Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included ruclips.net/user/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.
This is very pretty. I like the simplicity of it. Very different from what I’m used to seeing from you. I’m glad you added a touch of gold! As for the oven cleaner used to strip wood furniture, I’m a hard NO on that. Mainly because it is made for non-porous surfaces like an oven or a broiler or maybe a grill. Oven cleaner is a very harsh chemical and we don’t know what it will do to wood over time. I’m glad you tried it so you can say you didn’t like it! Thank you for another delightful video!🌸
Deborah, you echoed my thoughts exactly about this technique. The result is wonderful, but like you, I believe the oven cleaner could possibly continue to act on the wood over time.
Fire hazard too?!
Love how the AnneSlone Cocoa chalk paint wash tones down the orange in the wood and showcases the wood grain! Lovely natural neutral transfer Dresser!
Thank you for having the most professional videos our there. You have all your materials ready not searching around while filming, you don't talk with anyone in the background including the live comments, which is distracting and you don't dwell on speaking about your personal life. Most of us are watching to improve our skills and get ideas on products and finishes for our businesses. Some other teaching videos (who want us to pay high dollars to view the unprofessional videos), I just fast forward to the end due to the distractions and I don't watch them live for those reasons. Most importantly you have 1 video with the complete process and the piece shown completed at the end. Thank you for sharing your talent.
I remember my mom had ash wood kitchen cabinets that were avocado green and I remember for years under the built-in oven was a wide streak of bare wood. I asked her what had happened and she said the oven cleaner stripped it. Lol! I told her to spray all the cabinets because the 1970 style color needed to go!
No matter what style you go for, the results are beautiful! Loved this.
There’s so much sophistication and beauty in simplicity. Lovely 😊
I enjoy watching an artist work and instruct while teaching. I haven’t seen anything that you’ve created that i didn’t consider excellent. Thank you Kacha. Such an unique project, probably the dresser was manufactured in the 1800s.
So glad you tried the Oven Cleaner strip, could not understand why anyone would subject themselves to that.
Because it is cheaper than paint stripper
You have great eye for style, your pieces always look good
I will 'fell up that I laughed out loud when I saw this--many years ago I thought I was doing my mom a favour when I was dusting her furniture. The cloth was getting so dirty that I went to her (can of dust spray in hand) and asked if she ever dusted her furniture. She was an insanely good sport as her response was 'yes, but I rarely use Easy Off.'
😲

So beautiful! Really beautiful piece originally! The only thing I would have considered differently is to paint the wooden handles with the cocoa wash...
Love that you let the natural grain show through...I'm a purist at heart, so when "shabby chic" came along I was okay with it, because it wasn't completely covering the wood!!!...really like the stencil it goes with the whole "woodsy" theme!!!...please do more of these kinds pieces!!!...loved how it turned out, I'd buy that!!...
So pretty and simple! The wash, knobs and transfer are perfect❤️❤️❤️
I really love the natural look with the transfer and the pop of gold, very pretty.
I love the transfer. It would be perfect in my best friend’s bedroom. We’re 75 and have been friends since we were 6. We’re both widows so always helping each other at our homes. Thanks for inspiration 💕💕
This method is good for spring and summer projects outdoors. The piece itself is one of my favorites that you've done I think. Thank you love!
Hi Kacha, Your pieces are always so beautiful. But I must say this piece calmed my soul. Yes, I know that sounds dramatic but it really is the only way to describe how I feel when I look at it. Three deaths in the family in the past four weeks have caused me great emotional turmoil. This has helped because it is soothing and gives me a direction for my own furniture. Thank you.
This piece looks SSSSOOOO beautiful simple and lovely..
Very nice outcome. I am impressed with the thinned coco color, and the application process, really pretty neutral on the wood. Great job!
I found a way to save my expensive paint brushes after I've forgotten to clean chalk paint out of them. I get a solo cup of hot water and steep the brush in it much like a hot tea. After clearing out the paint I thoroughly rinse in warm water and dip the brush back in the cup that has hot water and a bit of fabric softener in it. Rinse again quickly in cold water and shake water out of it then pat with paper towel. Brush is good again!
Love this piece very elegant the simplicity of this piece looks very elegant❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My first thought was, "Dang, oven cleaner is extremely is caustic and nasty stuff to work with" ... but my second thought was, "Well, regular paint stripper isn't exactly baby shampoo." 😕
Oven cleaner fumes can be overwhelming even with a respirator, but the effectiveness of removing that old finish is quite impressive!!! I still think I'll stick with the old reliable strippers that don't require hazmat equipment to safely remove.
