Love the WHITE hardwear on the mirror great job as always , LOVE THE BACKGRIUND MUSIC MARY , people are so negatively minded , they must be miseable , you MARY on the other hand make me so happy with everything you do , thank you SO MUCH
I agree. This piece is beautiful, but the white almost looks plastic against this gorgeous wood. Lovely work though Mary! It's just that one detail, a bronze would look good.
Yes the hardware is off, but the oven cleaner worked. I might repaint the hardware with a antique brass. It would be a less shiny brown tone to go with the wood.
Listening to the recent Q&A with the comments about your background music. Please do not change it too much, I love it ! So relaxing ! I forget the stress of my life and watch you transform furniture or gardens. Love from South Carolina.
Be a lot more careful if you are using over cleaner. It’s fumes are very ,very toxic to your lungs and you need to be very careful of the amount of paint and such that you exposing yourself . Also can effect liver over time. Enjoy you so much, God Bless!
The mirror looks great! One suggestion would be to not paint the hardware white....just my opinion, but I thought a bronze would look so much better since you didn't care for the brass. Also furniture stripper would work much better, You wouldn't have to pressure wash if you used regular furniture stripper. Very excited t see the finished cottages!!!
The mirror turned out beautiful! Can't wait to see the reveal of the cottages. And the soap....... Does anyone else remember soap on a rope? I love that the gardener soap is hanging on a rope. What a great idea. I remember soap on a rope from when I was younger many years ago. 😂
I tried oven cleaner to strip a gabage can cabinet. It had a light blue paint on it. The oven cleaner stripped it to bare wood. Turned out really great!
The mirror turned out great Mary. Who would've though. My big concern is it is hard on the lungs but you did it outdoors. Sneak peek of the cottage looks nice.
Mary, you are talented, creative AND brave! I have never considered completely dissembling a piece, like you did with this mirror. I admire how you just take projects like this so effortlessly. Brava. You give people like me courage!
So glad you stripped the mirror outside! I was worried at first that you were going to do it in your lovely kitchen. It turned out lovely. Just enough change to freshen it up.
Love the natural wood color looks more antique only opinion is the white used on the hardware prefer if it's bronze or gold to bring out the antique looks.
Many years ago (48 to be exact) I mixed equal parts lime and baking soda mixed with enough water to make a paste. I brushed it on, let it dry and hosed it off. Took paint right off. I would try it on an inconspicuous place first.
Much improved! Perhaps a pretty narrow design stenciled in white around the top front of the mirror and tiny coordinating corner stencils on the front of the bottom cross brace, to go with the white hardware?
Yes I did try it on wooden Bowles that put some decor in they turned out great I did have do a lot sanding but the finish was so worth it I used generic brand from family dollar the mirror turned out beautiful
You sure know what you're doing. I love watching you work. I am a bit wary of oven cleaners and other harsh chemicals. Maybe a face mask and closed shoes would be in order.
You’re so right!!! Mary DOES know what she’s doing, which is why she doesn’t need a mask working outside! Her sandals? Water might get on her toes but other than that, what’s the worry? Those that have never done these projects shouldn’t offer up safety suggestions esp when they haven’t been asked for! 😊
I know you mentioned looking for new music. I love the music you have used. Its comforting and I think of it as "Mary's music." I have even played old videos just to hear some of those melodies. Just my thoughts.
I love the oven cleaner tip and will definitely use it in an upcoming project. Sharing from "a friend:" Just in case anybody needs to know, oven cleaner will "end" a really bad case of poison ivy. However, we hope nobody else ever let's the poison ivy infection get that far. 😎
Looks absolutely beautiful… it’s very inspiring my oldest daughter has the same mirror since she’s a teenager and it’s has been travelling with her. This video gives us ideas to freshen up her mirror.
