Omigosh that's absolutely STUNNING! I just finished my fourth ever miniature, and I'm pleased with how I've progressed. They're just for my favorite board game. I'm enjoying the process but I have SO MUCH to learn. Thanks for the really detailed clips!

Technically speaking, Gandalf's sword should also be glowing. Glamdring (The Foe-Hammer, which belonged to Turgon, king of Gondolin). Orcs recognized it as "Beater," along with Orcrist (the Goblin-Cleaver), which they knew as "Biter." It is unlikely any of the orcs that fought at the Fall of Gondolin were actually alive in the Misty Mountains, so it stands to reason they passed around tales of two glowing swords that...
    Oh, I'm rambling? Sorry.
Point is, Glamdring should 100% also be glowing if orcs are around.

Is there a specific reason you use army painter as they have been proven over an over to be one of the worst paints? Not blaming, just a genuine question. I myself still have a big set to use up before I can by new ones. Ive also tried Vallejo and they feel so much better in all ways.

    • @SwordsandBrushes

No worries, i just prefer them really, i switched over from GW a number of years ago as i liked the AP range of paints more. The warpaints range had a few colours which were poor in terms of coverage - like the oranges, but i got around that by painting lighter colours first, and then speedpaint made it so much easier.
The fanatic range so far im liking, the coverage is pretty darn good and there are more paints which is always nice
As i paint A LOT its nice to have bottles that have more paint in them and still cost about the same as GW so they last much longer, and i much prefer the nozzle to get only the paint i want out rather than the 90's style "dip your brush into the paint pot".
I think thats why Army Painter and Vallejo are in my top 2. I've used both brands in the last few years, but AP just hit the mark more for me.
It just makes me more efficient :)

@@SwordsandBrushes aha nice, can’t wait to see him. Especially the base, you tempted to try green marble or just grey rock? Your painting is still noticeable improving (it was already good) so I guess he’ll only benefit from the delay! I bought him over a year ago but have been sick ever since so he’s not even started! I think if I recover then I’ll paint other stuff first. No least practice airbrushing a bit!

the light from the sword was conveyed beautifully... but... such a figure of a hero cannot be placed where there are no orcs, and the hero is needed for the game... it turns out, you need two figures, with and without light....
