No disrespect intended. But after having seen Harvey and Bancroft in these roles, nobody was gonna measure up. It was just gonna be this huge hill to climb. But I know the next Arnold and Ma are out there. They’re definitely out there. But these two weren’t it.

Yikes. Not good. Shocking as I think of Mercedes rule is being extremely talented but she has none of the actions of a Jewish mother. Of course, following Estelle Getty and of course the marvelous where's the marvelous ann bancroft can't be easy, but you gotta give it a shot. The male lead has none of the appeal as Harvey. Is the whole thing was flat.

Thank you so much for uploading. I was a closeted gay teen when I saw the original on Broadway, and it changed my life.
She was the much better actor - so much raw emotion in her dialogue as Ma.