Yes yes yes! I couldn't believe it when I saw your thumbnail Mary! I have just bought a small stand for my entry way that needs an upcycle. I have really wanted to try this technique, but with all things you get good and bad reviews and I was in two minds. I will now definitely try it for the top of my little stand and depending on how the wood looks, I may even have a go at bleaching it, as you have also done before. Your mirror looks brand new and beautiful and as always was a success. Thank you for your amazing videos, Danni from Australia😊❤🌺
I'm an artist, I don't paint very much but when I do I like to frame my work. So I purchase all the frames that I can get. And I've always use oven stripper on them. Very satisfied with the results.
I was very surprised to see that oven cleaner works to strip furniture. The mirror turned out beautiful! Excited to see the tour of the cottages! I’m sure a lot of love and hard work went into building and decorating them!
I have used the same product on two oak end tables and one turned that weird reddish color also I bet I should have used the pressure washer to get more of the oven cleaner off! The mirror looks Beautiful !
I used oven cleaner from the Dollar Store, their brand, several (? 8) years ago on a table. It worked great. Back then it was only $1, not sure now what it would cost. I also had a can of Easy Off, which costs more. Worked the same.
Looks beautiful..Love the white hardware..Gives it a cottage feel to me...good thing is your mood can dictate the entire mirror by the color of hardware..Nice choice..Love the natural tones in wood. Talented you are.
I’ve used the oven cleaner method. It doesn’t remove paint but it does work on stained pieces. The older the clear coat the easier it is to remove with oven cleaner. I used the generic store brand which is cheaper but its not quite as strong as true easy off brand. And I agree with the others. White hardware is a 👎🏻. Would’ve done black with some rub n buff wax.
I had heard that oven cleaner works and tried it out for myself (Easy Off). Personally I prefer using furniture stripper instead; seemed to do a better job (in my humble opinion). I used to strip furniture back in the day, but now prefer painting over my pieces. Funny how our tastes change over the years. The mirror turned out beautifully and the grain really popped after you put the wax on it. It looks stunning in your cottage! Well done Mary! Love your channel. Can’t wait to see the big reveal of your cottages.
Wow, what a difference. I love how the wax shows the grain. Can you please share how you clean your large round wax brush in a video or Q&A? I am saving up for one so want to make sure I keep it in good condition to help it last as long as possible. 🙂 Can't wait to see the cottages!
Hi Mary, the mirror looks so awesome! I have used the oven cleaner, but I wrapped Saran Wrap on it and put it in the sun, (30-40 minutes) it works tons better. Or for me anyways. Lol I’m so excited to see your cottages. ❤️ God Bless.
Awesome job gal. I do so love watching your work. Gives me lots of ideas. Heading home to LaRue ,Ohio the second week of Oct to visit our folks. Hope the leaves are turning by then. I live in the deep south of Mississippi,. Retired military.
Looks really nice. People in videos make it look so easy. Just spray, scrub with a brush, wash off and it's beautiful. You showed all the sanding required too. I have tried the oven cleaner on a few small items and wasn't really impressed with the results. It could have been the wood or me, but I didn't find it saved any time. I used Walmart brand Great Value.
The mirror looks so clean and light now!! I had never heard of using oven cleaner before! I loved the wax finish on the oak!! I have a small oak table that would look nice with that finish!! Great job Mary!!
Love the WHITE hardwear on the mirror great job as always , LOVE THE BACKGRIUND MUSIC MARY , people are so negatively minded , they must be miseable , you MARY on the other hand make me so happy with everything you do , thank you SO MUCH
Love the new color of wood. Not a fan of the white hardware. Maybe and antique brass or gold color or destress it? Either way it's beautiful.
Maybe black on the hardware???
Agree. The white is very distracting.
I agree. The white doesn’t work with it. It’s too stark. I almost think black or antique brass would look better. The wood came out beautiful.
The mirror is beautiful. Who would have thought... Thank you

I like the raw wood look on the mirror. Beautiful.
The mirror turned out beautiful! Can't wait to see the reveal of the cottages. And the soap....... Does anyone else remember soap on a rope? I love that the gardener soap is hanging on a rope. What a great idea. I remember soap on a rope from when I was younger many years ago. 😂

Really like your style of white wood painted.
