Yeah I think people sometimes have the wrong impression that when they spot they need to be able to curl the bar off of you. I explain that they're not there for a catastrophic failure situation (I should be in a rack in that scenario), they just need to apply a few tens of pounds of supplemental force to help me back onto the rack. So long as I'm not waiting around 10 seconds for help, I should still be able to supply most of the lifting force (that said, one time I did have a spotter take that long to get situated and by that time I had nothing left to contribute and ended up just having to dump it to the side).
madworld109 Your ability to roll it down should be way stronger than what you’re benching, if it isn’t then you’re benching something you can’t handle.
@@Acetate. if you fail a bench then obviously it's more than you can handle. It's still safer to dump the weight to the sides than to roll it down your body with all that weight pressing down on you
@@Acetate. it's not that I can't roll it down, it's just easier and more comfortable for me to tilt it off to one side then slip out the other side. I do bench with the clips on (I worry that if I tip it without clips, the plates may fall off, and then the bar will suddenly be imbalanced and possibly flip to the other side).
Der Herr Larry is up to 130kg since he started Strongman. His 307kg press gives him a 2.4:1ratio. On the other hand, UF is 70kg with a PR of 186kg for a ratio of 2.7:1. Math doesn’t lie. Also, if you take into consideration f=ma, UF is off the charts as far as the force he generates. Physics doesn’t lie either.
Hey bro, be more safe than sorry, I think you should blur out your house address number , your channel is small now, but you never know with crazy fan or people.
If you work your way up to heavy weight then drop back down in weight, you’ll be able to do more reps after. It actually makes you stronger. If he went for 315 for 7 right away, he wouldn’t have been able to do it.
Hi, Kordon. Calculate your daily maintenance calories for your height/body-weight/activity level. There are plenty of calculators online. If all the food and beer calories you consume in a day add up to be about 200-300 calories less than your maintenance, you will lose roughly 0.5 -1 lb of body-weight per week. Try to eat 1 g of protein per pound of body-weight, and you will be able to build muscle while losing weight (especially if you are a beginner). Keep in mind that some studies have shown that alcohol can slow down muscle building, and if you drink too much you may lose quality sleep that helps with recovery. You can try to find a light beer that suits your taste, or maybe treat yourself to beer once or twice a week instead of frequently. Beer isn't bad for you in moderation!
