This song has more metal then an aircraft carrier
Hahaha nice!
Amen Brother!!
And the aircraft !,,,,,,
🤣
Rob Halford is literally known as "The Metal God".
Yeah I think he made the "Mount Rushmore" of metal quite sometime ago ;-) 🙃
He's definitely Bruce Dickinson level. Halford, Dickinson and Dio are like the holy trinity of metal.
Yeah man. Hands down, the top 3!!!
The 'Painkiller' album was Judas Priest looking at the rise of thrash metal bands like Metallica and going: "You kids think you're heavy? Well, get a load of THIS..."
Judas Priest started out in 1969 at the same time as Black Sabbath. They were both formed in the same home town.
Holy Crap, this band is the real deal with that song. I thought my head was gonna explode!
Ya, they're pretty good. With a little practice they might be able to make something of themselves 🤣
now wouldnt that be a sight ....lmfao
Judas Priest had plenty of high energy songs but they have been around a long time and changed sounds album to album. I like their older stuff slightly more as far as artistic stuff is concerned but they have plenty of more energetic tracks that get me every time.
Not even one of their top 25 songs in my book. I see reactors for this song all the time but they have much much better.
Who starts a song with a drum solo ? Priest, that's who !! 🤘🤘
Judas Priest is in the same League with all metal classics. Like Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Accept, Black Sabbath, Dio and e.t.c. Rod Halford is a legend and he is a Hall of Fame long ago. Welcome to Priest )
Don't they have their own league? Just asking
i would define Scorpions not 100% metal but yeah
Since when did The Priest make it to the HOF?? I heard a rumor that they've not been inducted yet after 50+ years is because came out of the closet!!
Painkiller is a song nailed in metal history, as a legendary one.. as well as Judas preist in general also i considered up there.. and to me this song got something i didnt hear anywhere else, no one can do this like Rob Halford, and the guitar is just so good.. its a legendary song surely..
Rob Halford is one of the best in classic metal. To get a good grip on his range go back in time and listen to "Dreamer/Deceiver", "Victim of Changes", "Diamonds and Rust". You will like his mellow stuff from ancient history. All the above songs are Judas Priest.
Pretty much all of Sad Wings of Destiny is recommended listening.
My absolute favorite metal band of all times. Halford is amazing in his range, depth, clarity..Insane. Have seen them 6x✌️
Thank you for your great and real reaction man! I will sey just: JUDAS PRIEST IS THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD AND NO QUESTION ON THAT!!! I LISTENED JUDAS PRIEST FROM 1982, AND I LOVE JUDAS PRIEST! ROB HALFORD IS THE BEST VOCALIST IN THE HISTORY OF THE HEAVY METAL! JUDAS PRIEST DESERVES EVERY MUZIC AWARD! THEY ARE NUMBER 1!!! THANK YOU!
I feel like Ive seen a hundred reaction to Painkiller, and I love it everytime....
Rob Halford is a top tier singer . Him and Geoff Tate my absolute favorites .
Probably the best heavy metal song ever made. The vocals, drums and the guitar solo is increadible🤘🤘🤘
Rob Halford's best vocal performance is arguably on 'Victim of Changes' from the classic live album 'Unleashed In The East'.
Yeah arguably he has clean ass vocals there. Dreamer is still my favorite song as far as Halfords' high notes go.
I heard this album in 1990. I was graduating school back then. That album blew my mind. That was something unexpected and fascinating.
His vocal training is on par with Floor, operatic and classically trained.
No. He's not classically trained. From what source did you get that?
@@eatsmylifeYT My mistake, I thought he had been.
@@chueysmama2622 No worries. But yeah, he's a great singer.
When I first heard this song it blew my mind. Still love it. Now I get to see it blowing others’ minds!
This is masterpiece even in 2021. I don't know another heavy metal album with the same level.
Judas Priest started their 50th anniversary tour last weekend :)
This is Priest telling the world, this is how you do it. Rob is considered the Metal God and Priest the Metal Gods. This song is considered the perfect metal song. Now go back and listen to it straight through without stopping.
Best priest song ever💯… and a top metal / thrash all time 🤘. Appreciate the reaction
Rob Halford’s vocal range is truly one of the greatest in metal, if not all music…
The Metal God has spoken. If you have to explain Metal in one Song - This is it.
This is the BEST metal song ever. The best drum intro and the guitar work is amazing and Rob 's vocals. OMG!
The Metal God! 🤘
Halford-DIO-Dickinson-Kiske
Yes, Rob Halford is called the metal god. His range is just amazing. Painkiller (1990) is considered one of the best metal albums. Please listen to him live doing the Sentinel from the Fuel for Life Tour.
