I had my root canal 2 hours ago im 15 years ,and here is what they did:
1.the anesthesia was not that much painful,it was bearable.
2.For me the only painful part was the drilling. After anesthesia u won't feel anything but when they drill through your teeth u can feel the pressure.
    3. After the root canal, now im back home i feel a little headache and except that everything is normal.
For those who going to get a root canal ,
    Dont be scared be relaxed.
Everything's goona be ok 👍just let ur dentist know when it hurts.

I suffered in agony from January to April with an infected tooth and huge abscess waiting for a RCT in 2021 because pandemic shutdown. Over a teaspoon of puss when it finally burst out between my tooth and gums. One lymph node swollen to golf ball size. No prescribed pain meds or antibiotics. Couldn't work and lost my contract. Got my RCT immediately went home and slept without eating or drinking. Felt amazing when I woke up. I always had a fear of RCT but it was painless, and had watched a TTG video "What's really happening" about it so I knew exactly what was going on down to sticking the tools down the drilled hole and scraping the pulp and nerve out.

I had two last year after depression ruined two of my bottom molars, and on my first appointment, my dentist poked me in the nerve without numbing because the inflammation was *so* bad. 😭 She packed that tooth with an antiseptic after that happened and told me to come back next week, hoping that the inflammation would go down until then. Worked like a charm and my second appt was completely painless.

I watched this the day before my root canal.
I went yesterday and they were able to fix 1 of my 2 bad teeth. They said my other would need surgery for it to be restored. So I'll probably have it removed.
I was numb for at least 3 hours after leaving, but I some how felt pain when they were doing the root canal but it wasnt unbearable... I was in pain the whole day after I wasn't numb. My jaw hurt, my tongue hurt for some reason and especially my gums around the tooth 😭
But it was no where near as bad as an infected tooth.
I woke up feeling okay today but I'm honestly afraid to put anything in my mouth.
Anyways PLEASE listen to this advice..
    1. Even if you're depressed & anxious please try to take care of your teeth 😢 I know it can be hard when you don't even wanna move out of bed but PLEASE... They will suffer and cause you to suffer in pain. And please even if you have anxiety, please still go to the dentist, especially if you see something wrong. I have social anxiety, and fear of dentists. It kept me away and I regret it. It's worth some discomfort to be able to keep your teeth..
    2. INFECTED/ROTTEN TEETH HURT WAY MORE THAN A ROOT CANAL!!! PLEASE GET IT DONE IF YOU NEED IT!
Stay strong and take care 💖

I love your advice! I’ve been a cancer patient for many years and sometimes I’m just too sick to make it to the bathroom to brush and floss. So I keep a toothbrush, paste, and floss in my nightstand, as well as some wipes if I’m too sick/fatigued to wash my face. We all deserve hygiene no matter the difficulties we have in our lives. I’ve seen a therapist recommend a depression box for next to your bed to get you through the basics when you can’t leave your bed. It’s a wonderful idea.

Not only did he use numbing spray before the anasthesia so I won't feel the needle, but he also explained what he was doing throughout the whole procedure. Although I feel totally fine now, and felt no pain at anytime throughout the procedure, I personally believe you’re misleading people. Or maybe it’s just me….?

The worst part for me was the anxiety beforehand-once the procedure started, I felt no pain, and the dentist kept me comfortable the entire time. I usually still recommend flossing between wait time for the new crown. We say use the string floss - as opposed to say a pick or Placker. Also would advise avoiding sticky and hard foods. We keep an initial impression to remake the temporary if necessary, so if it breaks or is otherwise lost, no big deal.
Sometimes, we might cement the temporary crown with some permanent cement. That’s if we want to make sure the crown doesn’t come off. It’s just a pain in the neck to remove the temporary once the new crown comes in.

Is it necessary to get a crown? I need a root canal on my front tooth and am worried about what it would look like

    • @bally2203
      @bally2203 9 месяцев назад

@@user-ts6yi3gk6d I guess it depends on whether it is a larger tooth (like the central incisor) with a small/minimum access. The "opening" is usually on the back of the tooth, and can be "covered" with a small filling after the root canal treatment is successful. Sometimes, though, a tooth might discolor. So, in this case, and in a case where much of the tooth is gone, a crown (or minimally a veneer) will be advisable.
Also another thing to note with the front tooth too is that if you do a crown on just one tooth, if the color is not matched very well, it will stick out and look asymmetrical. So, sometimes it is considered a fairly good option to crown similar teeth (like the two central incisors) if that happens.
Hopefully yours will only need a small access opening and can be filled after.

Sooo i have always been told root canals pretty much always fail, i have an appointment soon for a botched filling, and i am terrified that i might need one because i have getting pain from it, is it true? I am TERRIFIED of the dentist because i've had some uhh... well scary experiences with previous dentists

      PS: sorry this is long😅
Something like this happened to me, we thought it was just cavity so she drilled then put the temporary filling in but it still hurt after like a whole month and I couldn't chew on it at all (the pain was like a electrical shock) after I went again she told the nerves needs to be killed (basically a root canal)(sorry)
It honestly did hurt a bit but most of the pain was from the drilling not the procedure of killing the nerves, honestly I would say the pain is done the moment she stop drilling so it's better to deal with it for a bit that live in pain and maybe an infection later on

Any update on your treatment? My pain started the day after one of my fillings, and after getting the filling redone my dentist sent me to go get a RCT that I'm having tommorow. Did you end up having to get one because of the botched filling?

Hi to everyone i have question forgive me for my english i normally speak Spanish, But i do have question for anyone who can answer this question. When you used floss can you used it again by washing it off by water and using it again or do you have to keep buying floss ?
And wash your mouth with salt water once a week is ok ?

    • @itsnotaphasemom4789
      @itsnotaphasemom4789 Год назад +1

This response is very late but you have to keep buying new floss! The effectiveness wears off after the first use. About the saltwater, I am not too sure. I think it should be fine.

I’m better now but due too that I had to get 8 cavities filled one of them ended me up back at the dentist doing a relief root canal. And omfg my pain for my tooth was soooo bad , there was points of pain during the procedure I had to close my eyes and pray like never before and take deep breaths. But once I got done omg the pain was gone.
PLEASE HYDRATE AND EAT BEFORE YOU HAVE IT DONE, I ENDED UP BEING SUPER DIZZY CAUSE I DIDNT.

I just a root canal and crowning this morning it took 2 hours to do after they numbed me up i just felt pressure, but after the numbing wore off i had pain like a 7 out of 10, i took ibuprofen and it gave me some relief. It bled and clotted for like 2 hours but eventually stopped. My question is that , is it normal to have soreness and pain when you bite down on your tooth that had the root Canal canal and crowning , I'm having some soreness and pain is been 8 hours since the procedure and when will it feel better, i go back in 3 weeks to get my permanent crown put on and does that hurt when they take the temporary crown off and replace it with the permanent crown? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I want to remove mine. He did mine 2 months ago. There was like 6 roots. He drilled a lot, paid $109 more because of unknown extra root. I complained 3 weeks later it was still a bit achy. Xray showed just the itty bitty est teeny tiny bottom spot to drill into 1 root. I don’t want to get more drilling. I don’t want this dead tooth. It’s the last tooth on bottom left before where the wisdom tooth once was. I’d like alternative options and rip it out. Maybe the glue kind? I don’t plan to ever get another one.
