I tried the wool pad with a long throw 22”. It left holograms. Not many but yes, It left some. I used HD Speed as a AIO. All in all, it is a great pad. Fast results and less stress to the body. Love it. Thank you Scott for the insight. Had to polish out with a orange foam pad on the spots in question with mirror like results.

I bought a 12 Pack of 6 yellow-med and 6 blue-coarse for $145 from Auto Detailing Solutions and absolutely love these pads. Like you said they work with all kinds of machines and polishes, even though I started out only using them with my Rupes Mille, I've found them to be very versatile.

I bought some of these pads last year after seeing this video and finally got round to using them. I used with an AIO, in my case the new Turtle Wax Ceramic Polish, and got amazing results. I was just aiming for an enhancement as the paint was pretty decent anyway on my car, but I got better than I was expecting correcting and real boost to the gloss levels. Thanks for the tip even if it is a tear late!

these wool pads are way better than foam, i love them, they work so mush faster, can polish out with them using a cutting compound like meguiars 105. , so much cooler surface temperatures. i even use the P & S detailing brand knock off (rupes are the originals) wool pads at $15 ea and they work just as well. scott try the P & S brand. im using this product on new paint, im a hot rod painter and restoration, i sprayed 5 coats of clear and wet sand 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 grit then meguiars 105 cutting compound and im done! of course with these awesome new school wool pads, so easy to clean as well

    • @bpsdetailing8822

It works great with the 3401. I like the Lake Country Hybrid Blue pads for the 3401. They discontinued them but you might be able to find some at autogeek for about $4 each. You will also need the 4 inch backing plate for the 3401 also at autogeek on sale for about $20. If you want to stick with the standard 5.5 inch backing plate just go for some 6.5 inch pads and you will be set.

    • @bpsdetailing8822

Yes the Rupes Medium finishes down with polish better than any other wool pad I have used. You could do the whole car with one pad if you are cleaning it after each section pass. I would rather use several pads lightly than one pad heavily though because it will make all of the pads last longer.
