      @chrisrussellca  7 месяцев назад

      You’re not the only one with this mindset. Stock for the T1 is limited (one the colors everyone wants) and they’re not cheap. The CH160 has better overall cost to performance, cost to volume etc.

    I have the T1 with Atmos AIO, I was thinking to switch to this with keeping the same component just to improve thermal. But this show that thermal different is negligible. Thank you for this test, so I do not have to switch.

    • @chrisrussellca
      @chrisrussellca  7 месяцев назад

      The thermals are a bit tricky as ambient temperatures change especially in the summer. The T1 has the benefit of having its components close to the side panel for faster heat dissipation. However it comes with a cost, added noise. The CH160 is a deeper case with a TG panel and back partially perforated panel which dampens noise a bit. In turn when normalizing the T1 to 40dB, It reached that mark at 65% with the T-30s. However the CH160 was able to stay at 40dB running the T-30s at 70% and with the two extra Noctua NF-A12x25 fans. Between the slightly better latency from not using a riser cable and the high fan speeds, this is why you see some performance gains in the CH160. I think if you want this performance without tinkering with 3D printing and experimenting then the CH160 is a great option, it’s affordable and you can probably get even better performance if you customize your fan curve or PBO limits. I’m moving back to the T1 because it’s just a better challenge.

    • @chrisrussellca
      @chrisrussellca  2 месяца назад

      The temps in this config wasn’t a problem it’s just he compatibility. It’s 100% possible to have this but you need to follow the guide on what fits. The Cooler Master ATMOS is probably the best option outside of a low profile custom water block. You don’t have much wiggle room with the fans, the offset make it difficult.

    Could the rear fan be lowered and mounted using the holes in the case? they look like a regular screw could fit. and could the front fan be mounted the same way but maybe with rubber fan mounts to give an AIO more clearannce? seems most 240's will have good clearance already though

    • @chrisrussellca
      @chrisrussellca  7 месяцев назад

      Unfortunately it can only be raised, I have it at the lowest possible position, oddly enough the front and rear fan mounts aren’t aligned but you can move the rear fan up to make them even. It wouldn’t work in this configuration because of the radiator.

  • @RobloxianX

    What are your thoughts of having a 120mm AIO mounted in the back with the fans on the top?

    • @chrisrussellca
      @chrisrussellca  6 месяцев назад

      Do you mean having the 120 AIO pointed to the rear fan position or placing it right above the motherboard? If you’re mounting a AIO over the motherboard, even 120mm you will still need to ensure there is enough clearance. The liquid cooling limitations in this case has little to do with the length of the radiator but the width and thickness. If you’re talking about mounting the 120 in the rear then I’d say it’s worth a try, the CH160 is pretty wide and I don’t see there being too much issue but proceed with caution.

      I get that, well it’s all about options, most people already own some or most of their parts. Migrating parts is a much more common than buying an entire build. I think the A4 H20 is great, I own that and several other cases and I’d 100% go with the right case that’s just big enough for the parts and maybe a little more for cooling.

      @@chrisrussellcaI prefer Lian Li A3 mATX over this all day long which supports 360mm AiO, full ATX PSU mATX motherboard with just over 26 liter in volume. No compromise mATX chassis in the market right now. However the aforementioned chassis is bigger in length so bigger foot prints but that's why it can easily accommodate any 360mn AiO you throw at it. Another favorite one is SAMA IM01 which also supports 240mm AiO up top. I would love Deep Cool CH160 if it has native 240mm AiO support.

The ATMOS 240 is probably one of a few coolers that would fit this case….. Big disclaimer…… this all depending on how tall your memory is and if your desired motherboard has thick VRMs that might impede the radiator. As of now I can confirm the ATMOS 240, with the MSI B650i Edge Wifi motherboard and a 40-47mm tall memory kit is compatible with the CH160.
