Funny story. My first duel against Tearlaments was playing full power Spright. Put up a good fight, but he wiped my board turn 4 He lost due to time limit.
As someone, who never played the physical game, only ever heard these "Horror stories about the legendary mirror" and who also never really got into a top tier deck before: This mirror certainly is an experience. It's confusing, but I can see the fun. Some of my highlights so far: - Time limit win while I also had like 3 seconds on the clock - Regularly forgetting whos turn it is - "Wait, why do I get another search? Where does this card/ effect come from?" - One duel pretty much revolved around my singular Shaddoll Beast that got milled and shuffled back like a dozen times in the span of 2 turns
I play againts some of the funiest tear player in ranked mode, dude literally have full combo, insane mill and for some reason he end on redoer pass with 2 dead tear trap

On the other side, I faced this one chaos pile that milled like 30 cards to end on Saryuja, Colossus (not linked), Snow in grave and a 4 mat Apollousa. Decent board with a few problems... It was turn 2, but for some reason he decided to not attack over my two (flipped down) fusion monsters. He also kinda ignored the two Lost Winds that I got to clearly visible set during his turn. As the cherry on top, he shotgunned his Snow at the beginning of my turn.

Grass can still be a huge hit. I got blasted by Ishizu Tear Grass with a pretty big Thunder Dragon pack, Snow, and one Shaddoll Beast that i forgot its a Winda material so i got hit by Winda I played Ishizu Tear, but with no Maxx C since i dont like these cards in my hands. Can lead to opening hand full of bricks bricks but what can i do about that anyway
I can't count how many times I've accidentally double milled the same monster for fusion effect...props to people who keep track of this shit in physical format lmfao.
I can testify as a relative newcomer attempting to play Lyrilusc and Ghoti that it was hellish. I'm certain my opponents could see every bit of joy leave my face when they explained how I could not Solemn their combo due to "Chain Links" and that their boss monster would resummon itself after I used my entire hand to kill it. Point matches helped but not fully as a). Some Tear players would also lose round one or go 1-1 leading you to face them and b). If there were any odd number of players, you would likely get a bye and not get to play (i.e., the reason you were there). The fish could at least play D shifter.

the good thing about tear is that it's hard to play so i have already won against tear going second by outgrinding it with no floodgates or anything. just labrynth, normal traps and a dream
@@Xero-rr2ol Havnis is at 2, you aren't going to have it every single time, and you have to mill a tear monster or at least a ishizu miller. Yes they CAN play on turn 0, doesn't mean they ALWAYS play on turn 0.
The field spell is the most important card in the matchup along with dweller. Shufflers are mainly important for making the opponents mills unimportant
I love Tear's playstyle as I really like decks that interract with the graveyard a lot, so I decided that I would be farming the gems for this deck. I was able to collect 9k gems. In the 90 packs I opened I got like 12 ultras, 3 being Scream, 1 Scheiren and 1 Perlereino. All else was non related to Tear, so now after farming for months, sacrificing my free time for the very reason to be able to play this deck I like and happened to be competitive, I find myself with only half of the deck completed, 273 gems left and no UR dust left. Feels great, I swear
And now we witness a Homo Detritus attempt to play a completely broken deck that can carry absolutely everybody, but requires a functional brain to actually use.
The first thirty seconds of this video are how my 40+ pulls for tear cards have gone. I think I pulled 4 of that link and only 1 UR tear card. So I get to CRAFT them all now. :)
I'm not getting this sh*t deck, I have way better ones. 10 games against tearlaments, i only lost 3 with my train OTK or True Draco decks that I stopped using in current meta because they weren't good enough yet they are demolishing this sh*t deck easily. Never would have expected this deck was so easy to fight.
Sad day when if you wanna play the game your options are A) play Floo or exosister. B)play the godforsaken meta. Or C)sack them with macro cosmos-like effects or necrovalley
@@Ragnarok540 Yeah, I never read a single tear spell, trap or fusion that says negate lmao. Or any one that says shuffle or pop. This is only talking about engine, they also have a lot of generic fusions and 2 shuffle 3. Also bagooska and zeus when you try to break their board and they need to stall. Or elf to do it again on your turn, or all their traps starting plays in one way or another, or their field spell being one of the best archetypal field spells.
@@nonadqs the only ones that negates is the continues trap card, but it's easy to play around it's just a imperm, and rukkalos, but rukkalos negate effect is niche it's not a omini. It only negates a effect that would special summon a monster. Against spright for example it only works against gigantic and starter

