The Farion cap is crafted from soft red baize and adorned with a long silk tassel. The island variant, often called the Cretan uniform, features a shorter tassel. Well today I learnt something. As a retired serviceman, I fully understand that the history, traditions and Regimental "quirks" mean so much. 400 years of Ottoman occupation and 400 pleats symbolising this is just amazing let alone the other info given; brilliant! Keep it coming.
