Starting from the one with the bottom grade and ending with the one who got the maximum points, one by one passed in front of the board to receive their exams. Moments were just sublime, and a wide variety of feelings shone through their eyes, from sadness to pride. Great music. Hails from Mexico.

However, in that film they forgot several characters. 1 Gonzalo fernandez de Cordoba, the spanish commander, decisive in the Fall of Granada , the Great Captain and the founder of the future spanish tercios or modern infantry,. 2 The famous jewish (under special protection of the Queen Isabela) that financed the expedition of Cristopher Columbus.
I cannot believe it's been 28 years since this movie was released and especially this great theme music. I never even knew Vangelis existed until then. And this has been for me one of the most inspirational pieces of music I have ever heard. I take my hat off to the great composer!

it isn't, the music and sountrack are awesome and epic, but the movie is shit. It contradicts itself multiple times, and paints Columbus as a person of vision, not to mention it made the fact that Columbus slaughtered mercilessly a bunch of natives into a myth, not even basing itself on history itself, but on what is thought in school. The soundtrack as I said is epic, but the movie itself isn't historically accurate, nor is it a good historic movie.
I agree the music is great but I don't remember much about the film. I don't think it's accurate enough about the real reason for the exploration, which is greed.

Españoles aventureros y con determinación, dispuestos a embarcarse durante varios meses en un viaje hacia no se sabía dónde. Como subirse hoy a un cohete hacia Plutón. Sólo entendible por un contexto en España, tras 800 de Reconquista cristiana de la Península. Esa inercia militar y de vida al límite tuvo mucho peso en esta historia. Y llegaron a un mundo Nuevo. Con gentes, colores, olores, fauna, flora, tamaños de todo totalmente nuevos. Increíble para ellos. Pero no se arrugaron. Nunca
El verdadero genocidio fue el hecho por las enfermedades que sin querer trajeron los europeos. Los indígenas por esta miles de años separados no lograron tener las suficientes defensas para enfermedades como la viruela y murieron en masa. This is an excellent historic epic movie, with a soundtrack masterpiece by Vangelis!
it isn't, the music and sountrack are awesome and epic, but the movie is shit.
It contradicts itself multiple times, and paints Columbus as a person of vision, not to mention it made the fact that Columbus slaughtered mercilessly a bunch of natives into a myth, not even basing itself on history itself, but on what is thought in school.
The soundtrack as I said is epic, but the movie itself isn't historically accurate, nor is it a good historic movie.
I agree the music is great but I don't remember much about the film. I don't think it's accurate enough about the real reason for the exploration, which is greed.

Soy americano criollo y llevo orgullosamente todas las etnias que nos formaron, los conquistadores del Paraguay y las guaraníes, cuyos hijos mestizos con solo cuatro peninsulares fundaron Buenos Aires donde vivo, literalmente ya que habito uno de los solares del primer repartimiento del General Juan de Garay, arribado al nuevo mundo con solo 14 años, pese a todo no me lo imagino lloriqueando frente a algunos comentarios, pidiendo silenciar palabras que hieren su sensibilidad.

Resulta absolutamente inimaginable para nosotros, habitantes del siglo XXI tecnológico, llegar a comprender lo que supuso una odisea así. Aquellos hombres eran hijos de su tiempo. Españoles aventureros y con determinación, dispuestos a embarcarse durante varios meses en un viaje hacia no se sabía dónde. Como subirse hoy a un cohete hacia Plutón. Sólo entendible por un contexto en España, tras 800 de Reconquista cristiana de la Península. Esa inercia militar y de vida al límite tuvo mucho peso en esta historia. Y llegaron a un mundo Nuevo. Con gentes, colores, olores, fauna, flora, tamaños de todo totalmente nuevos. Increíble para ellos. Pero no se arrugaron. Nunca

El verdadero genocidio fue el hecho por las enfermedades que sin querer trajeron los europeos. Me encanta esta película, de hecho la fui a ver al cine el 12 de Octubre de 1992, el día que se cumplían 500 años del descubrimiento de América. La música de Vangelis es realmente sensacional, hace que la experiencia sea aun mejor.
Y es un tributo del britanico Ridley Scott a lo que realmente paso. Colon no fue un racista, como dicen algunos enemigos de la libertad de hoy en dia.