Should have done those pulls with the mindset of wanting the Vernusylph cards. Then the game will give you every tear card plus, two royal tear cards and none of the vernu URs you wanted.

it was painfull to understand what the fuck was happening. i think all tear an ishizu cards should be limited to 1 just to avoid losing all that time. like victory dragon is banned so that judges do not have to deal with it, these cards should all be limited to avoid players have to deal with your opponent losing time on purpose, because they have 15 cards to chain with.

I played against Tearlaments today and i didn't have any hand traps and they went full combo and milled half my deck as well, and luckily I had Evenly Matched and Forbidden Chalice in my hand
it's really only complicated in the mirror, the deck is so oppressive againste verything else you dont really need to know what your doing. in dkayed's tourney yesterday there were a lot of bad players in the top 16 that got hard carried by the deck.
@@kauanjos3199 What about more casual players who realize they will never be competitive players because they lack the time/money/skill/interest to become a great player, but want to go to locals because they enjoy playing the game against other players? I know that I am never going to win my locals and that my opponents know more about the game than I do. I am fine with that. I also don't want to put hundreds into a deck that I will pilot worse than they will and that I know will be crucified on the next ban list, making investing in it a bad idea. This format was miserable for casuals and the game does need to appeal to less serious players to have any chance of growing/retaining their player base.
i love to play/play against control in magic but in yugioh its just stupid "floodgate into floodgate into floodgate" in magic you have atleast the illusion you can do something
I kill these decks easily with my train OTK. Seeing them forfeit when I bring out my xyzs is incredibly funny, or some even forfeit when I destroy their whole board.
Ishizu cards were a mistake, tearlaments are fine, the ishizu cards is what gives them mill power, if you play the pure version you see the deck is absolutely fine and not overpowered at all. The ishizu cards are the real war criminals here
I hated ishizku tear cause it waa boring to play, but im loving branded tearalment (with a bit of shaddoll) a lot. Might be weaker, but branded is one of my favorite archetypes and I'm too petty to let my opponent get their tear cards off of my ishizu cards on my turn in the mirror match.
Honestly this deck is so fun trying it for the first time since I skipped this format in the tcg. Not having to keep track of the cards physically is a blessing
Tearlament is what finally pushed me over the edge, making me start playing floo. After the tenth win I sort of had to accept that floo was actually kind of fun. And by that, I mean I am officially part of the dark side.
i start making anti-tear floo last night too for the same exact reason. it's too juicy to not make anti-graveyard floo atm when tear is roaming the meta.
I don’t understand why Konami makes these decks that require a master’s degree and half an hour to pilot. Why not just print a card that says “SPECIAL SUMMON BIG BOY” and just be done with the pomp and circumstance. I want to play yugioh before I go Grey

Who the hell thought it was a good idea to plague the game with goddamn full power Tearlaments? In a game where Grass is legal?
Grass is bad in Tear, especially with Tears and Ishizu's not all being at 3.
Not even full power, almost all Tear and Ishizu monsters are limited but still probably the best deck in MD
Tearlament is what finally pushed me over the edge, making me start playing floo.
After the tenth win I sort of had to accept that floo was actually kind of fun.
And by that, I mean I am officially part of the dark side.
i start making anti-tear floo last night too for the same exact reason.
it's too juicy to not make anti-graveyard floo atm when tear is roaming the meta.

I don’t understand why Konami makes these decks that require a master’s degree and half an hour to pilot. Why not just print a card that says “SPECIAL SUMMON BIG BOY” and just be done with the pomp and circumstance. I want to play yugioh before I go Grey
