Very nice video indeed! I've been adjusting valves on and off for 50 years since I started driving/motorcycling and I've always adjusted way too loose compared to how you demonstrated, the correct method. I'm servicing my diesel generator tomorrow, post break-in; this includes valve clearances. I'll be interested to note any differences in engine noise when I finish. Thanks for the video, very helpful.
Hi there. My friend am trying to get the information the much I can. Because am adjusting my valves and clearances of my zx6r 2005 Kawasaki. Buy am not lucky to find the right mesure. You can sent me I tip. To proceed? Thank you so much. Your video helped me to figure out more. So keep helping bikers out there. Thank you. Blessings from los Angeles California. Part of pasadena.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🙏🤝🤝
Little something I'm going through, if all of your exhaust valve clearances are too tight, keeping the valves noticably open, you will have glowing red exhasut manifold over time. My VQ3.7L vhr is supposed to be between 0.011-0.015... all of them are 0.008 after lapping the valves. Im a rookie
My bike is having a hard time to stay on idle when the engine is cold... I have to pull the choke and once the engine is hot enough the bike idles... And also my bike is not idling smoothly
I don't know what bike you have but most probably it is spark plug or carburettor related issue. Remove the spark plug and inspect it's condition. Strong spark is very crucial for smooth idle. If the spark plug is fine, then proceed to cleaning and turning the carburettor. Correct fuel and proper spark I all it needs!
Fixed it finally, it was actually the valve because I also thought the same regarding the carburettor and spark plug I changed both but still it existed, but finally a mechanic identified the issue was from the valve and replaced it... It's working fine now.. thanks anyways@@TheAbJGarage
anual suggests every 2nd or 3rd service you have to check valve clearance and adjust accordingly. no service center does it as they are not confident of their work plus they will only do it if there is a sound
Wrong valve clearance cannot directly cause oil leaking. However, if the valve clearance is too tight or too loose, it can cause engine performance issues such as poor fuel efficiency, misfires, and increased wear on engine components. This increased wear can lead to oil leaks over time. Tight valve clearance in conjunction with bad valve seal can cause oil leaking into the cylinders. Wrong valve clearance alone won't!
I don't think so! Valve clearance issues are not known to cause a no start situation unless they are extremely off, which usually happens after cylinder head reinstallation. Please look for either fuel or ignition related problems, those are known to cause no start situation
Taken ages to find this information in such a forthright manner ; straight to the point & no drivel - Thank You

How would oil get in the cylinder from the valves?

Good Question
Recommended every 60k miles in my 2016 Kia Rio. It's a complex procedure on a DOHC VVT engine.
Indeed!
Well expland
Thank you very much!
How can i tell if the valve adjustment was performed in my car?
The only reliable option is to measure the clearance and confirm yourself! If you hear increased tapping obviously the clearance is out of order.
@@TheAbJGarage That is what I was afraid of, thanks for the reply.
My engine is not starting would it be because of this

@@TheAbJGarage what should i do i just did a gov delete and added a flywheel with stock key and carb there is spark and fuel
@@TheAbJGarage i checked the valves and the right one was off the rodi pit it back on but did not adjsut it
