    My Phil Galfond AHA moment dates all the way back to bluefire: "When A Scare Card Is Not A Scare Card" completely changed my way of thinking about poker. That one little video allowed me to think about poker for the first time. Damn that was a long time ago.

    Please don't shorten the podcasts. Rogan has one of the most successful podcasts and he goes for 3 hours. If the people in the chat are justifiably bitching about the pace of the conversation, try to talk about something outside of poker. The people you have on are very smart and have a lot to say. If the people in the chat are bitching for no reason, that is their problem.

    What i usually did when I was in school was: go to the first classes, figure out if you actually need to attend class, look at the calendar due dates, figure out how long it could take to do the projects/prepare for exams, write down a reminder 2/3days before the exam to start studying the class

    Joey, wouldn't it be a good idea to edit these interviews and have a full on interview, and some 30-40minute most interesting topics discussed ? In regards to condensing the podcast and maybe bringing more people in on it. (all those without 2-3hrs+ available)

    Another great Pod! featuring the man, the myth, the legend. The Pod has had some serious hitters the last few weeks. I saw you trying to get Doyle via twitter, keep at it Papi! Would love hearing them old school stories from the Godfather would be the icing on the fucking cake.

    idea for runitonce:
    a member of your team plays low stakes zoom and records it.
    anounce in social media who will play and when. put some highlight hands on RUclips, so every recreational player has the chance to get some TV time. In my opinion, this will draw more players than usual to the zoom tables.
    Test this for two weeks and measure the difference. Then send those statistics to stars and request 30-50% of the generated rake (or whatever is reasonable considering the effect).
    Play and chat with the pros basically. Well not chat but at least play.

    Not sure if this is feasible, but I think Run It Once could see a massive increase in signups if it were possible to pay directly from poker sites. Definitely some big obstacles though.

    • @joeingram1
      @joeingram1  8 лет назад

      I could see something like that working, I think Pokerstars has its own version of training and I am not familiar with the other sites if they do. From RunItOnce perspective, I'm not sure if they would want to be teamed up with the current offerings on the market as Phil mentioned he is very brand aware.

  • @phtizen4
    @phtizen4 8 лет назад

    Nice pod!
    I think runitonce misses out a big market: twitch-->they won't get too much elite sub from that(Phil is correct there, that most of the players who want to get Elite sub they are already there), but many Essential sub. What Upswing did is amazing, they found a new market with different demographics and it's just silly from Runitonce that they don't go after that market. They offer cheaper subsciption(Essential) and i think they are better. They should do what Doug does at social media and internet(put out content constantly), this is how you will reach out to new players(mostly for Essential).
    Affiliate links at twitch for example, get partner with streamers or do RIO streams(not Phil i guess, but somebody who can make a good show at twitch or social media). I don't know profitwise how important are Essential subs for RIO, but i guess they reached the cap at Elite subs, so only way to grow is go for the low/micro/rec players.

    15:00 I completely agree with this as a result of the games getting tougher. I'm only 20 and I also feel the need to be 100% focused when playing. Either that or I don't have the brain capacity of a 20 year old Phil Galfond :P
