PLEASE BEAR WITH THIS LONG COMMENT: I think idol rappers aren't really considered as legit rappers in SK unless you've actually proven yourself. Remember what happened to Vernon at SMTM? Also in Problematic Men (not sure about the show), Jackson had to reiterate many times how he is not a rapper but someone who just raps (lol!) 'cause that's his role in the group. Like he knew how to rap but he can't claim for himself that he is a rapper. The rappers considered in SK are people like San E, Epik High and such. But hopefully he can prove himself in this show just like how Mino and Zico came to rise as rappers 😃
lilyloli i agree but the thing with mino and zico is that they came from underground so personally i think they got the blunter end, I mean that it was easier for rappers to accept them, whereas most idol rappers (vernon) didnt come from the other ground. I honestly think Mark has potential to be acknowledged by these rappers and grow as a really good rapper. He's so young and if he's really interested in rapping in a way that is more serious, he should really try to get mentors outside of SM that could help him. Maybe collabs or whatever. Example of it is Jooheon / I.M from Monsta X or Ravi from VIXX who try to affiliate with other rappers outside their company for more knowledge.
I know right? It's like the situation of RapMonster and Min Suga. They both were rappers before, and Min suga was actually underground ( I think ), the guy was poor and had to sell his music just to get by. But the moment they decided to become idols, despiste all of the struggles and all of the history that they had before as rappers, others stopped taking them seriously as hip hop artists. It's like saying that for you to be a rapper you have to have a bad boy image or you can't be a pretty boy or something like that. And that's so wrong. SK needs to wake up. I think idol rappers aren't really considered as legit rappers in SK unless you've actually proven yourself. Remember what happened to Vernon at SMTM? Also in Problematic Men (not sure about the show), Jackson had to reiterate many times how he is not a rapper but someone who just raps (lol!) 'cause that's his role in the group. Like he knew how to rap but he can't claim for himself that he is a rapper.
The rappers considered in SK are people like San E, Epik High and such. But hopefully he can prove himself in this show just like how Mino and Zico came to rise as rappers 😃
lilyloli i agree but the thing with mino and zico is that they came from underground so personally i think they got the blunter end, I mean that it was easier for rappers to accept them, whereas most idol rappers (vernon) didnt come from the other ground. I honestly think Mark has potential to be acknowledged by these rappers and grow as a really good rapper. He's so young and if he's really interested in rapping in a way that is more serious, he should really try to get mentors outside of SM that could help him. Maybe collabs or whatever.
Example of it is Jooheon / I.M from Monsta X or Ravi from VIXX who try to affiliate with other rappers outside their company for more knowledge.

I know right? It's like the situation of RapMonster and Min Suga. They both were rappers before, and Min suga was actually underground ( I think ), the guy was poor and had to sell his music just to get by. But the moment they decided to become idols, despiste all of the struggles and all of the history that they had before as rappers, others stopped taking them seriously as hip hop artists. It's like saying that for you to be a rapper you have to have a bad boy image or you can't be a pretty boy or something like that. And that's so wrong. SK needs to wake up. It's not the image that makes the rapper, but it's story, message and passion for hip hop. At least that's how it was before.

Mark has pretty good flow. He just needs to learn more and polish his skill. It's amazing he got recognized by Olltii and Heize though. It means they start recognizing his talent. I think he makes a good decision by joining this show because he could meet real rappers and great mentors and learn a lot from them (otherwise, he won't meet real rappers and mentors who could give him advice)

타돌팬이지만 이마크는 진짜 순수 100%에 장난으로도 상처 받을 말 안 하는 착한 아이돌인데 가오충들이 널린 고랩와서 눈치만 씨게 받고 제작진들은 캐나다가 국적인 애한테 양홍원 언급해서 괜히 뻘쭘하게 만들고 저때 '두고 가' 가사만 봐도 알겠지만 착한건 ㅇㅈ함... 멤버들 챙기고싶다는 거랑 가오 1도 안 섞인 프레쉬한 가사들에 배경음이랑 리듬감 미쳤고 슬기가 와줘서 같이 무대하는데 개멋있고 음색깡패고 그냥 무대 씹어버렸는데 가오충들한테 밀린게 안타까움ㅋㄹㅋㅎㅋ
