Team Awesome If you look close, you may see it still in the Hotwheel package hanging on the wall or sitting on a shelf. Probably same color as Kevins real one lol
Great example of expensive parts, assembled by guys who haven't made it to the outdoor course in a while. Looks great, id love to make it crawl better. Those wheels are quirky. Gotta love metal everything, and the tolerances seem tight. I remember my first 1/1 was a Suzuki Samurai. The guys in heavy, expensive, European soccer-mom SUVs, hated to see me beat them. :) When you test them, my money is on thre K1, then the Cr-18. Throw an scx24 in the mix, forget about it!
Nice review! I wish more cars came with the three wire servo setup. Thanks! 🙏💯👍🏻 That was definitely a quirky design on those wheels. 🤔😳😮 Be safe my friend!
That's a nice little truck it's got a lot of good qualities to it I think you got to find a way to raise it just a little bit but have fun with at my friend
gonna go with "not worth it" because of what can be done with a WPL on a budget. C-14/24 are about a 13.5 scale real world, oh well. I do like how this HG-18 is built, the rim+tire IS kinda crazy difficult tho. low front bumper hurts entry angle, WD-40 might help tire grip a lot. 230 bucks could be 3 *fully* upgraded near unstoppable WPL rigs.
I guess if you're looking for a fancy mini-scaler, this is as good as it gets. It looks like the closely-space tread in the center of the tire is holding it back. I know it's an unfair comparison (semi-faithful reproduction of a real vehicle vs. weird climbing spider monkey), but I'd rather have something like the HBX Devastator.
I mean if you add up the potential amount of money to upgrade it (if it came being plastic) then its not bad actually. Its just that kids wont be able to buy it right away at that price range. Not the best marketing route for entry people in my opinion
@@TomleyRC Well, the good thing is that you can replace some components and with a little bit of tuning, it should handle great. Maybe some RC4WD 1.0" would help as well
It's nice gov!! It IS pricey, but, quality wise, its slamming out the park! The front wheel is the weirdo factor on this one, what an odd way to mount front tires?! This one sticks out in the top ten of my choice for a mini crawler to add to my fleet of stepchildren! Looks like alot of fun. Cheers...👍💯
Awesome video Phil but there is no way that is worth almost 3 hundred dollars. The competition out there is a lot cheaper with just as good of a performance. I could go buy an AE cr12 for cheaper than that and AE is a HUGE name in RC alllllll over the world. Still a great video my friend, keep up the good work.
Nice review. Looks good but regardless of the metal parts, I'd really expect something bigger and faster for the money. I'm sure that someone out there wants to spend a load of cash on a little RC but it's not me!
I saw this on banggood as I'm actually in the market for a 1/18 or 1/24 scale crawler. Then I saw your video and while its really nice looking,I'd go with the 1/18 rc4wd gelande for basically the same price, lol. Nice video and good review as always. Thanx for sharing 😎👍
@@TomleyRC I was actually leaning towards that 1 as I like how you can change the wheels, bumpers, etc. on it,lol. Good to know there pretty good. I do like the new kyosho mini z 4x4 jimny as well, lol
Excellent review, it has a great look that reminds me of the 1/24 Kyosho, but at this price and considering the quality, it is better to invest in the Kyosho, moreover it is 1/24 and not 1/18 as they say on their website. Great video !!
Such a un honest review full of lies. For example in the driving part of the video he talks about the steering and points need to be adjusted but if you look closely it's just the crapy servo that doesn't have enough torque to turn the tires on obstacles
The Jimny certainly looks beautiful with well machined parts. if i do have the spare cash i would consider one, it is a good looking quality chassis and parts put together and impressive body which i wouldn't be able to easily pass! great vid man !
Wheels are odd. But I'm not a fan of lexan bodies. I would want a hard plastic body at that price. Ever do a review of the knock off Toyota High Lux? The HG-307? Or something like that. Seems like the best high dollar option.
It will be nice to see how it performs against the K1as that has oil filled shocks 🤔, it look really nice but the front bumper impedes it's approach angle
Holy cow that's crazy expensive for the model, shame though I like it lol but not that much to spend that on it, but that wheel design is definitely not for me lol, stay safe mate👍
Cool truck but $330 Canadian Pesos? Good googly moogly... no chance it's worth that much. Mini-Z is $300. HBX is $120. With a better radio I could see $200-250. Some of these Chinese companies must be making stupid money these days with the relatively poor quality and relatively high prices in foreign dollars. And nobody really expects any support... Oh well. It does look really good and those axles are sweet except for that donkey hub design. That radio, though...
Thats a hard pass for me, i can get a WPL C24 - KM for £65.47, with a v3 sound system at £28.04, and a Winch for £12.85 so the lot comes to £106.36 and will out perform this thing....
Too expensive compared to the Panda Tetra range. Also, with the risk of getting hit with customs duty when buying from China my money would go elsewhere. The wheels are also ridiculous which is a shame as they've got so many things right. I'd be more likely to buy a Panda Tetra and buy this body shell for it if it's ever available separately.
Have to agree with some other comments. Way overpriced and just can't do any real crawling/Trailing with these small scale crawlers. Just not enough ground clearance.
Cool review, Phil! The truck looks really good, love the colour, looks like Tamiya PS16! A lot of money, but well built, but I agree with you on the quirky design of the wheel fixings. Could be right up someones street, but I will stick with my lovely little CR-24! Keep safe mate! :)
@@TomleyRC hi i was wondering if you could help me. Thanks for your help.
It would have been nice if they put some thought I to the styling. While want a fricken tiny weak ass samurai. When you can do a jeep, toyota, scout you name it, anything would have been better than that horrible top and ugly wheels. But that can all be changed for more $. Not worth $200 for sure.
@@TomleyRC you are almost certainly correct. I find the mini z samurai odd as well when compared to the amazing little 4 runner. I think the samurai may still be popular in Japan. A think a 4 runner body on your little jimmy would be sweet, although I havent looked to see if the wheelbase matches up nicely. I'm not as disappointed as i am in the scx10 III body, so detailed and high quality but who needs another mall running Rubicon.