The Sentinel, maybe my favourite priest song. One of the BEST twin solos of Downing and Tiptong, a lot of passages, and, of course, Halford's voice.
One of the Best reacts I've seen. Welcome to the Priest World.
I remember listening to this on crappy headphones in the store. My ears were bleeding, my mind was blown, and I loved it.
That about sums up the experience 🤘
Your facials had me _dying._ 😂
Probably my favourite painkiller reaction.
This song holds up 30 plus yrs later ., just aged myself lol.. appreciate the reaction be good my guy 💯🤘🤘🤘
If someone asks what heavy metal means you show them this song. It's 1000% metal
Three decades later from this masterpiece, Grand Daddy Priest still rockin' it "Necromancer". Decades before this, '74. The 80's had the Classic metal (hard rock today) of You've got another thing coming then a synth (Van Halenesk) Turbo Lover. Today Halford is still the amazing original and the multiverse really does exist as we have KK's Priest with Ripper (JP's lead singer during the period Halford left). Double the Priest - head explodes!
After listening to Priests’ entire catalog, it’s clear that they are the greatest metal band in history.
Judas Priest 🔥 are Legends imo & their music is the soundtrack of my youth.. lol! THX’s great reaction Tom! 🤘
I swear the whole album is pure gold!
No shortage of steel here. Build every fucking skyscraper ever imaginable.
The Elder Statesmen of Speed Metal. Glenn Tipton was absolutely ferocious
I've seen them many times in concert, and I think the tour with this debut was the last time I saw them perform. I'm an old metal head at 60 years old.
My first Priest concert was 40 years ago this year, and hope to see them this year.
released in 1990. this was their 12th release 16 years into their recording career.
"Almost in the League with Bruce Dickinson" I would like to hear Bruce´s answer to THAT XD
The isolated vocal track is on youtube and it's incredible.
"I feel exausted" kkkkkkkkk
Thats exactly what this song does to me
Love when new people discovers judas priest haha so awesome, face's just melt
Good old 80's what a diamond to grow up listening in the 90's :)
Priest was formed in 1969 by guitarist KK Downing and Glen Tipton and now a reaction video Seminole Theater in Ft Lauderdale Fla Victims of Changes that Sabayon show is their 50th anniversary tour Priest 50 yrs of metal
Judas Priest are the metal gods there's Judas Priest and everyone else!
Rob Halford has by far the most powerful vocals I've ever heard live!!! Out of 500+ live shows seen....nobody is even close
BEST painkiller reaction on RUclips from all time 👏
These are the dinosaurs of metal
This song is METAL as it is. Essential.
This band formed in 67. These guys were late 40s maybe when they recorded this
Now you know why my user name has "Judas Priest" in it haha! You jumped right into the deep end with this song though as it's pretty much their heaviest/fastest song, although a couple others come close. This song is the one I play for people when they ask "What exactly is heavy metal?". Another reactor came up with his Mount Rushmore of metal singers (I won;t name him or his choices here) and I responded with MY choices: Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, Ronnie James Dio and Lemmy Kilmister...all four are iconic and world-class IMO. Anyways, Judas Priest has TONS of great songs over their 50 year career. Their first album was in 1974 but they formed in 1970...originally with a different vocalist who never sung on any album. Rob has sung on every album except two, when he left the band to do a solo career and another band called Fight. Their first album was more rock than metal but still had some decent material. One of the first records I ever bought was Defenders Of The Faith but I had heard many JP albums prior to that purchase. Since Judas Priest has finally gotten on you radar, my suggestion is The Hellion/Electric Eye (ruclips.net/video/GhvzMGDzt70/видео.html). Cheers
Perfect Rushmore choices for metal singers and I've seen all 4 of them live. In fact 3 of them at one show where Motorhead opened, then Dio, and finally Iron Maiden. 😁 And there's also Ozzy and his distinct voice. My first Priest album was Unleashed In The East.
@@stevecain6377 Man, that would have been awesome to see! I was fortunate to see Iron Maiden with Halford and Querensryche supporting in Vancouver in 2000. Great show! If Mount Rushmore had more spaces, I would have added Ozzy, James Hetfield, Michael Kiske and Geoff Tate as well. There's been so many great singers over the years and many underrated people too (like Blackie Lawless of W.A.S.P.) and some newer singers that could be added as well but then it would become a whole mountain range rather than just one mountain haha! Cheers!
HAHAH yeah the start of this song is like "How you doin? Let me just get ALL up in your face!" Judas Priest is so unique and just wails! I think I saw a bit of your brain leaking out of your ears....it's ok it happens to best of us :) ROFL
This song is pure combat right from the start.
