I hate how people got offended that Logan was considerate enough of Rory's mother to ask her permission. Not because he thinks of Rory as property. But because he wants to know he has Lorelai's approval. Because he knows how close they are, and that he'd essentially be "stealing" Rory from her mom. Meanwhile the rest of the narrative is trying to say Career > Love and it just ain't so.
I like that he asked her permission. Just like the scene with Logan not wanting to come out without a shirt on, he respected her and her opinion of him.
I think it makes sense that he asked. Lorelai is a huge part of Rory’s life, and he got off on the wrong foot with her. Asking permission is an outdated custom, true, but it’s giving him a chance to try and make this huge step as smooth as possible, which I think was the point for him. If Lorelai said yes, he’d walk away knowing the two of them were on the same page. If she said no, he would have a chance to try and talk things out with her openly. Either way, I think he probably still would have proposed.
I kinda don't like that lorelai talked Rory out of marriage with someone that was perfect for her. it's not like he wanted to marry her that very second. they could have got engaged and married a little later. Rory and Logan are meant to be. it's sad that the revival didn't give them the perfect ending they deserved.

Rory and Logan are MADE for eachother and it just doesn't make sense that Logan would want to marry Rory one second and then the next he's prepared to leave her that just doesn't make any sense and Rory loves Logan couldn't she just say yes and then get married at a later date. I mean a wedding takes at least a year to plan in most cases and especially for a huntzberger, gilmore wedding it might even take onger so they could probably extend it to two maybe even 3 or 4 years IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!

Instead just whisk Rory out to California in a weekend and arrange a secret wedding at Napa Valley or under a Grove of Avacodo trees and live Happily Ever After. Return to Stars Hollow to a Glorious Wedding Reception at the Town Gazebo. Then cliff hanger... Rory gets a letter from the New York Times and San Francisco Chronicle and maybe the Boston Globe. She's already married to Logan but secretly starts to regret her decision. All of this happens after a few years down the road when Lorelai shows Rory those letters from New York and Boston dated the day she left with Logan. Oh well... Lovely thought. 🙂

True she hooks up with Logan in the reboot, but IF and I do mean IF She and Logan had gotten married, the thought would have stirred in her mind. As many Pro Con list she made, She ultimately was indecisive. Her Mother was No great help either. Lorelai always wants the approval of others, but at the same time the distinction of Standing on Her Own 2-feet. When she left home as a teenager that was By choice. Gratefully the people of Stars Hollow came to her rescue to Raise both Her and Rory. For me, I feel like Rory could have had it all, Career, Fame, and Family. Just think if the writers and producers of the Original show had Truly listened to the Fan base, then there be Little need for a To Be Continued reboot. Don't finish where You left off, instead continue the story from the current date and time. 😊
When he says the "...I have a feeling in the next couple of days you'll have moved on and forgotten all about this. Things will be looking up, I promise" and finishes with that smile... it just BREAKS my heart. Gosh.

Lorelia decision in relationships have always had a impact on the way Rory looks at relationships. Rory and her are different. The guys they like are different.
Looking back Loerlai was way to codependent and controlling with Rory. Loerlai keep saying Rory needed to make her own path, but Loerlai got annoyed when Rory made decisions that she didn't like, so most of the time she change her mind. Plus I think that secretly Loerlai wanted Rory to go to Yale so she could access to her all the time. If Rory got married and moved to San Francisco, Loerlai wouldn't be able to see her all the time because she would be far away. So I think that's why Loerlai talked Rory out of marriage.

Ah, I was so frustrated with this ending, Rory ends up denying herself what/ who she really wants because of what she believes is expected of her. Whatever happened to her attitude of being able to go where life was leading her. She values Logan and could have found good work in SF. Instead in the new series she is stuck, she does not have Logan. But must share him with someone else. Which makes her miserable, she also is not where she wants to be career wise. SF might have opened up doors and possibilities she never considered. She originally wanted to go to Harvard, but switched to Yale.

I don't understand why everybody is so sad about their ending! I mean, it wasn't even an ending, they were about 32 in the reboot. Why does nobody think about the fact that maybe she later told Logan than she is pregnant and he decided to break off the engagement with the other girl...maybe they got to be together after all...
I made up my own ending where she doesn't tell him about the baby right away and right before he gets married he realizes that Rory is the one he should be with so he goes back to her and sees that she is pregnant. He's mad for awhile because he thinks she wasn't ever going to tell him but then she is the one that goes to him and tells him that she should have accepted his proposal all those years ago. And then they get married and have kids!
Because they did them dirty. They completely ruined Logan's character development and made Rory into a complete idiot, they deserved so much better, I mean, what was the fucking reason to make them go through all that??? All just because they wanted Rory and Lorelai parallels? bullshit.
I wrote fan fiction with a completely different ending and character wrap ups for the revival. In my version he surprises Rory at Luke and Loreleis wedding he tells her he broke off his engagement and asks her to marry him, she says yes then tells him that she's pregnant. They have a girl btw named Lorelei Lane Huntzberger, they call her Lori. Two years after that they have a boy named Richard. I wrote different ending for all of the characters.

She didn't want to marry Logan because she didn't want to disappoint her mom. Rory is very impressionable and still immature and she desperately wants her mother's approval for everything. And obviously her mother did not like Logan, so Rory rebuffed his proposal 1. To please her mother 2. To get back at Logan's parents ("I'm the one rejecting your son, therefore your family"). She lost the best thing ever, she'll never find a man better than Logan.

it's really out of the blue kind of sooo too good to be true moment ... caught off guard lifetime commitment proposal ... (wishful thought ...to last a lifetime) ... the wonderful moment to moment they have as bf & gf while pursuing each other's careers have driven them to be better w/ each other...& this sudden twist of relationship status proposal that brought awkwardness ... clearly means that your relationship isn't yet mature enough to take to a more serious level ... hopefully you don't say goodbye only because it isn't the right timing ... you inspired each other ... stronger w/ each other ... yet the timing isn't perfect yet ...isn't just yet to take it to the more serious level.
I think asking for their blessing is better. Permission sounds like Lorelai owns her daughter due to how traditionally that stuff has worked (albeit usually with the dad). I don't think that's Logan's intention, however, ultimately his intention and meaning is noble.
“I love Rory, she means the world to me” i guess we never heard how Logan said about his feelings or Rory to anyone, and saying those words to Lorelai is showing how much he loves Rory ❤️❤️❤️

It was def too early for marriage for rory and logan..he should have just waited a bit. But he was considerate and kind,i like him he proved to be a decent person
it's really out of the blue kind of sooo too good to be true moment ... caught off guard lifetime commitment proposal ... (wishful thought ...to last a lifetime) ... the wonderful moment to moment they have as bf & gf while pursuing each other's careers have driven them to be better w/ each other...& this sudden twist of relationship status proposal that brought awkwardness ... clearly means that your relationship isn't yet mature enough to take to a more serious level ... hopefully you don't say goodbye only because it isn't the right timing ... you inspired each other ... stronger w/ each other ... yet the timing isn't perfect yet ...isn't just yet to take it to the more serious level.

I'm glad she said no she wasn't ready. Who would marry into a family that hates her from the begennong. She did the right thing by not marrying him.
I think asking for their blessing is better. Permission sounds like Lorelai owns her daughter due to how traditionally that stuff has worked (albeit usually with the dad). I don't think that's Logan's intention, however, ultimately his intention and meaning is noble.
