The best part of this is Vinny voicing Leg Horse's snooty nobility lines like some cheap cartoon character. Not only does the guy go from being a normal, humanoid prince to being a fucking amalgamation of dismembered legs sown together in the vague shape of a horse, but he can't even sound serious anymore because now he sounds like a Hanna-Barbara reject.
I literally can not see it any other way. Probably because the outline of the edge is really strong, so that you can't really perceive it as an edge of the leg, but as a mouth.
I love Space Funeral's music. I don't know how the creator found these songs by the BBC studio band from the 60's-70's. I tried finding more from that era, but my search only ended in dead ends.

TSMSnation To be fair, pseudo 16-bit is not MS paint, rather MS Paint is often used like this. It was originally made for really detailed image making and making the windows for programs, and things like that. I have a Windows 3 guide book, and some of the artwork it was intended to make is beautiful. This has a lot more pixels in it, rather than the pseudo 16-bit of Undertale. And there have been other games with battles that don't have to end by fighting! I haven't played off, but these three games aren't the first ones to do it, they just execute it very well. I know it's been two years, but the bit with MOON suggests pretty clearly that it's actually a criticsm of modern art; it's saying stuff that's weird and formless (like this game itself) is only made like that because the artist couldn't make something worth looking at so they deliberately fuck it up, making something ugly to spite the beauty they can't replicate. Which I'm not sure I agree with.
TOASTEngineer I once hearf from another that MOON is supposed to be creators using RPG Maker and using their own sprite, just to find it clashing with the default graphics. They then change everything to their original art style, despite it looking ugly, which is why the art style is like this.
You know you're playing a good game when it's only been an hour into the game and you're talking with Dracula about pianos and weed in the snowy wilderness.
I can not say how ecstatic I am to see you play Space Funeral. It was one of the first 'weird games' I played and it was great seeing you hit all of the same 'okay then' moments as I did.
The ending caught me off guard honestly. It's....an oddly wholesome game, actually. And I vibe with the antagonist of it all, it's a genuinely super genuine story, even if it's all so fucking strange. Love thecatamites, man...
This has maybe the best battle music of any game I've ever seen. Reminds me of '70s cartoons, like by Rankin-Bass and stuff. And now I want someone to make a game in that style, somehow.
This game certainly feels like an old 70s-60s animated film with its style. Especially those films that have the trippy art style but given a darker and more horror-themed tone
The Lion Village and all the zanyness in it might be a reference to the Lion Man comics by J.Chastain, who is a friend of thecatamites and drew the graphics for Goblet Grotto. The comics contained a lot of strange stuff about lions. A lion village with lions growing out of the ground would be one of the least weird things in it.
I get that the humor is somewhat similar to Undertale's, but I really don't see how you can compare this to Undertale-- they're both just so different and fantastic that they shouldn't be compared to one another.
+theEnd612 It's just because Undertale is the hip new thing all the kids are talking about. So all the bitter hipsters who don't like popular things have to make fun of it because they think making jokes will get everyone's panties in a twist. Menacing Mark It's just fascinating how people become when they have an opportunity to talk to vinny live. "I MUST USE ALL CAPS AND SPAM THE SAME MESSAGE OVER AND OVER!!!!!!"
This game beautifully demonstrates why atmosphere is so important for an RPG. Not a lot of gameplay, not a lot of dialogue, and a simple story, and yet it still manages to be so damn memorable.

I wonder if Moon is named after the RPG. It would make a lot of sense with the meta plot (an RPG maker project is hastily retooled to be like something more popular), and it would explain why people keep talking about Undertale since that game is also heavily inspired by Moon.

