Im not the only one hearing complete silence am i?
ParasiticPupp3t --- I suspect he had used a Nintendo theme and it got copyright flagged and the music was muted by RUclips.
It starts up again at around 4:13
Serendipitous Zen koan, right there
Watched this and the top 75 and they are great lists and have given me a few games to try out. One bit that surprised me was no Megaman Battle Network tho. Along with Golden Sun and FF Tactic that is my fav GBA series, a bit too heavy on the "friendship will always save us" angle but some solid games with an interesting battle system and alot of collecting and exploring.
Omg I just finished mmbn2 and it was awesome! and i cant help thinking how!? no really HOW did mmbn and ff tactics not make the list? like, who does that? 😑
I prefer mm zero. My favorite gba game is mmz3
It's easy to forget just how amazing the GBAs lineup is!
+Fazel Ali absolutely. That little handheld had some serious oomph when it came to its library of games!
With how comprehensive this is I'm surprised not to have seen Ecks vs Sever on either list
My favorite GBA title that nobody knows about: Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer. If you loved surfing on California Games (Lynx), then this is your new favorite obsession. It looks and plays much better on actual hardware than emulators, so keep that in mind.
Is there no audio or is it just me
It's not just you. Someone claimed copyright on the audio, even though it's under creative commons licence. Until it gets resolved the audio has been removed by RUclips.
@@Juganawt Damn son
@@Juganawt :(
So many games, so little time!
Make Time
don't you agree ?
The games I remember having on the GBA was chicken shoot, some paint ball game, Spyro season of flame, hot wheels, and power ranger SPD. My favorites were Spyro, power rangers and hot wheels.
I'm a little disappointed that the Summon Night Swordcraft Story series didn't make it even in the honorable mentions, it's an awesome rpg game.
AetherLordPunch Aala you may see a Summon Night game show up on a different system's list in future....
This is literally the only time I've ever seen Sabrewulf mentioned. Such a hidden gem.
A couple of dope ones I think you missed are Sword of Mana and Sigma Star Saga
This is probably the best list of recc's i've seen because it doesn't consist of the same 10 damn games that everyone talks about.
I would like to see a list from you showcasing Japan-only GBA and DS releases that require little to no understanding of the language. I'm sure there are a great number of fun releases that could have been imported and enjoyed.
Like Juganawt stated the song is found in ocremix.org but you can actually find their youtube page by typing in ocremix but if you want to know the song its called KR44441D by Mustin, indeed a great listen :)
k-1 pocket grand prix, pleasantly surprised to see that included
I like how the slides moves across to the Right!😁👍
Man you missed the whole Megaman Zero and Battlenetwork series, what's wrong with you?
Joking but really I'm baffled you missed them, anyway, when can we expect like a top 150 DS ? Your videos are top notch.
+NueThunderKing Slight oversight on that one. They both should have been in the honorable mentions, but I forgot to put them in! I must've seen I already placed one Megaman in the video (Rockman & Forte) and thought I'd already done it!
Anyhow, 150 DS? Might be a tall order. When I think back on the DS catalogue, I think I have about 50 favourites....but maybe when I look into the library a bit further I might find 100 or so. I think 150 might be a stretch though...
+Juganawt I'd argue the DS has a stronger library than the GBA, but perhaps it's a matter of perception or taste. Whatever the case I'd be thrilled to watch a top 50 or whatever of DS games.
Great list(s)! It's hard to find someone who hasn't only played all the Nintendo GBA games and rated all of them, and you actually branched out to things I missed before like Super Gunstar Heroes and the Doom games which I didn't even know were on the GBA to begin with. Definitely gonna start finding them.
P.S. The Kraid theme you used in here sounds awesome, do you have a link?
+kylele23 I haven't played all the GBA games. There's thousands of them. I've played a few hundred though - certainly enough to be considered as the best the system has to offer.
As for the theme, it's freely available on OCRemix. Head on over and download it for the fair price of nada!
