The exhaust drone actually helps put the kids to sleep.lol We used to have to load the kids up and drive around the block to put them to sleep at night
Agree with you there. I have a 380hp Cummins QSB in my commercial fishing boat, with a muffler, and the engine noise makes my kids pass right out. Also makes me fall right asleep if someone else is driving
Mt's don't last long for you mall crawlers cause they get loud. Get use to it it's a jeep thing. If your worried about the drone just dynamite the truck.

I've got the Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my JKU, 120,000 KMS/74,000 Miles. I'm getting new ones next week. I'm very happy with the performance off and on road.
The Cooper Discover AT3. They are by far the best and most quiet. They come with 60,000 mile guarantee and have a great aggressive look. Best part of them they’re cheap relatively speaking. Check them out
I put a muffler on my f250 power stroke to get rid of the drone noise. It was a straight shot through magna flow . Love it cab is quite now but still has a rumble out the rear of the truck.
I agree that the toyo mt is the BEST looking tire. It’s worth the small amount of noise. BUT, the ridge grappler is so quiet, it’s impressive. I switched to a 37x13.50-17 Nitto Ridge Grappler about a 1000 mi. ago and so far it’s pretty badass. I have them at 45F/35R when not towing with the Carli Pintop kit and I’m happy. Now all I hear is my “DPF back” exhaust (w/muffler). Try them out since you’ve tried all the other toyos and you’re gonna ditch them after a few thousand mi. anyways. My 2 cents. PEACE!!!
I have a 2003 5.9 with a five inch turbo back exhaust with a muffler from AFE with no cat. At first I was hesitant on buying the kit with a muffler but since I use the truck for hauling heavy loads the drone was real bad especially on long trips. With the muffler on it's still has an aggressive sound but no drone inside the cab. I would recommend a muffler especially if you need the cab to be a bit quieter.
Rocking the Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my 2019 3500 and my 2019 1500... Running 37” on the 3500 and 33” on the 1500... Best tires I’ve had on my ram so far Eddie...

I have 295/60/20(basically 35”) Nitto Ridge grappler on my ‘17 2500HD GMC Duramax and I’m very impressed. I bought the truck used and they are half tread and not loud at all, which also have no “hum” on the freeway. They are worn evenly for half tread and with windows up or down, the noise is very quiet compared to a MT. They look great and I will definitely be buying these when I buy my new Method wheels.
Personally I'd go with Wrangler Duratracs. They have a really long tread life, good traction in all conditions, and very affordable. They are a little louder than a standard highway tires, but not much.
The Nitto Ridge Grappler is a great choice. Not a single issue and still look brand new even after 10k miles. Also no slinging of rocks and mine go past the fenders by 3 1/2 inches.
i was the one who asked about quite tires a couple videos ago! I think im gunna go with toyo at3s for my f150, i dont go in mud or sand often, my boss just got nitto ridge grapplers i have to ask how he likes them, still look like m/ts
I got the toyo open country at3 on my f150, I got 10 ply as I tow with the truck. One of the best tires out there, no road noises or humming, no side to side sway feel when towing, excellent traction in the yard and rainstorms. I got 5k on them so far and no wear on them.
@@ryanrussell3893 I almost got the bf ko2 but my buddy had them on his f150 and the tires seemed to get more cupped on the edges and make a roaring noise at highway speeds in the cab. Also the centers of the tire seemed peak. Still a great tire but don't think it will last as long as the at3.
Flo Pro twister resonator is what you need. I just added it to my 5" straight pipe turbo back exhaust and it made everything much more enjoyable, even when towing.
I just today put on the RT TRAIL they are about 9-12 months since they hit the streets. Not run the MT, but stepped back a level for some (light snow ability( not snow rated though)) and a tad more sand ability w/o digging in.
I have a 5” flo-pro on my 17 6.7. The flo-pro muffler took all my drone away and it still sounds good. It’s a night a day difference and easy to swap out. I would stay away from the twister mufflers. Fire punk has a video where it robbed like 100hp from a truck they were tuning.
I will let you know how many I get out of mine but I have a 2018 3500 with a 100 gal transfer tank that is alwatys in use and I tow 10k lbs + 2 to 3 times a week and based on what I have left I will get the remaing 15k to get to the 45k warranty. These would have honestly gone longer had I installed the air bags earlier in their life a few 1000mile+ trips without kinda messed up the side tread on 2 but I'm anxious to get a fresh set
I've been running the nitto ridge grapplers and they are really quiet, now just make sure you keep them rotated properly and they will stay quiet. Im running them on a 2007 2500hd duramax and love them.
