yes, definitely keep the long reveals - much nicer being able to see the final result - show off your hard work! :)
Two things:
1: I would highly recommend starting from a white basecoat when you build up a fire effect. It's just soooo much easier to get the yellow to cover than painting it over straitght black.
2: When you hollow a model I would always use a small UV light and stick it into the hollow inside to cure the resin there. Hollowed prints with uncured resin inside of them are known to burst apart when the temperature changes.
proper drain hole will prevent number 2. but I like the small light idea never though of that but ive never had those problems.
Better to print a separate bottom perhaps so you can guarantee being able to get uv in there etc, and makes things easier for leds in this instance.

Please for the love of god *keep doing* the long reveals/turnarounds! I found this channel only a few months ago and watching some of the old videos where it's just the cinematics honestly felt like - and I apologize that I cannot find a more appropriate way to say this - being blue-balled. Let me appreciate your work! Let me admire the paint jobs and the craft! While I appreciate the work that your cameraman goes to, the smoke and colored lights are not what I'm here for, I'm here for the models you make, and boy, getting to see them in these long turnarounds? They deliver.
These reveals were brought to you by Dave just for the purpose of letting them breath. It's fun to do the smoke and fancy stuff, but sometimes you just want to watch the model spin

AVG's sci-fi releases have been SO much better than I anticipated after the Space Dwarf first set, I didn't expect so many months of #spacehell in a row. Awesome to see y'all tackle some of the big bads. Also blowing my mind using hollowed prints to wire for LEDs, well played!
Absolutely amazing work!! Seeing insanly well done OSL is one of my favorite things about the hobby as it's something i cant do yet myself. And the slower reveals are SO nice!!!

Those turnarounds are JUICY! Honestly all 3 models look great. I use OSL on a few models but I think I might be looking into some LEDs for my larger vehicles
Hi guys, thank you for the reveals! I think if you want to showcase OSL, doing a reveal with colored lights is a bit of a waste... difficult to tell what comes from the OSL and what from the external pink light
That's why we had turnarounds with neutral lighting as well!
This video should have had each style presented on the same model, this way we can see the different finished projects next to each other. But this is just my opinion, no matter great job and great video.

Have you tried doing contrast/speed paint osl? Im painting ghost rider for mcp at the moment and find the contrast paints blend really well for fire effects

The two UV redemptor slot holes we did with glow green faces look great did a hole power join cable and teleport beacon still building the chargers and battery GW should have included in kits these days???????.

I hate pulling supports through small holes. i normally set up the entire area that hidden with little holes, then cut between the holes with a small hobby saw/nippers/xacto.

The LED version is cool and will work in the dark but I feel like, ironically, it had less of an impact on the model. I'm guessing to get the best out of LED on a model, the LED's can't be part of the character and would have to be shining on them but I can see that coming with some many more challenges. Jenn's OSL was awesome and Murray crushed it out of the park. I would argue the deciding factor between those two for me might have more to do with the model choice, thus the light source, rather than the OSL paint job. Either way all 3 are incredible and I would be proud to claim any one as my own.

fir the first model, i would've 3d printed in transparent a custom smoke piece that covered the light completely, then shaded it to make it look like smoke and fire.

LED lights win every time since osl is almost always ridiculously overdone. Unless the mini is supposed to be deep in a space hulk with no lights within a mile, light from stuff like screens simply won't register. Imagine someone looking at their phone while riding the bus. The light on the phone won't show their face, but most people do osl like the model has a flash bang going off in their hands.
It is spelled solder, but pronounced sawder. I figured we pronounced it that way because of you commonwealth talkers, so it's interesting to see a non-american make the mistake.
Please try to use a mask when spray painting! Otherwise excellent video just stay safe.