Imitates the bars of an enormous prison
And a silent throng of loathsome spiders come
And weave their webs inside our brains
Then suddenly, the bells swing angrily
And hurl their hideous uproar into the sky
Like a band of wandering spirits who wail relentlessly
And long hearses, without drums or music,
Move in a slow procession through my soul
And defeated Hope bursts into tears
And the fierce tyrant Anguish
Sets his black banner on my bowed head”

I really liked the main villain's motivation, actually. Good game, good stream.
LITERALLY BEST GAME

So glad he played this! One of my favourite games.
I am shocked Vinny didn't recognise that bit of guitar when 20th century boy appeared. Its from the intro of a Queen song, hammer to fall i think. Will have to check when im finished watching this :P
If anyone doesn't know, the victory music is "Sleepwalking." Probably not The Shadows' version, there's a lot of covers out there. Modest Mouse did a good one.
What do you do Dracula
+Cheezball8
I am DRACULA.
I like to drink the blood.
*****
Yes! Ha ha ha! Very good! Yes!
+The Pixel Tower what are you 10
late reply, but I looked it up and the term vamp in music is a recurring riff. basically Phillip says that dracula plays the same thing over and over
dang catamites, going deep.
One of my most favorite weird games. I am so glad you played this, it was so fun watching the stream.
Underrated video, deserves way more rec
Tbf it’s one of the top results of Space Funeral
After he played Goblet Grotto I hoped with all my heart he'd play this. And here it is.
THERES TWO SKULL CRABS SPOOG, SPOOG
BRUH-AUGH
34:45 The internet knows what that comment is from, Vinny
I've never played this game but after watching Vinny play it I love it! The music and story are all really good but very surreal.
I hit “Like” on this video even before I watched it. That’s the amount of trust I put in Vinny.
Chat in a nutshell:
Am I late to the undertale stream? (Kappa)
+THEREALSPARTAN9001 Gee you sure seem to like talking about chat on youtube
Menacing Mark It's just fascinating how people become when they have an opportunity to talk to vinny live.
"I MUST USE ALL CAPS AND SPAM THE SAME MESSAGE OVER AND OVER!!!!!!"
***** He has no style,
He has no taste...
+SirrOzelot oh hello main troll of vinny's channel :D
+SirrOzelot undertale WAS cool, that is until it changed it's graphics to black and white and became an rpg.
I love his shaggy voice
the plot twist at the end of Space Funeral > the twists at the end of Fight Club + Sixth Sense combined
i like rewatching this stream around halloween time. this was a great one to catch live, can't believe that was 6 years ago now
hmm...
this could be of value to me...
yes....
most value.
For those who don't know, the guy who made Goblet Grotto made this
+Apollo9898LPs Vinny mentioned that in the video :/ (just saying)

"VENGEFUL GHOUL disintegrates in agony." had me reeling.
This game beautifully demonstrates why atmosphere is so important for an RPG. Not a lot of gameplay, not a lot of dialogue, and a simple story, and yet it still manages to be so damn memorable.
I first played this when I was very ill and semi-psychotic, just like the guy who made this probably is. Great fun!
the musics in this game make me feel depressed
Deachuu it makes me feel better.
but not by much.
It unsettles me
Could you please not use that "rip the skin" line and everything connected to it so nonchalantly.
You got me bursting in tears when you dropped it so casually. I can't ever find those sides again
5:26 I can imagine the spooky arm walking away saying:
"im too good for this shit ┌( ಠ_ಠ)┘".
GOOOOOOOOOOOD I'M SO GLAD HE FINALLY PLAYED THIS.
i love this stream so much. I remember when it was just a young bab.
love you vin. you are so awesome
I am KILL-THE-SELF, and I have crippling depression.
Do you know any good places to buy rope?

This was the first stream I saw vinny play live. I remember when everyone lost their shit when vinny brought up the orgasm man in his back to school song. God this stream means so much too me
I wonder if Moon is named after the RPG. It would make a lot of sense with the meta plot (an RPG maker project is hastily retooled to be like something more popular), and it would explain why people keep talking about Undertale since that game is also heavily inspired by Moon.
Vinny is slowly turning into Joel this stream
I just found this game and it already looks so interesting
That Dracula convo is legendary.
The music in this game is pretty sweet.
