Currently making a video of my re assembly of the car as a how to that should help a lot of ppl looking to turbocharge or just anyone who wants to know the basic things u need to make this happen thanks for the comments 👍
they make a kit for 6k ill try to find a link but if you type it in google n52 turbo kit itll come up looks to be pretty quality im gonna save up do an install video once i get it
Yea I saw the kit just no cars actually running it or any making decent power numbers I know of just a pic of a car running the manifold. And one guy doing a test drive 🤷♂️ It’s easy to get the “kit” together most of what u need is in a universal kit it’s the same pretty much cross platforms. the company your referring to makes Theyr own exhaust manifold is the big claim to fame all the rest is just generic turbo parts. My only issue is not a lot of testing was done on that manifold and it’s stainless steel they like to crack under the heat and weight of a decent sized turbo so I’m waiting on long term reviews to come out. Good luck tho do your research a lot more went into my car then just a turbo kit even my car is tuned off map sensor not maf sensor you gotta make changes like that u don’t think of off hand and u will need a standalone or piggy back ecu best of luck man send me a link when your cars done 👍
ruclips.net/video/d1UVD-BhV9s/видео.htmlsi=_gMQRrjzSuzhwIu1 heres a video of what u need u might wanna check out the other parts when I drop that video
Hi!) how are you handling the blow off valve? Because it should be connected to the intake manifold where the vacuum is on closed throttle - but we have the valvetronik system so there is no vacuum om closed throttle wit boost! How do you handle this?)
Your referring to 2 different things the turbo if big enough like mine has a wastegate that controls how much boost your turbo makes that’s how it in my case hits 14psi the wastegate under the turbo opens up to divert excess exhaust gas around the turbo. The other one you see on the intake side on the cold pipe is a blow off valve that lest the pressure out of the cold side of the turbo when u let off the gas. So one is called a wastegate one is called a blow off valve. And a blow off valve never connects to the intake it’s always on the piping in front of the throttle body. You can see in my intercooler video wastegate is blue on the passenger side blow off valve is black on the drivers side of the engine bay. Any other questions feel free to ask 👍 we also have a Facebook group if u want to join I answer a lot of questions on that as well
@@rumrunnersracing probably you didn’t got my question) The blow off valve is handled (you call it ‘is called’) by a vacuum that is connected to it. But with the valvetronik system we have no vacuum to take)
@@RShcherbanmy car has a whole thing on the back of my intake using the port from the egr that we added called a vacuum bank and it connects to my intake and I run the wastegate and the boost gauge off of that and if I didn’t have that I could get my wastegate vac running from the turbo itself and u can run it to go to the bov and the wastegate if you don’t want to add a vacuum bank
@@RShcherbanalso valvetronic has nothing to do with vacuum lines it controls valve lift and it has no lines going to it it’s electronic. I’ve boosted a few cars the concept is exact same on every car so most vehicles you can just put a few vac line t’s in line off your turbo and connect everything to that
I’m running a custom standalone my friend and tuner developed at popformance for my car it’s the first plug and play standalone for the n52 that gives you complete control of valvetronic with boost and vanos. The valvetronic almost eliminates turbo lag this car could make 14psi with a gt35 turbo before it hit 4500rpm. The ecu shut down a run where it spiked to 14psi but so early it made 600whp at 4500rpm. It was insane I’m surprised the trans held it. It also launched so hard it bent both sections of the driveshaft and tore all but 2 bolts out of the rear guibo 😎. The standalone should hit the market this spring if all goes well
@@Past10Performance pretty it was based off a rus efi that we had going and found it didn’t support a lot of the stuff we wanted so that’s when the my tuner made some custom Boards then ended up just going to town designing his own ecu he’s like a tony stark kinda guy 😆 his company is www.popformance.com you could message and ask about a pre order it could speed up the development process. ATM he’s deep into standalone he’s making for the Nissan 300zx gotta let him know us n52 guys are waiting.
Mainly n54 uses direct port injection and it dosent use valvetronic also it has a stronger block and better flowing intake manifold and its twin turbo from factory but require way more maintenance due to the direct port injection. Where at these cars dont use direct port injection and use variable valve lift (valvetronic) and injects through the intake and they come n/a from factory making 220 at the wheels on its best day. N54 comes out the box making 300ho but with a simple plug and play tuner u can run a better fuel map and make 400whp for less then 500$ investment into a jb4 tuner
My motor is completely stock bottom and top I’ve never opened it. Trying to see what it can make stock the tuning is everything also don’t cheap out on injectors or any fuel components and run as high octane fuel as possible. Also you need rising rate fuel pressure regulator most people don’t mention this so your fuel pressure raises as the engine sees boost. Other then that the engine management is big me and my ti we are making a plug and play standalone for the n52 that uses the valvetronic as well as boost it should be available some time summer 2024 right now my car is running the only finished prototype.
"I've never opened it up." You'll open it up after your turbo install destroys every gasket/seal in your motor and destroys your stock piston rings... BTW the oil pan gasket is a royal pain in the ass to replace.
It’s doing well my standalone controls the flow of the pump so when I’m driving hard it flows more coolant. My main issue was I take temps being high when u boost the turbo sits right in the hot side under the hood. That’s y I went huge intercooler and ported headlight intake to keep temps low when drifting at events
Yes u can it’s all the same with an awd u could actually change the awd settings from awd to rwd or 70/30 rwd biased electronically so it’s almost better to boost the xi awd cars because u get the best of both worlds.
The most we made so far was just over 600whp but had to back it down due to temp issues it would pull timing anything hotter then 35 degrees intake temp as a safety with the standalone as it sits now on a conservative setup it makes around 500whp running 14psi. I’ve since fixed the temp issues with a bigger intercooler and intake ported through the headlight so it goes back to the dyno in the spring when this snow finally goes away.
@@rumrunnersracing Holy!! 600whp is insane. i didnt think the n52 could get up to those numbers. i was thinking about doing a turbo kit for my n52 since it does seem to be lacking in the power section but i didnt think i could ever get it past 300hp. im glad i managed to get some insight on the numbers from someone who has already done it. Once again, absolutely insane. Keep it up!!
Yea they are pretty stout tubing is the biggest aspect where ppl blow engines I’m lucky to have a good tuner and run this prototype ecu that has a bunch of safety features like it cuts timing if the car boost creeps past 14psi or if engine or intake tenps get to high she pulls timing to keep it safe also the water pump coding with my standalone will run my pump at higher speed when the car starts thrashing also oil temp is monitored and there’s a safety if valvetronic fails it will lock it in a certain spot and reduce ur power so you can drive the car home it’s pretty next level it should be available to buy the first version this season sometime
Subscribed so I can see when this standalone is ready cuz this style of turboing is my avenue of work haha. Pull a massive turbo off an old turbo diesel Cummins and rebuild it xD
