So she can pick up an ordinary kitchen knife, throw it 10 feet, and it penetrates the target 3 inches? It's hard enough with a purpose designed throwing knife to hit a target directly with the point of the blade, rather than the handle or other part. Is she seriously running that as a defence?

Not only was she abusing the boyfriend, she was abusing the elevator too. I think if the prosecution is really confident in their case, they don't speak out to the media about evidence. If they do, I always question their belief in their case. I see it as a way to prejudice the public. Re: Manson case....one of the women's lawyers petitioned to be allowed to withdraw from the case. EDB and Legal Bytes covered this. Watched the last Murdaugh court hearing and found it very interesting. Should be quite the trial. Do you actually read the comments down here or only the chat? I think if she is going to paint him as an abusive womanizer that was trying to rob her and kill her and traffic her, it's fair for the state attorney to release one video. His family shouldn't have to sit around and listen to all that without any recourse.

I’m curious, how is the elevator video “poisoning the jury pool”? Seems to me, if the state has some piece of evidence that will shed light on her character, that should *not* be suppressed.
Could you give some thoughts about the Nikolas Cruz defense strategies? Is it really helpful to their case to call over 80+ witnesses who seem to all be testifying to similar Information? I read the trial is expected to go through November. Why? He pled guilty , the facts aren’t in question. Could the court have limited the time for each side to present their cases? I’m trying to understand the purpose of such a lengthy trial since whatever the decision is on the penalty, it will be in litigation fir years in appeals.
Another question as I missed the live, do we think that the decision to go for treatment in Hawaii immediately after was a PR move to make her look better? Would this be relevant at trial/with the jury and their impression of her?

Here’s some great advice for anyone needing an attorney. Pay your upfront fee’s or retainer, however, if you’ve paid everything and your attorney asks for more the day of trial, say “I’ll pay you after the trial”. If he says well I can’t represent you, then you have already won the case and say “ no problem jerk off, I’ll take it from here”. If he/she says no problem, pay your attorney asap.Lawyers are pathetic!!

Yes please I have been following the parkland shooter case, so sad. I’m surprised it’s not being followed by many tubers. Too many killed very premeditated, down to when to leave before cops turned up and blended in with other kids to leave the school. Shocked and now his lawyers are sorry he didn’t have support etc. can’t let your guard down with this guy, he attacked a guard at the jail and tried to take his tazar.

I believe criminal cases should not be talked out in the media until after court. There is a big difference between a criminal and a civil case

Yes please talk about the Cruz trial because I really want your opinion on this judge. I think no matter what the jury decides Nikolas Cruz lives because it seems he has great appeal arguments. It’s super unfortunate in my opinion but I know so little I could be wrong. Would love to know what you think from the defense perspective.
This is probably a losing battle, but I REALLY wish people wouldn’t refer to the case as the “OnlyFans” case. It’s as if that’s her whole being, working for an adult-content site.
Use her name as a reference or better, use HIS name since he is the alleged victim.

She hasn’t been tried in court. We don’t know if she’s guilty. If she’s convicted then call her a murderer, or whatever she’s convicted of (or pleads to etc).
She wasn’t arrested for working on OnlyFans. Her job has nothing to do with guilt or innocence.
I’m not so much concerned for her dignity, but ours. It’s long past time for us to stop associating a woman’s sexuality with her overall character or propensity to do evil.
Finally, while I disagree that simply using someone’s name is affording them some particular dignity, if you have a problem then use HIS name to refer to the case. HE’S the victim.

I didn't think it was technically an adult site. It just has adult content available. I was under the impression the site itself is open to what you post. Not specifically adult content. Could be art or something else, not necessarily sexual.

We also have to remember that was only part of the video. That building I'm sure has cameras in every hall every corner and parking lots for the safety of there wealthy residents. If they will use it for evidence they have to add in the rest that fight did not start in the elevator it stared before entering pull all footage and give the full story not just what makes her look guilty

Small claims court… (to anyone who can answer) does the court process have to take place where the plaintiff lives, or where the defendant lives? Studio in out-of-state did not / will not pay me for a class I taught (less than $1K). I live on the opposite coast, hoping I don’t have to spend more money to be present in an out-of-state court. I’ll call the court’s office but while I’m here listening to Peter, thought to ask you all. Thanks!
I believe it has to happen in the jurisdiction where the service was provided. In California small claims goes up to 10k in damages, so that is my understanding. So, if the class was taught in one area, that should be the court that one uses. Not sure if it was an online class, how that would be viewed.

@@Shakashack2022 If you have to fly out to the other coast, include that in your small claims filing. They should have to pay for any expenses you had to incur in order to get paid what they already owed you.

About continuing to post OnlyFans x-rated content, I wouldn't personally take that as automatically prejudicial, if I were on a jury. I'd pay attention only to stuff that seems relevant to the killing.
Like yes, with compassion for vulnerable people who are forcibly trafficked against their will, I think the non-trafficked people who participate in prostitution/pornography are acting in a way they shouldn't. It's behaviour that harms themselves and others. Sorry pornography/prostitution fans. Just my opinion. BUT, even though I disagree with this woman's overall choice to participate in what I guess is best-fit by the word 'pornography'... the fact that she continued doing so after her boyfriend's death, doesn't read as 'remorseless' to me, and I'd basically disregard it as a juror. If it was her only source of income, I doubt she felt safe and creative enough to find some new source of income in the middle of a brand new crisis in her life that probably was using up all her headspace to begin with. Crises shut us down into patterns, not make us feel safe enough to try new things. And if anything, maybe the self-hatred that follows this kind of killing only makes a person more willing to degrade themselves publicly, doing things they know may invite contempt from others, because some part of them believes they deserve contempt and this is their way of getting it.
Anyway, not to throw an open can of worms into your comment section; maybe some of your viewers think pornography is the most wholesome and healthy thing in this world. But in the name of giving you honest input regarding my default approach if I were on her jury... I would feel sad for her that she was ever on OnlyFans in the first place. I would not agree with her choice to degrade her body (which is worthy instead of reverence and respect) by exposing it for irreverent objectification by masturbating strangers. But, given that this was a choice she was already making prior to the killing, the fact that she continued after the killing could be explained all sorts of ways, especially considering it was her income source. Basically, I'd discount that unless a lawyer gave a real compelling reason why I should lend that continued activity any weight at all.

The elevator video does show her violent propensity. Let her tell it she was defending herself but the video contradicts her argument. I dont think the video taints, it does defy her argument when her race alone draws automatic sympathy and bias.
