Stitch along: Let’s celebrate the seasons with flowers!
Below is a basic outline of the project. Starting on the 1st September 2023.
Select 4 floral prints that represent the 4 seasons.. I’m starting with Spring but you can start as you wish! It maybe Autumn for you !
Cut each piece to size depending on how you wish to present them at the end. I plan to use a rolling pin .. rolling them up.. as the season finishes ! My floral panels are 11.5” tall x 8.5” wide
In my first video I show the 3 I have selected so far .. I’m still working on autumn, as I have not found something just perfect!
I then recommend a backing fabric to stabilise the pieces.. can be a long single strip or a piece cut for each panel of floral fabric. At a later date joined.
    ADD IN’s
This is a list of items added to the piece to complete it.. these items can be gathered and set aside throughout the year ready to embellish your panels!
    1. Add in a Critter.. select a bird or butterfly or bee or bug or animal that complements the piece ! Stitch it in!
    2. Words .. add a phase or poem.. about the season. Can be stitched or added as a preprinted element..
    3. Variety of threads and ribbons to embroider the flowers and critters…painting in threads
    4. Background fabrics little bits to make your piece look textured .. linens .. ticking.. silks.. cheesecloth!!
    5. Extras flowers.. fussy cut out extra flowers to add to your piece.. helps to create the extra texture.. bits for vintage doilies if they suit your panel. Pre-made flowers can be collaged into the panel
    6. Lace bits to add even more texture. Used within flowers or used in the background.
7 and finally beads and sequins to give your piece bling.. old jewellery can also be used.
I plan to post the videos as needed within my current projects.. we have three months per season so plenty of time. There is no schedule to follow just the change of the season.

Thank you Corrine for your video. I think I speak for us all when I say we appreciate all your hard work to give us videos so please dont overdo it and go mad trying to give us things to watch while you are at your retreat. We will survive , honest. It is going to be strange having just the birds left on this piece. It is glorious. I think splotches are best left the way they are.

I love your summer piece. It’s inspiring me for when it’s time for summer here in the US.
I love the color splotches throughout that fabric.
I hope you all have a lot of fun at the retreat. Safe travels. (Watching this on the last day of Feb 🤗)

You’ve got me hooked on muster dogs, season 1, great series, so interesting. My sons’ working in Rolleston at the moment, and had 200ish cattle come thru the village, kelpie dogs, cowboys and quad bikes, what an amazing dog/cattle whispering experience, everyone in the village came to watch at 7 am. thanks for the recommendation, can’t imagine doing it in our village😂 love love love this slowstitch, my new fancy needles have arrived, so I’m playing, 🎉❤

This is so sumptuous! I like the contrast of the ‘naked’ splodges against all the texture of the rest of the piece so I wouldn’t sew them if I were you. Please don’t burn yourself out by doing seven videos a week. I’m sure we’d all love a full week’s worth of videos but we’d rather have fewer than none at all.

sometimes I like to stand the big beads up. you sew them on the same way you would a sequin, (with a tiny seed bead to fasten it) but you MUST knot it 2-3 times on the back.
