Love that you are reading translated literature. I have a soft spot for Japanese translations and German literature, in German unless it is pre 1800's, then translated.
I want to read more, I do enjoy translated works
I also loved Tinted Cup, I have it on audio book and I have listened to it 3 times! I must get the physical copy and get the second book.
I also enjoyed the Thursday murder club books too.
🍄🍄🟫
The second book is due out in April! Looking forward to it 😀
I just got a copy of Empire of the Vampire last month... really looking forward to reading it this year 🤗🍄
Oooh I look forward to your thoughts

Ooh some amazing books on here!! I've been meaning to reread Addie LaRue for ages! My Dark Vanessa is a brilliant book, Piranesi and Jonathon Strange and Mr Norrell are of course perfection!
So excited to find your channel. So many of my faves are on your list so I'm excited to read some of your recs that I haven't read yet!!
Im so glad you enjoyed the video! I hope you have a great reading year
What a list!!!
It was a good reading year!
Maybe instead of focusing on books read you could try to focus on average pages, if you’re trying to focus on longer books! Reminding me that I’ve gotta get my hands on the Last Tale of the Flower Bride! Gideon!!! ❤also can’t wait to try Tainted Cup!🍄
🍄so lovely!
Thank you!
I'm sat and ready to check if we have any books in common! Though I veer more towards high fantasy and don't read a lot of thrillers, but we definitely have enjoyed some of the same cozy books. 💜
Oh, I have T. Kingfisher, the Veronica Speedwell series and Empire of the Damned on my list! 💜 And I've had some of your others on my tbr for ages
And I've enjoyed Gideon and Spellshop too. And The Tainted Cup is on my Best list. For some reason I think I've thought our reading preferences have a bit less in common! ❤
There have been so many great books this year! Im glad we matched on a few. I can't wait for A Drop of Corruption
🍄 ive read so many good books recently its overwhelming. But i wanted to comment on scifi. I loved scifi as a kid but kind of forgot about it. But im on a journey similar to you, i read becky chambers, then murderbot. Then a few days ago jumped into annihilation. If you haven't read it, i HIGHLY recommend it. Its very polarizing? But also a short book. I gave it 5 stars. I wouldn't even read a plot synopsis tbh.
Completely agree that spell shop isn't a romantasy. I found the romance to be the weakest part.
Favorite reads in 2024 off the top of my head, fools errand, bear and the nightingale, daughter of the forest
I also enjoyed Annihilation, I'm looking forward to finishing the series (hopefully this year?).
Im glad you enjoyed Daughter of the Forest
Thank you 🍄
You are so welcome 🥰🥰
Love the stats! I 100% agree with your thoughts on Kingfisher. I need to continue with their backlist this year. Where would you recommend starting with Algernon Blackwood? I want to read The Willows as I really enjoyed The Hollow Places. This is the year that I will start A Curious Beginning! I'm determined. I am so excited to see You Let Me In on your list. I love that book! I Who Have Never Known Men intrigues me but I'm a little intimidated by it. I need to continue on with Harrow the Ninth. The Tainted Cup!!! Ahh!! Such a great list here!
The good thing about Algernon Blackwood is that as they are all short stories it's easy to start anywhere. The collection I found with The Willows in was Roarings From Further Out.
It was a good reading year!
🍄 Lovely review! A cat called Thomas Cromwell… did I hear that right? Reminds me to catch up on Wolf Hall 🐺
Haha yes! It was great
It is really hard to choose one book as a favorite. The one that stood out the most from 2024 was Shark Heart by Emily Habeck. 🍄
@@tibbarasden ooh Shark Heart! I've heard great things
I have added so many of these to my list. 😂
Always happy to extend a tbr!
@ReadingNymph 😊
(1) Both of us want to read less in 2025 🎉😂 (2) I love that you want to read more sci fi!! (3) I Who Have Never Known Men was just placed on my radar recently, so this feels like a sign I need to try it. (4) THE TAINTED CUP, YESSS. Also great nods to A Study in Scarlet! 🍄
I Who Have Never Known Men is so powerful, definitely worth a read!

Thank you for watching ✨️

Thank you lovely! I hope you had a great start to the year
@ReadingNymph thank you attempting mood reading which is intresting feel i may cave and start planning soon!
Love all your stats as well and the gothic cosy mix is brilliant. Spell shop I resisted pre-ordering last yr, i may treat myself to tue paperback though. It had me at sentient plant! 💜📚

Thank you!
Maybe you could do a Gothic backlist vlog, rather than new releases, that way you're working through your tbr as well. You could try A Memory Called Empire, if you want to read more involved sci-fi. I've just started The Tainted Cup 🍄🟫🍄
I tried a Memory Called Empire a while ago, I couldn't fully get into it. Maybe now I'm enjoying Sci-Fi more I could re try it 🤔
@ReadingNymph It did take me a minute to get into it. Another good one is Nophek Gloss, I loved the characters but it is more of a fast paced, political sci-fi.
🍄
✨️ thank you Leanne