I love the paint-wash effect on the open grained oak; and the transfer is beautiful on the tinted wood grain, and the wax was the perfect enhancement to the entire piece. The results are subtle yet lovely, classic, and elegant!!! Thank you for sharing this! ❣️
I've been using oven cleaner for over 15 years. You can use fume free and you can use the cheap stuff from Dollar tree and it works as well. This product is great to use on greasy workbenches that are great antiques and it will take several cans and then you can use a pressure washer. A pressure washer and oven cleaner together are the best and fabulous for really nasty jobs.
Sounds like good advice! I will try!
What about the toxic chemicals that are absorbed into the wood, then released in your home? Or the chronic toxic effect on aquatic life when you wash it off into the waterways? Have you researched the chemicals in these products and their effects on your health, the health of your family and/or pets and the environmental impact?
Same thing you can do with Mean Green and other stuff with much less toxic chemicals and fumes because even fume free is not 100 percent fume free and it is still toxic and can damage the wood.
@@jessicabeckingham3039 Most furniture and products we buy already releases toxic chemicals, that's why like everything and their mama has a cancer label on it in CA.
Another amazing furniture. I love the way it all came together.
Thank you!!
Wow!! Your dresser turned out so very beautiful!!
Never understood this trend. It’s every bit as messy as paint stripper. It’s not made for wood. It’s just caustic chemicals, of course it strips finishes, it’s caustic. Keep it for the oven. Glad the dresser came out well.
I won't even use it on my oven😨
Awe I love your dog he/she is adorable! I love bullies! This is a beautiful project!
Love that your puppy was helping as mine supervise also 🤣😍 can’t wait to try this!!
You never disappoint! Beautiful!🤍
Beautiful piece! I love the simplicity and how neutral it is. I love the transfer!
Thanks for trying this hack for us. I agree the fumes would be too harsh. Love the paint wash together with the transfer. Great compromise for those who love to see the wood grain. 💖💖💖
Beautiful! I love the natural wood sometimes even though I’m also all about the paint.
It has quite an Oriental look about it now. I really love it!
What a beautiful neutral look and transformation to share Kacha. The coco paint by AS is awesome. The transfer is gorgeous, and hardware is perfect. The oven cleaner is not worth it as shown. Thanks for always bringing a smile to my face when looking at your videos.
Love the transfer!
Beautiful..so eye catching. What a lovely piece. You do great color work but this neutral dresser you knocked out is so beautiful. Please do more if you wish 😍
This piece turned out so beautiful! I thought it was ironic that the oven cleaner said "fume free"!! Thank you so much for sharing
The fumes may have actually come from the chemical reaction with the wood varnish. Oven cleaner is designed to break down grease and burned on food, so it probably has a very different scent when used properly. I'm concerned that we don't know if toxic fumes are being created by the combination of cleaner/varnish. So happy Kacha used a respirator!!
@@therealJamieJoy Actually the "Fume Free" is still very potent and have a strong smell when used in the oven.
When used under normal conditions. That is how they'd test the claim
Congratulations on your plaque! I love your videos. This dresser turned out beautiful!
Never in my life have I used mask when cleaning my oven but since I saw this can remove varnish from a piece of furniture I'll be using a mask, for sure. Even though in Europe we have different safety rules, I'm convinced I'm risking my lung's safety using these products!
Geez, now that is one scoop! Anyway I'm in love with your new design ;)
Cleaners can cause just as much damage to lungs as smoking.
Did you know that Easy off has FUME FREE oven cleaner ? It's great!
Beautiful. Love the print. Lovely.
I am binge watching you today on my day off. I love this piece. I hate oven cleaner and would never use it on furniture ( not a relaxing experience for me). You did a fantastic job as usual.
Thank you for watching!!! ❤️
So sweet with the little birds transfer. 😍😍
I love how this piece of furniture turned out. So lovely! Great job!
Hello Kacha, the wash looked lovely. A perfect shade, watery but enough to take the orange out of the wood. Lovely!
I have this same chest of drawers. I'm so glad I found your channel.
Beautiful! I love the birds!!
I tend to like the more natural pieces better. This turned out beautifully!
This piece is amazing! You have incredible talent.
Beautiful! I look forward to your videos! I love how creative and informative you are! Thank you so much for sharing and for all your inspiration!
Love your style's and taste in your piece's
I don't know this way, so I'm going to try it. I love learning from you ❣️.
She doesn't recommend it.
Outstanding transformation!
