I am from North Dakota and it is terrible. This winter was below freezing. There was a storm today with hail lightning thunder rain, so don’t move to North Dakota.
Besides the obvious (cold), the less known are the increasing flooding in just about every city. A mad dash from Calif to N Dakota will enrich those selling homes now, but once locals seek to trade up for growing families, forget about buying a place at an affordable price. Poverty just around the corner.
I'm guessing that the people of ND would not like a huge influx of people from Cali or the West Coast. ND residents are great people and they like their small towns small.