Those Final Fantasy ports 😍
just checking for good games for my emulator.
Gamer's TV same
i'm checking for physical copies (nothing comes close to playing on original hardware)
@@oliverhees4076 "nothing comes close to playing on original hardware" - that's true, it's actually way better to play these emulated (very well by Retroarch, on my hacked SNES Classic) on my big screen TV in HD, than on a tiny little (not back lit) screen and waste a bunch of batteries.
Seriously? This just shows how seriously underrated Crash N-Tranced is.
who else paused the top 75 video to watch this before the number 1 reveal.
Already knew it had to be advance wars or I was gonna implode so I just continued the video :)
No kirby nightmare in dreamland? still? Didn’t even crack top 100???!
subbed, your videos are really well done
Wade Hixton's CP. Dragonball Advance. Justice League The Flash.
Medal of Honor underground is unplayable. It's constantly ranked as one of the worst games on the GBA. How is it on this list???
Zero mission is much better than fusion. Two great games for sure.
Hard agree
thank you very much ! It's very hard and very useful (nice) work ) Good job ))))
The GBA was seriously one of the greatest things ever!
Audio?
You There?
hoped for fire pro wrestling or gta advance but
its a great list anyway :)
I am not surprised that Robopon 2 wasn't on either list.
Mostly because the game is basically the most obscure/overlooked thing in existence, I somehow get the feeling this is the first time you're ever even gonna see the name Robopon (and if not you probably are thinking about the first one, which was a Gameboy Color Pokemon ripoff), lol.
Anything Atlus isn't obscure. Whilst Robopon 2 was definitely miles better than the original, it didn't really grab my attention. At all. From what little time I spent with it before getting bored, I found it distinctly average in every way, except for the fact it vaguely resembles a fun old Snes RPG called Robotrek.
How much time is "what little time I spent with it", out of curiosity? Things start picking up quite a bit after the first few minutes, though I'm going to guess you mean you played it longer than that at the very least. (If you didn't reach the time machine, it's safe to say you *probably* didn't play long enough.)
As a side note, Robopon 2 wasn't published by Atlus everywhere (just in the US from what I can tell), and you're actually the first person I can recall having talked to online who actually already knew what it was. That, combined with the amount of stuff on the internet there is about the game (I'm pretty sure there's only one complete let's play of the game, and not that many more incomplete ones, for example), leads me to believe it's more obscure than you think.
P.S. Wasn't really expecting a response from you, even less so soon. What a surprise! :D
you caught me at a good time. I'm at work! hehe! I played about an hour, if I remember rightly. I can't remember exactly how far I got, as nothing in the game really stood out and was memorable for me. It's probably not a bad game, but it's not one I'd have even remotely considered for either of my lists.
Given how confusing the game can be to navigate at first, an hour *could* mean you reached the time machine, but could also mean you never even got through the pyramid. That being said, the first scene with the time machine is one of the first truly memorable scenes in the game, between the fact that a "Congratulation!" (sic) sign manages to destroy an entire laboratory and between pretty much *all* the dialogue during the scene (IIRC one of the components used to make the time machine was duct tape, for starters), I bet you'd at least remember *some* of it if you got that far. *shrugs*
That all being said, I can get why it wouldn't be on a list like this still. Perhaps even if you had gotten that far.
song name?
Not sure, tbh. Depending on what country you're in the audio changes due to a copyright issue.
Jason Vega 4'33
Of these honorable mentions I have:
Metroid
Xevious
Pac-Man
Donkey Kong
Excitebike
Dr. Mario
Bomberman
The Legend of Zelda
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
Capcom Classics Mini Mix
Ice Climber
Super Mario Bros.
Castlevania
Donkey Kong Country
Super Mario Advance
Super Mario World
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island
Super Mario Bros. 3
Final Fantasy VI: Advance
Contra Advance
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Tales of Phantasia
Final Fantasy I & II
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
Gradius Galaxies
TMNT
Metroid: Zero Mission
NO MEGAMAN?
No Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories?
+Jerx Jeremy nah, it's not for me. I never liked the kingdom hearts series, although I can see why others enjoy them
i like that too
It has a more interesting battle system than typical kh games though. Good visuals and challenging gameplay.
funny heres what i was going to comment:
Uh, +Juganawt , you missed one. Kingdom hearts Chain of Memories
You are amazing. You knew so many GBA games.
awww, Advance Wars 2 only got an honorable mention? how close was it to getting in the top 75, would you say it was a top 100?
also i didnt care much for the conversions really, i felt that they were in a way just quick cash-ins by nintendo, nothing personal about it but unless they add a LOT more content, that's what i'm left feeling at the end of the day.
+The Gaming Paladin Well, AW2 fell foul of my "only one cartridge per series" rule, same as Doom did. The original AW game took it's place somewhere in the top 75. That's not to say it's not an amazing game (which it is), but it was more of the same and wasn't as ground breaking as the original.
I felt the same about the NES and SNES ports, too. That's why I omitted them from my Top 75 list.
Juganawt fair enough, but the more of the same is what brought me deeper into the series, not wanting to be alienated as they added some new units and commanders in 2 and the DS title that i currently own, making it as endearing to me as Tony Hawk was cause they gave you more of the same but with adding a new mechanic each game.
Gracias por esta guia, me sirve de mucho :)
Sims urbz is underrated
Why is Earthworm Jim and Medal of Honor underground on this list?
Dude what about megaman zero
My guess is you haven't played f-zero maximum velocity they made a f-zero game exclusive for game boy advance with no blue falcon etc. But new cast and plays very fast like the Snes f-zero , in some races I had to tap the a button as the car would accelerate so quickly
They made a few GBA exclusive F-Zero games. The best one is in my Top 75 list, which was F-Zero Climax.
I hate watching silent List videos with scrolling text. I rather read a real list than watch a video of a list.
This is a supplement to the main list where I have commentary. These are honorable mentions of games that didn't make my Top 75, which you can view here: ruclips.net/video/3TfYoF3ZJwc/видео.html
Crash bandicoot a huge adventure was an amazing game
No sound on the video?
What about a DS games list!?
What's up with the broken music? It only starts playing like halfway thru & then abruptly stops a couple minutes later. Mind fixing that please?
A false copyright claim, unfortunately, means I can't fix it. Some countries hear the music, but others don't. Not much I can do apart from re-do the whole video.
@@Juganawt Ah I see. Can't you reupload it tho with some other music put in? Pretty sure I've seen other RUclipsrs make small changes to a video without having to make a whole new video, keeping the view count and such intact. There should be a way to do so.
Love your videos. You are going to explode eventually.
I'm looking forward for the DS list X)
+Vincent Presscod DS is going to be a long way down the line as video capture equipment for Nintendo DS is expensive and I can't afford it.
Emulation of the system is imperfect to say the least and doesn't accurately reflect the quality of games running on real hardware, so until it does, I won't touch PC emulation for the system, either.
I've seen WiiU VIrtual Console DS games though and they seem fairly accurate. I may go that route, providing all the games I want to list can be injected into VC WAD files properly.
Juganawt, it's just that I bought Nintendo DS lite a month ago and was hoping to find such list of good games. Every list I found so far had 5-10 games and it was the same games usually.
like my ds emulator is not working clearly very logging setting is no used
Shame WarioWare: Twisted! never got released in Europe; I'm guessing that's why it's not mentioned. It's my personal favorite GBA game!
+PinMike8666 that's not the reason why it wasn't mentioned or video'd. It's extremely hard to replicate the gyro sensor In the cartridge for recording purposes, and if I can't accurately record it, then I won't record it at all. It's a great game though, even if I do prefer the original.
you should mention which ones are japan only, and which ones require e-reader
Have u not played sword of mana?!
Yep. I also played the original version, which was Final Fantasy Adventure on the Game Boy - infact, it made my Top 50 list there!