Eddie I have ridge grapplers on my 2015 LML. I drive no less than 45,000 miles a year and they have been phenomenal. They have around 35k on them and still have 80% tread left easy and I don’t rotate them like I should. 35x12.5x18 load F 45psi front 40 in the rear
@@bamafever92 just sold the truck. They had 75k miles on them and 30-35% tread left. Load F btw. Were smooth up to about 55k then they cupped a little but that was my fault. Best tires I’ve ever owned.
Ive got nitto ridge grapplers on my ram 1500 4wd and they are super quiet. With a baby girl myself she sleeps well on roadtrips. Donaldson the long one. Is whats on father in laws cummins just right.
This would obviously be more expensive but you could add an electric exhaust valve so you could have it run through a muffle if you want but then if you want to have a little more fun and enjoy the sound you just flip a switch and open her up. Really common thing on gassers, not seen much with diesels.
I had a 5inch straight pipe for about 2 years then wanted it quiet. Installed a muffler and never regretted. Also saw a better low end throttle response. I dont think you'll ever find a mud terrain that is quiet. I run Toyo Open Country AT's and would recommend those.
I have 35x12.50R22 Ridge Graps. Didn't last. One broke a belt and bulged up in the tread and rode like shit. Just ordered a set of Centennial Dirt Commander MT's for my F-250.
I have a 19 3500 now, had a 13 mega and I had Mickey Thompson’s deegan 38 AT on it supper quiet and great in the mud and dirt! No noise at 90 and 55 or 60k #Warranty !
Ive had the Toyo Mts and currently Have the nitto ridge grapplers. The Ridge grapplers are definitely better over all. They are more quiet and ride smoother .
Pablo armenta The KM3's are great off road tires but tend to cup badly if just highway driving. Have to keep up with the rotations also. I do still like the KO2's
Honestly you should try the Falken Wildpeak AT3’s I think they’re better than the ridge grapplers, I had the ridge graps and they aren’t as good in the wet that other tires I’ve had, if you want an aggressive looking hybrid tire try the Goodyear wrangler Duratracs they are probably the best tire I’ve had
Get some Nitto Ridge Grapplers! Amazing on and off-road grip and are extremely quiet. Much better than the Toyo R/T's (their main competitor). Over 10,000 miles on the Ridge Grapplers on my 7.3 Excursion, still look brand new and are just as quiet as they were brand new!
Hey Eddy, I’ve had multiple sets of ridge grapplers and loved them. Not too good in mud though. They clog up quick. Other than that it’s a good tire. Also I have a muffler on my Cummins “aftermarket” exhaust. It’s a straight through type of design from MBRP I think. It quiets it down but still has decent sound. Definitely quieter when pulling my camper on trips and sounds healthy driving around town.
You should get some bfg km3s I run 35s and I like them they are not too loud for being mud terrains and they are good on every surface especially on dirt never loss traction or in the sand best tire on the market for me at least 👍🏼
I like my ridge grapplers, the get good mileage, they aren't quite for say. But its less then the MT. They do good they aren't the best in mud but do ok in the Sand
Ridge Grapplers were shit in rain and snow for me since there's very little siping on them. But tread life was good in my opinion and they look good. I think they'd be great where you live. Falken Wildpeak AT3W are a very good all around tire with good flotation in sand when aired down.
Love my ridge grapplers on my 16 powerstroke. They have a super aggressive look and are some of the most quiet tires I’ve owned on a truck. Not sure about life yet. I’m only 3000 miles in.
Just put new Ridge Grapplers (35x12.50r20) on my Duramax AT4. Really like them so far but coming off of stock Wranglers so a definite upgrade. They match well with the Suspension Max stage 2 leveling kit.
I like the older Goodyear wrangler MTR, Cooper discoverer STT, before the tread design change now if I want something that has that tread pattern I need TOYO MT’s
Hey so I was a toyo mt guy for all my trucks and tire choice. Tell my neighbor who works at a tire shop “Tucker tire” he’s also my friend said bro I want you to try this tire it’s a 35/12.50 it’s a Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT. I have like 3,000 miles on them on my 2020 Chevy 2500 duramax. I have no complaints nice in the sand pulling my 5th wheel, nice on the highway NO noise and does great pulling my boat to the lake. But just something to think about.
if there f rated and your running 65/85psi etc they move around the road i aired down to 50f45rr intell i tow and its better but still little noisy my bfg a/t k02s road alot better and smother quiter etc but didnt look as good.. imo
I have 37-12.50r22 Ridge Grapplers on my F450. I use it mostly for towing a 5th wheel toyhauler. They ride great, are quiet and are wearing extremely well. Air pressure is key. Toyo MT’s are great as well, I prefer the Nitto. Had em both.