White metal with white paint and gold metal with natural wood color.
So glad you stripped the mirror outside! I was worried at first that you were going to do it in your lovely kitchen. It turned out lovely. Just enough change to freshen it up.
Beautiful job, as always, my friend. I can't wait to see your cottages!
The mirror looks great, your such an inspiration
The mirror turned out beautiful. Would have never thought of oven cleaner as a stripper. Excellent job Ms Mary. May God bless and keep you and yours.
The mirror turn out beautiful , thank you to sharing🥰
Like the color of the final product, even though I didn’t mind the beginning color!
I liked the white hardware! Especially the way it was distressed. It updates it and isn’t predictable. Great job! 😊
The mirror came out wonderful.. interesting using oven cleaner .. never tried that before but might now. Thanks for sharing..🙂
Love the natural wood color looks more antique only opinion is the white used on the hardware prefer if it's bronze or gold to bring out the antique looks.
I really like the natural wood .
The mirror looks lovely Mary. Can't wait for the full reveal on the cottages.
Love the new colour of the mirror, but personally I think I would have preferred the brass on the fittings.
Many years ago (48 to be exact) I mixed equal parts lime and baking soda mixed with enough water to make a paste. I brushed it on, let it dry and hosed it off. Took paint right off. I would try it on an inconspicuous place first.
I love how you painted the hardware to accent the mirror. You have an eye for the beautiful!
I like the white hardware. I didn't expect it. It looks fresh ti me.
Super excited to see your cottage decor!
Blessings 🙏✝️🕊
Hello sharleen
A girl I watched on RUclips had to put the oven cleaner on three times. Looked like a big job. Yours turned out great as always.
Mary I love the new color. It is beautiful. Great job.
Can't believe the oven cleaner worked!! It's beautiful!
I think it looks beautiful. You did a wonderful job. I never knew you could use oven cleaner. Thanks for sharing God Bless your beautiful family.
Mary, this turned out beautiful! 💜💜💜
HI Mary. Mirror looks amazing!! I did try the Oven Cleaner. I found it very toxic and would rather just use The Orange Stripper. Works like a charm!!
Much improved! Perhaps a pretty narrow design stenciled in white around the top front of the mirror and tiny coordinating corner stencils on the front of the bottom cross brace, to go with the white hardware?
Oh Mary that turned out Beau-TI-ful!! Great job✨🤍🙏🏼🇺🇸
loved the mirror make over, absolutely beautiful, but not the white hardware
Beautiful and I love the white you added to the hardware ❤️
I love the new color. It is beautiful. Looks so good inside the cottage too.
The mirror looks great!
Yes I did try it on wooden Bowles that put some decor in they turned out great I did have do a lot sanding but the finish was so worth it I used generic brand from family dollar the mirror turned out beautiful
Mirror turned out beautiful ❤️✨️
I love the new look to the mirror.
You sure know what you're doing. I love watching you work. I am a bit wary of oven cleaners and other harsh chemicals. Maybe a face mask and closed shoes would be in order.

@@janicemiller4788 Ouch! That stings almost as much as getting oven cleaner on your skin or in your eye. I learned the hard way.
Such a great transformation. Thanks for the sneak peek into the cottage.
Mary, the mirror looks really nice. I know it’s going to look beautiful when you finish the cabins.
I know you mentioned looking for new music. I love the music you have used. Its comforting and I think of it as "Mary's music." I have even played old videos just to hear some of those melodies. Just my thoughts.

Oh Mary it turned out Beautiful!! I love it ! Been looking for a mirror like that for my bedroom !!
Lovely. You always do such a nice job on your projects.
I really like how it turned out.✨I hate taping off too.😉
Absolutely beautiful! Love the white hardware
So well done Mary. Very pretty and refreshed. Love the white. God Bless.

Hello there
Mirror looks great.
I think I would have painted the hardware black, but that’s just my preference. The mirror looks very nice.
