If the screen is blocked that is clutch material, it's too late one of your clutch packs is already destroyed. On 5 speed it's 3rd gear on 4 speed it's 2nd gear. Stuck valves in the Valve bodies is another reason transmissions fail, you must check them for free play and polish bores that are restricted

Can the solenoids be bad and the transmission still good? I'm getting P1750/51 code when van tries to shift from 1...goes hard to 3rd gear and throws the code w/ D blinking.

@@brigitterosales3735 assuming you have a 1999-2004 Odyssey and assuming your automatic transmission fluid is filled to the proper level than yes , that's exactly what the code indicates, a bad solenoid. I'd try to replace it. The fact it shifts hard into 3rd makes me think it is the solenoid because if the transmission was bad it would slip not slam into gear. I'm no sure if that code tells you which solenoid is bad, you might have to test them or just swap them out until you find it, ebay or the junkyard should have them. Ebay has refurbished ones

@@eksine Yes it's a 2002. The troubleshooting for 1751 says to replace "Shift Solenoid B" and the "Linear Solenoid" which I think is the Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Valve A&B shown in this video. Still trying to figure out where "Shift Solenoid B" is.

I have a 2003 Odyssey with a 5 speed automatic and it downshifts really hard out of nowhere (ie just went from 60 to 30 mph on the freeway without my doing). TCS and engine light are on and the D light will start to flash. After a drive it won’t go into reverse and won’t shift up so max speed is 40 mph at 3000 rpm. Do you think the solenoid is the issue?

@@Briluvr don't take wild guesses the first thing I would do is pull the codes and write them down. If you have a check engine light you definitely have trouble codes

So I took mine apart cleaned all the screens put it back together and my van drives worse then the first time D4 light is flashing off and on and no power in D4 I did a ohms test on the brown and black plug my readings were 5 ohms I also did the 12 volt bench test and I heard clicks on both solenoids definitely scratching my head

What's the resistance on the unit? Honda saying 12 to ,25 ohm. I'm getting 5.6 and on a new cheapo unit I got 5ohm.

      Never tested.
Just because it ohms out, does not mean the internals are 100%

my tcs light is on and it will not go away even tried pressing the button and nothing...could be this the main cause of it...also me abs light is on...are the tcs and abs light related with each other??.....the trans sort of clunks from going to park to reverse...is it the solenoids that causing all of his from the trans....if so ill do a trans fluid flush and clean all the solenoids lmk tia

If it clunks your engine mount is destroyed. Have someone start car and shift, watch your engine shake, that's a bad motor mount, usually front but check them all