Unless your going muddling just go with an all terrain or a mild hybrid tire. I recommend nitto terra grapplers or ridge grapplers. The ridge grappler is looks more aggressive but still rides smooth. But I use 37in terra grapplers on my ram 2500. The run sooo quiet and is still realy good off-road if your not going muding 👍 my last set lasted 50k miles, and that’s pulling a trailer 5 days a week
Ridge grapplers are garbage. Sh@ rain traction they spit rocks like crazy made my front end feel like it was floating and barely got over 26k before they started separating. I get a goood 40k out of cooper stt pro. I tow with my truck. We have good success with the terra grapplers only complaint is the last two sets we started getting cracking when we hit half tread life. My wife’s titan is getting around 35 hopefully 40 out of the ridge grapplers and averaged around 45 -50 out of terra grapplers but my ram 2500 eats the ridge grapplers up.
I have Toyo r/t s and my wife has the nitto ridge grapplers both 35s once I’m done with my r/t definitely switching to nittos definitely quitter and better ride quality
Check out nitto exo grapplers👍just as aggressive looking as the ridge grapplers but meant for HD trucks and have 3 peak mountian/snowflake winter rating. I have them on my 18 F350 and are great. No louder than my ko2s were on my last truck. Ridge graps are great but not as good in wet/snow/cold weather as the exos. I guess you don't really have to worry about that but up here in BC it's a deal breaker. Everybody runs RGs, do something different lol
Don’t do it!!!! Go with Toto R/T’s brotha....trust me!!! Just go to discount tire in Rancho and get the R/T’s, they’re quite and have a warranty and maintain the aggressive look.
Fallen Wildpeaks AT3 super quiet with an
aggressive sidewall. They’re great in the rain, I have them on my ram! Think they have a 55k mile warranty.

As long as you own a Cummins, you will always miss your Duramax.
I’ll take the those tires from you Eddie. I need them for my platinum. I’m in East county
DM me on instagram @eddieslife
Put a decibel meter in the back seat and see what the levels are. But that truck isn’t no where near loud enough to do any damage to an infants ears.
i got the nitto terra grapplers they get the job done on the dirt, not loud, and are great on the street, they wear perfect not like bfg.
Try the flo pro twister resonator.
The twister made a big difference for me. It keeps the sound/volume. And takes all the drone away
Didn’t Big Lou put Ridge Grapplers on his dually? Test drive his truck. I put them on my 4th gen and love them so far. About 5k miles.
I like the older Goodyear wrangler MTR, Cooper discoverer STT, before the tread design change now if I want something that has that tread pattern I need TOYO MT’s
I got the Nitto ridge grapplers on my L5P and they're not noisy at all. I love them
Hey so I was a toyo mt guy for all my trucks and tire choice. But just something to think about.
if there f rated and your running 65/85psi etc they move around the road i aired down to 50f45rr intell i tow and its better but still little noisy my bfg a/t k02s road alot better and smother quiter etc but didnt look as good.. imo
I have the ridge grapplers. When you get above 75 they float all over the road. They have 1k on them. Hope they get better. I really like them though.
Keep the MTs they look amazing get a resonator 👍
You should put an active exhaust on it. You can literally quiet it down or make it loud with a flip of a switch.
Im running Yokohama Geolandar X-ATs on my 17 ram super quite and solid off-road.
Eddie you still have those 35/12117?
Yes they used pair
@@EddieLife3500 all 4 tires?
Kenda klever rt is a great tire.
How about the Firestone XT?
295/65r20 ridge grappler. Ram 2500 mega cab. Do it. I pull 16000 5th wheel. Their good, quiet, not sluggish
We have the nitto ridge grapples and they have some road howel we have 20,000 miles on them and they are about half gone
Dude..both my kids have grown up in a 7.3L Excursion....no issues with their hearing....baby girl will be just fine
She probably will but the drone in this truck is annoying when heading out to the desert
The mud terrains are way better for the sand then the all terrains
a mud tire that is quite would cost $5k each lol. 4" exhaust would be a lot quieter
I put a mbrp muffler on, took all the drone out of truck even towing no more drone in cab.
nice do you happen to know how long the muffler was
What don’t you try the Mud terrain from nitto?
Well don't get the Nitto Mud Graplers 😅 had a couple of sets, they wear out quick, slippery in rain and are loud as a MF, but they sick AF
Ull love the nitto ridge grapplers...best tire i ever owned they look great and super quiet and last long. I have 37x13.50 on 20x9 icon rebounds
Try the general grabbers X3 they’re a pretty good m/t tire and looks very good to the naked eye
I got about 21k miles on my ridge grapplers 37’s. I’m guessing there’s about 50% tread left.
Don’t do it!!!! Go with Toto R/T’s brotha....trust me!!! Just go to discount tire in Rancho and get the R/T’s, they’re quite and have a warranty and maintain the aggressive look.
i had them before was not impressed by them at all
