Why I enjoy your videos. I do not have anywhere near the equipment you have but I am able to replicate the way you use light to get similar results with my own portrait photography copying the way you work in 2 areas. The relationship you build with the model and using whatever you need to produce the lighting techniques you do and I find this really valuable. Thank you
This has become my favorite lighting technique as well. Some folks think I'm a bit daft when I don't point the flash right at the model, but I love the extra control this gives me. I'd never heard of this before Peter showed it to us in the Austin workshop last year.
I love getting to see the behind the scenes setups. It allows you to be in the studio, looking over his shoulder, without being in the photographers way. Thanks for posting these.
As always, so much technical, aesthetical and human experience shared in such a nice, compact, friendly, pragmatic way to make us progress in our photography, in such a cool and relaxing way, like if we were all members of a nice big worldwide family of Peter, Bec and the always superb models invinted. I LOVE your work.
Good afternoon Peter, without meaning to, this channel of yours is a great reference for me, not only because of the technical part that you give us, but perhaps the most important part is your culture and professional attitude, be it with your models or even with your colleagues. admirers and thank you for always answering my questions, hugs and have a good week!!
Love that lightstand. It's so damn handy having that handcrank to get it just right and secure without the fear of wear and tear with the more traditional systems over time.
I am a landscape photographer, not a portrait or high fashion photographer, and I love watching to see the difference in craft. Shaping light is more controllable than landscape, but the sensibilities and aesthetics of good model light require more focus on detail and understanding of what complements the body. I always learn.
The Addition of the Butt Lift improves the image like 200% I learned that in my very first Studio Workshop. And used in a Group shoot , I was the only one that asked the model to add more curve to her pose (it was continuous light setup)
outstanding work as always. You are an inspiration. I am more portable so it's harder to have that kind of set up I feel so how would you do that when somewhere like a house or apartment maybe hotel. and not a studio
I have heaps of videos not in the studio ruclips.net/video/zKItZ2TboD0/видео.html ruclips.net/video/x10c_awdBOQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/3ndsY66hJpc/видео.html ruclips.net/video/s6ghXfK3C8A/видео.html
I did enjoy this tutorial. And would be glad to try such a lighting scheme, but unfortunately we don't have beams in studios across Ufa. Cheers from Bashkortostan
Many thanks for this new behind the scenes video! @Bec: Many thanks for being behind the video camera, in this session. I wish you also could film outside the studio, because your eyes are my eyes. @Lottie: Many thanks for posing in this session; you are an amazing person. I always wonder what does it drives to a Model to select the images from Peter’s reference folder, I mean why a Model desires to have the similar looking. @Peter: Many thanks for telling us your favorite modifier. @Peter: Interesting to see the light points vertical to the floor instead of pointing to the Model; by doing this, there’s one half of the body (the right one in this case) that becomes a little bit shadowed, creating a 2-layers effect, for example at 3:30; in other words, the right side of her body becomes the pseudo-shadow of the left side. Does it simulates the natural light in the early morning and late in the afternoon? @Bec&@Peter: You should bring the little dog more often to the studio, if this is a way to make a Model to laugh. At 5:58 it seems to say: “don’t dare to touch her, she is mine and only mine”. @Peter: In the 2nd look, the Model seems to be a diferente person, compared with the 1st look.
Great video (as always)- I too love that large soft overhead source- just a pain to safely setup with a C-stand! I noticed the curve you used in processing changed from a curve up in the mid-tones to exactly the opposite (bringing mid-tones gently down) at the end. I would love for you to discuss your processing of B&W especially more…
I know you love the Octa on the really cool stand where you can twist and turn the light in any direction and it provides great lighting. The one thing I can't tell is how far from the subject is the light? It look's like 6-8 feet in the video.
Perfect timing on this.. I have a shoot tomorrow morning where I was going to rig my source the same as you did here.. Just seeing your results was like a mental test shoot.

Really nice, the dog looking 👀 at the model and her reaction ‘photo’ is a classic. Spectacular lighting concept…thanks.
Our pleasure!
You guys never disappoint! As always, Thank you so much for all you share! Always love watching you work!
Our pleasure! Thanks so much
Good shoot as usual Peter, your ability to communicate to your models is so on point.
Thanks so much

Alway enjoy the team and its smooth workings, great thank you.
Glad you enjoy it!
Awesome shoot. When the model saw the pup her eyes and face lit up beautifully! I bet you could do more with than in a shoot.
Yes it's hard with multiple video cameras on the Model to get them to completely relax
Great stuff as always! Gutted to have missed you guys in London at the weekend.
Next time!
What a delight to work with Lottie.
Thanks
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer Very welcome. Truly a pleasure viewing your photographs and videos.

She is amazing wow!
Yeah Lottie is amazing
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer She is perfect for the Kate Moss photo from Peter Lindbergh. I think that can be fun!

«Eyes...force me to take a picture» «Average eyes or amazing eyes?» Major lessons :) Thanks for another amazing video. 👏

I will have some new processing videos soon
El estilo y técnica de Don Peter es muy bueno.
I love single light setups. IMO there is only ever a main light and fillers and textures. Love your work, Peter and Bec, love your presentation!!
Yes I agree. Thanks so much.
Peter's version of the Patrick Demarchelier lighting challenge. Lovely work as always!
Demarchellier portraits are amazing, even though he is technically a fashion photog. His shots of Johnny Depp is great.
Thank you

I'm curious about how well (or not) the footage from the 360 flow gimbal turned out.
I used it at 7:40
I'm considering purchasing the 360 flow. Thanks.
Cute Shih Tzu , great breed
Yes they are
Hi Peter, what’s that software name that you use?
Hasselblad Phocus
I don't care about the mods. Tell me about the dog.
It's Bec's mums dog