Gotcha, I would consider sword of mana almost like a different game just because the game play mechanics were a lot better and it had a more in depth story, but that's just me.
Hello mate, what song and music is this? Where can I find more of this music? Thanks
+FAFEEINMINV TJODMEFOM there are 3 tracks - there's the Metroid one, the Donkey Kong Country one, and the Doom one. All are available for free download at OCRemix.org.
Do yourself a favour and just download the entire OC catalogue - there's some truly wonderful music there!
+Juganawt please tell us the name of the song playing during the SNES remakes. it's soooo goooood
TBH I'm not sure which tracks you hear. I had a copyright strike, so for some countries it removed the original audio and replaced it with a royalty free RUclips song. In some other places, the original music remains intact. All the tracks I used were Creative Commons licensed tracks from OCRemix.org
Okay thanks! I shall go through the OCremix page again and search for it.
spider-man - mysterio's menace
Adventure island not for gba

great list. thanks!
Does anyone wanna trade doom or wolfenstein for postman pat or care bears?
The only one i missed was GTA advance, go go beckham, and silent scope

Sucking at games also makes me cringe
thnx I will subscribe
Fantastic! Thank you!
Whats the second song name please?
Music in background?
Have you played Super Robot Wars OG and/or Summon Night:Swordcraft Story before? I want to hear your thoughts on those 2 games if possible. :)
Played 'em both. Summon Night 1 & 2 were supposed to be in the honorable mentions, but I forgot to add the footage! Whoops! It's a very good game indeed, but not one of my favourites.
SRWOG 1 & 2 are....okay. There's nothing *wrong* with them, but they just don't have the charm of something like Advance Wars. They're just a little dull. Oh, and the translation to English wasn't exactly brilliant.
This gonna called the gr eed
Castlevania Aria of Sorrow the best
ur right but symphony of harmony or what are awesome too
U forgot dungeons & dragons..
+Rob LoneCrow AD&D Eye of the Beholder? Didn't like the GBA version's battle mechanic too much.
where's warioware twisted?
I need to know
MARIO PARTY ADVANCE
NES conversions? NO
What song is the first one
It's called "Metroid 'KR44441D' OC Remix" from the Metroid Arrange 25th Anniversary album on OCRemix.org
That’s gba? Looks like nes
Some of those games are nes ports
gba is so cool you still dont mention anime based video games like naruto ect
+Feli Man most anime games rely too heavily on their licenses and, when you focus on their gameplay, they aren't great games. I remember a great Bleach game for Nintendo DS, and I vaguely remember a good Inuyasha game, but they are few and far between
Juganawt soooo picky xD
the One Piece game, as well as both Shaman King games are fantastic action platformers and I've never read or watched anything from those series. you sound a bit biased, which is especially hypocritical when you included literally every port of any game outside of the GBA on one of your two lists. Why you prefer shoddy ports to polished games designed for the system is beyond me.
the Shaman King games were good, but certainly nowhere near good enough to be classed as part of my top 75 favourite GBA games of all time.
Thats the thing. Everyone has their own favourites for every system. One Piece, Shaman King, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragon Ball Z, Yu - Yu Hakusho, Naruto, Robot Wars R and the other Anime games might be amongst your favourites, and that's fine, but they aren't good enough for me personally to add to mine.
As for honorable mentions, the reason every SNES and NES port was listed was because they weren't eligible for the main list, therefore they wouldn't be represented at all, despite some of the ports still being some of the best GBA games available.
The only games not listed over the 2 videos were homebrew games and japanese text-heavy games that needed translation to be played without knowledge of the language (ie Mother 3), and the reason why those were not covered is because I plan to make another list to cover those at some point in the future.
feli man yeah
Love your lists but they always seem to have similar or the exact same titles
Great games are great games. There will, naturally, be some games that are on multiple lists, purely because of how bloody great they are. In previous videos, I tried to minimize this by only putting the best version of each game in each generation on a single list, but people didn’t like it very much.