I can't believe you even tried to do this inside the house!!!! You are brave!!! Outside is not bad at all.....I still wear a mask. I have this SAME dresser!!! It came out nice.
Fantastic job I'm sure I'll get many ideas from your channel thank you very much friend happy day
Kacha, this is absolutely gorgeous!!!
I love your dresser. It is very beautiful thanks for sharing your awesome video with us
Came out so pretty-but, personally I want to see more of the handsome helping dog!!
Oh man I love that krud cutter cleaner!
I have done this years ago and it works great.
You're a magician!!! Every piece you refinish turns out lovely. Never a bad result!
Kacha you have such perfect taste & vision for finished pieces. It’s a pleasure to watch you create
As always, stunning piece of art, LOVE IT😍🤩
I know this is an older video but I love the way you treated this piece of furniture. I would proudly have it in my home. Thank you so much for sharing it!
A love your work! I always paint my furnitures, but I am learning a lot with your videos. Thank you!
Sometimes when you start a piece I think is this the first piece of yours I’m not gonna love. And in the end you always amaze me. I did not like the coco color at all then you added the transfer and the piece came to life. So I loved it like all of your Visions it turned out beautiful 👍
One of your best pieces ever ❣❣
Love ❣ the redesign! The new transfers are amazing 👏
You painted the Back Wall & it looks Lovely Katcha !!!
but the part with the dog inspecting - made my day!! :)
I used this 20 years ago. did good.
I have a tiger oak dresser that we used oven cleaner on. I had the same blotchy result. It’s been in the garage (waiting for summer to work on it) and I think I’m going to do a light wash in the AS color you used. So simple and really pretty!
Absolutely beautiful ♥️
I love it. It is rustic and delicate.
This turned out beautifully---agree 100% about the ghastly fumes from oven cleaner---why subject oneself OR a porous wood piece to chemicals like that? I would honestly prefer the nastiest-smelling wood stripper to that. Also, am really enjoying your updated video format. Had stopped watching awhile back during the 'all music' era--just didn't resonate with me at all. Now I look forward to your tutorials, and the information you so generously share. Thank you.
I loved what you have done to the chest of drawers. It is beautiful!
You are absolutely amazing!!! I've chalked painted for years, but you have helped me realize it's time for me to advance a little! Thank you for your teachings!
Great job this is exactly what I was looking for strip the shellac of the wood
I have a stash of different size metal fans that can be purchased inexpensively. I use the fans to ventilate my area when using anything that should not be breathed in ,they also help paint or glue dry faster .
I L❤VE THE OUTCOME!!!!!
Sooooo pretty!! Love that transfer!
Glad to see this. My husband and I are buying a home that the owner made their own kitchen cabinets and they look like the wood grain on the side of the dresser. And then they look super glossy like a shalack. My plan is to either take the doors off, sand back the bases, and consider just replacing the doors and painting (or leave natural). I was dreading how to get the varnish off without all the puddy knife scraping and the orange stuff. I may try this on one door and see if it comes off with as much ease. Thanks for the tips and will get the safety gloves and masks!
I definitely suggest you test it out first on a smaller drawer to see how the wood is going to react.
Absolutely stunning
It works. I have used it on restoring wood furniture
Very Pretty! You did Awesome!!!❤️
Oh fantastic,,,I love it,,so whimsical
That color is elegant..
You are so talented, I appreciate your knowledge. Thank You.
Turned out fantastic ‼️
Hi Kache! It is really great that you were able to enhance the natural wood on this old piece and give it new life. The transfer is lovely. Good tutorial for use of chalk paint wash.
Absolutely fabulous. I’m going to look for an old dresser or other piece to try this on. You are very talented, and I adore your pupper❣️🙏🏼🖖
Usually. I am not a fan of white wash but I loved the coco wash! It really cut out the orange look of the wood!
I love Katcha, she takes care of beeeez neeeeze.
Wonderfull pièce, spring whit the birds👌💥transfur.
Greatings from the Netherlands
OH my gosh….. I love this one. The transfer is just beautiful!
Só beautiful Kaćha, 👌🏻I adore that transfer! I just did 2 old pieces and found the older drawers have an odor. I mixed some citrus essential oil in a bit of clear wax and waxed the inside of the drawers and they smell yummy and look 'fresh". (Also the sliders, I just used a candle to run over them and the drawers run in smoother).
I'm with you on the oven cleaner😉!
Wow...that is Beautiful!!!
So beautiful!
I absolutely love this
Beautiful! The end result is stunning.