Playing this in the car is a recipe for a speeding ticket :D
Really enjoy your content. Wholesome, honest. Hold this sub LAD.
if you want to hear the "first" Painkiller (1990) check out Exciter -off of Stained Class (1978)
This album was a total BOMB back then, i didn't believe my ears, new drummer really got them in fire. One of the best metal albums.
Definitely best metal album from the 90’s and that’s saying a lot.
Loved your genuine reaction to the best Metal song ever! Sorry that I smirked when you said "Okay, I'm ready" in the beginning... Nah, you're not 😉 Greetings from an old metalhead!
You just gained me as a subscriber. I hope there’s a lot more like this to come. I haven’t checked your playlist but I’m hoping you either have or will do some dream theater as they are my favorite band
Dream Theatre is on the menu very soon, song recommendation?
I think best word to describe this song is relentless.
Nightcrawler off of the same album is sick too
Can you imagine Mike Brady playing this in the family station wagon on a Brady Bunch road trip? 🤔
I have nothing but Pure respect & envy & admiration for GTlenn Tipton. That dudes guitar playing is so overlooked. Most people think its "the bland haired guy with the flying V" No Its more likely Tipton, he was a badass guitarist.
That first solo is one of the hardest solos to duplicate
Rob Halford is one of the best metal singers of all time. Definitely deserves a place on the Mount Rushmore of singing! Great reaction, thanks!
Lovebites bassist grew up on this music and you can tell.
I know I'm late to the party but this is one of the most iconic metal songs ever. Rob Halford is the Metal God and this song is probably the truest definition of metal. Rob Halford is on the Mount Rushmore of metal with Bruce Dickinson, Ronnie James Dio, and Ozzy Osbourne 🤘
Tom,you have heard a masterpiece of the metalsongs,dó you understand? The whole album is a milestone of metál.
The greatest metal song of all time.
This album came out 1990 and the whole album is fire! Love this song so much and the energy that it brings! Thanks for a awesome reaction to this!
This came out in 1990 from the album Painkiller go check out the album it rocks hard by the way the singer Rob Halford has a 4 octive voice
bracing yourself at the front of an avalanche of thunder only to be divebombed by a chainsaw covered in barbed wire and assaulted by a banshee on fire....and thats the first 30 seconds...hang on tight, it just gets harder...
These guys are my favorite band. Seen them live twice, they did this song the first time I saw them. Rob Halford may not be able to hold his 20-second note, but he still has the range.
Also, artist recommendation: Pentakill. Notable songs: Lightbringer; Mortal Reminder; Lost Chapter.
This song and the German Autobahn nearly killed me.
This is real Old School.
Something you may find interesting, Rob Halford and Sabaton worked together on a cover of Judas Priest's "All Guns Blazing" from the Painkiller album. I think you would greatly enjoy listening to both the original and the cover by Sabaton.
The best metal song ever.... Period!!!
This melted faces off in 1990 … out the blue badass’ery
Rob Halford in his prime had a 4 octave vocal range
Halford's diction is IM-PECC-A-BLE!!
I'm covering this song on guitar in two months haha
The days as music was played with instruments.
And yes Bruce Dickinson is amazing vocalist .. love Iron Maiden up to this current day 💯🤘
I am glad you enjoyed that. Great review! That whole album is the shit! Hope you got a chance to listen it. Rock on brother 🤟
70's until now!
Dude, you need to hear him sing 'Victim of changes'.
"This guy" is Rob Halford, who is still going strong at 70. Judas Priest is a rabbit hole worth diving into. This song is from 1990 and is probably their hardest.
If you liked this I would recommend "Metal Meltdown" and "A Touch of Evil" from the same album, which is the "heaviest" of this band. The album "Defenders of the faith" goes a bit in the same direction, but is not that brutal.
However, if you want to hear some different styles of this band and singer I would suggest the live version of "Diamonds and Rust" (there is a very good one with 21 million views), and there is a brilliant acoustic version of "Worth fighting for".
But there are many other great songs: "You´ve got another thing coming", "Screaming for vengeance", "The Ripper" (from the "unleashed in the east live album"), "Delivering the goods", or the very early "Island of Domination", etc.
The best metal song of all time
Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Ronnie James Dio
The best metal vocalists to have existed.
I've heard several songs touted as "the ultimate headbanging track" - this must be in the top 2 or 3
Rob is the best. Such an amazing singer. And such a lovely and funny guy as well. I recommend something from the Live Vengeance 92’ show. Sinner, Desert Plains or Victim of Changes for example.
If you like this, you should hear Night Crawler.
Halford made a duet with Dickinson in 2000.
50 years and counting, welcome to the world of the Priest with Rob 'Metal God' Halford 🤘🤘