I'm an artist, I don't paint very much but when I do I like to frame my work. So I purchase all the frames that I can get. And I've always use oven stripper on them. Very satisfied with the results.
Looks great. I like the white hardware
The Mirror turned out beautiful, I think I would have made the hardware black but it's still gorgeous .
The mirror frame looks absolutely beautiful, Mary. Great work! ♥
Mary this mirror turned out fantastic. I love it thank you so much for sharing💕👏🏼
I used oven cleaner from the Dollar Store, their brand, several (? 8) years ago on a table. It worked great. Back then it was only $1, not sure now what it would cost. I also had a can of Easy Off, which costs more. Worked the same.
Love the mirror makeover. It's beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
That mirror turned out beautiful
The wood grain was brought to life by the wax.
Good job......you're very talented with a good imagination for detail.
The mirror turned out beautiful. So excited to see a tour of the cottages, although I already know that you will have made them so pretty Mary.
Lovely & Wonderful results with the mirrior. I've had a tilt mirror for over 40 years I want to redo so thanks for the inspiration Mary
I am not sure of the brand but, the dollar store near me carries oven cleaner. For a dollar it's worth a try. Your mirror turned out very nice.
Beautiful results- I’ve often wondered about using oven cleaner as a finish stripper. Thanks for showing your experiment!😉👍🏼
Looks beautiful..Love the white hardware..Gives it a cottage feel to me...good thing is your mood can dictate the entire mirror by the color of hardware..Nice choice..Love the natural tones in wood.
Talented you are.
This turned out beautifully! However, when you took the power washer to that oak, I gasped!! Guess you had to let the oak dry! Very impressive!
I love the clear wax on this wood. This is a beautiful makeover.
The mirror is beautiful!
Love, love, and love more!
The mirror looks lovely!
The mirror turned out lovely. The sneaky peek of the cottages was nice, looking beautiful. Can’t wait for the finished tour xxx
Love the end results except for the white metal works… black would be my go to!!! I’ve done bleaching the raw wood and really like that look also.
Omg! Your projects are always awesome! I loved your work … as always!!! ❤️
Wow, it completely changed the color of the wood.
I've tried the oven cleaner and also found it a pricey option.
Mirror looks beautiful!
I had heard that oven cleaner works and tried it out for myself (Easy Off). Personally I prefer using furniture stripper instead; seemed to do a better job (in my humble opinion). This turned out so pretty!
Wow, what a difference. I love how the wax shows the grain. Can you please share how you clean your large round wax brush in a video or Q&A? I am saving up for one so want to make sure I keep it in good condition to help it last as long as possible. 🙂 Can't wait to see the cottages!
Another masterpiece!
Hi Mary, the mirror looks so awesome!
I have used the oven cleaner, but I wrapped Saran Wrap on it and put it in the sun, (30-40 minutes) it works tons better. Or for me anyways. Lol
I’m so excited to see your cottages. ❤️
God Bless.
Awesome job gal. I do so love watching your work. Gives me lots of ideas. Heading home to LaRue ,Ohio the second week of Oct to visit our folks. Hope the leaves are turning by then. I live in the deep south of Mississippi,. Retired military.
Thanks Mary! love how the mirror turned out. Can't; wait to see the cottage!
That is gorgeous!! Love that colour of oak!!!
Looks really nice. People in videos make it look so easy. Just spray, scrub with a brush, wash off and it's beautiful. You showed all the sanding required too. Looks great!
It's been a while since we've seen a home tour. Would love to see it when transfer to fall!
The mirror is lovely, Mary! I am so excited with you to see the completed cottages!
Hello sandy
So much nicer! Just lovely.
The mirror looks so clean and light now!! I had never heard of using oven cleaner before! I loved the wax finish on the oak!! I have a small oak table that would look nice with that finish!! Great job Mary!!
The mirror turned out perfectly!
Mirror looks nice
It looked fresh and updated after the stripping. Much better.
I love the mirror and hardware! It goes so well in your cottage! Can’t wait to see the cottages.
