one entity or country again until just after ww1 .

Polish ''Winged Hussars'' were elite cavalry formation that was created in 1503 and was solved in 1776 by a resolution of Polish Parlament. They didn't lose single battle for 125 years despite the fact that in most cases they've been vastly outnumbered by the enemy forces sometimes even 15 to 1. The Polish ''Winged Hussars'' are most famous for their role in the Battle of Vienna which took place on 12th of September 1683. The defeat of the Ottoman army is often seen as a turning point for Ottoman expansion into Europe, after which they would gain no further ground. At around 6:00 pm, the Polish King Jan III Sobieski ordered the cavalry to attack. Some 25,000 regular cavalry and 3,000 Polish heavy lancers, the famous "Winged Hussars", rushed down the mountainside, straight at the enemy. It was the largest cavalry charge in history. The Polish King led the charge himself. It's also worth noting that the Poles were not alone. The battle was won by the combined forces of the Holy Roman Empire and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the latter represented only by the forces of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland (the march of the Lithuanian army was delayed, and they reached Vienna after it had been relieved)

Ta wojna domowa była tragiczna w skutkach dla przyszłych pokoleń... Polska została osłabiona, a Rusini sprzedali się Moskwie podpisując Układ Perejasławski. Ukraina do dzisiaj nie może się doczłapać do poziomu jaki ma Polska. A można było podpisać Układ Hadziacki, który miał utworzyć federalizację Rzeczypospolitej. Ale stało się tak jak się stało... ze względów emocjonalnych...
@@edeco9135 Через гордість поляків і їх впертість це і сталося, бо сприймали українців як рабів з яких можна смоктати ресурси і гроші, тому вони і не підписали Гадяцький договір, а в ті часи потрібно було з Кримським ханством укладати договір, але ніхто не продавався москві і по подіям коли Мазепа став на сторону Швеції це очевидно, москва плавно оккупувала землі і наплювала на колишні договори з козаками, тому ніхто не продавався, Польша просто хотіла щоб українці були під її рабством і надалі, а козацтво не хотіло йти і миритись з Польшею, бо судячи по подіям у Суботові Хмельницького, то козаків чекала тільки страта за визвольну війну.

Ukraińcy pod wodzą Chmielnickiego dokonali buntu, aby pokazać, ze są ludźmi wolnymi na równi z Polakami nie podoba im się jak są traktowani. Tyle, ze chłopi w Polsce byli traktowani tak samo. I tu uważam, że po części dużą winą była postawa kleru katolickiego. To ich wina, że doszło do rozdziału Polaków i Ukraińców.
Co do reszty mam odmienne zdanie. Jeżeli pisałem o sprzedaniu się, to właśnie tak się stało i sam to potwierdziłeś, tylko, ze nie masz tego świadomości. Podpisanie Traktatów z Moskwą, która tak i tak ich nie respektowała to de facto sprzedanie się. Możesz to inaczej nazwać ale nie zmieni to tego co się stało.

Polish Winged-Hussars were really beautiful military formation, not only undefeated during 125 years of existence (3-4 generations). Beside their bravity and personal skills, they had fascinating and very modern armament (it was like today's bomb A :) ). First they had special breed of horses (until now Polish horses, mostly for sport o recreation, have high prices on foreign markets) and their export was forbidden. 1 horse was worth 1 or even 2 entire villages. They were perfectly pretrained, eg. to not be frightened on the battlefield. They did use so called Polish saber characteristically curved with a special thumb ring (the benefits of this invention can be seen even in movies, eg. ruclips.net/video/FR976PhMbDM/видео.html or ruclips.net/video/ljExTEPNFnM/видео.html). The Polish saber is used even nowadays as a sport weapon and in special schools like this: ruclips.net/video/IGlgpslOaRY/видео.html . It was very effective kind of sabers so it was experted eg. to Turkey and some European countries. Extremely dangerous weapons were very long peaks (lances) of 5-6 meters. So that they could be so long, because of their high weight, they were hollowed out inside. In this way, they became lighter and stronger (more rigid). It was also an invention of the Polish Hussars and it is not very clear how it was done then. During the attack, Husar was able to fill 4-5 enemy soldiers at once! Of course, such a spike was no longer usable, so the squires of each knight of Husaria were carrying a supply of new lances. Each hussar was well armed, sometimes 2 guns, a saber and a ball. Helmets also had a special construction that gives high impact resistance.

If the Polish army, especially Hussaria, did not win that war "Battle of Vienna", then Europe would not be as it is. In this way, the Polish army, especially Winged-Hussars, has given Europe over 300 years of peace from Islamization.

W 1610 roku odbyła się bitwa. 2700 Polaków po całonocnym marszu robiło w pył 35000 przygotowanych do obrony Rosjan i Szwedów. Moskwa była nasza.

Nie jest to prawdą. Armię szwedzko-rosyjską nasze wojska zastały śpiące w namiotach i gdyby nie zwykły wiejski płot przeszkadzający husarii w rozwinięciu się do ataku, to nie byłoby żadnej bitwy, tylko rzeź niewiniątek. Mogę tylko dodać, że Husaria jechała całą noc i bez taborów (każdy husarz miał tylko jedną kopię, która po pierwszym ataku łamała się). a bitwa odbyła się pod Kłuszynem. Tylko, że tam był hetman polny Stanisław Żółkiewski ... :)
@@londragon5371 Szwedzi i Rosjanie co prawda spali sobie smacznie ale w momencie gdy Polacy zaczęli zajmować pozycje tamci przygotowali się do obrony. Polacy nie mogli wykorzystać zaskoczenia chociażby dlatego że podczas marszu siły nasze były rozciagniete. 200 piechoty i dwa falkonety przybyły pod Kłuszyn w trakcie trwania bitwy. A więc nagłe pojawienie się Polaków pod Kłuszynem nie miało absolutnie żadnego wpływu na przebieg bitwy. Wpływ na bitwę miało za to kilka innych czynników.
1. Doskonałe wyszkolenie i wysokie morale Polaków.
2. Niskie morale i kiepskie wyszkolenie przodków Putina.
3. Talent strategiczny Stanisława Żułkiewskiego, który tak potrafił manewrować Polakami że przeciwnik myslał że jest naszych znacznie więcej.

It destroyed elite units of that time with minimal damage.Armament and tactics are the space technology of those times.The cost of training and arming one hussar 70kg silver.7 meter lance empty inside,guided by hand but the back was of a holder mounted to the horse's saddle,the lance's impact was absorbed by the horse.up to 7 enemy soldiers were calmly pierced by lance.Hussar had 4 and more types of weaponry.Light armor for these times 14kg,Other armies 30-40 kg.Before using, the armor was tested for a musket shot.Armor did not limit the hussar's movements.Hussars are Something that no elite unit of that time could not stop.
