A crouch poke with crouch cancel is faster than a standard crouch poke. Crouch canceling turns the entire crouch animation into a half-crouch animation.
Inputs - hold down the sprint button, tap L3, hit R1/RB, quickly tap L3 again and hit R1/RB.

It is a useful tech, but it can be difficult to use if you are inexperienced.
This is the equivalent of back stab fishing in ds1 😭

Fuck it with someone like this your best bet to counter is just to parry when they wiggle like that and don’t panic. Just make sure you can 1 shot so wield your flame misericordia and use the dagger talisman
That is quite risky, dude. I believe it is far safer to combat it if you know when to attack and when to stay away. If you're up against an opponent with low latency, you can strafe it. Because phantom hits are less likely to happen.
Umm nah u can't parry crouch pokes my guy. Serpent hunter HA is also cracked so good luck. Use qs/bhs and dual pikes or endure fists. Psgs like erdtree gs works ok too.

This tech only work on serpent hunter since it doesn’t have the slow crouch poke patch that colossal had
No hyper armor, parry-able, shorter range, less damage. It’s not the new CS crouch poke. Only think it shares is the frame data. Takes a good bit of skill to play well, and a good bit of skill to play against.

I played against someone who used this same technique, and I only landed a one hit after that I couldn't do a thing.

Unfortunately, it is not a move you can simply "counter." Don't panic roll, because they can easily vortex you. In addition, understand the fundamentals so you know when to attack and when to stay away.
u can strafe it, if they are playing locked-on: move across their center-line, from left to right. if ur quick enough you can get a backstab. the jump r1 can strafed too (if you are close enough), and ducked (if you are close enough). good players will know what u are trying, if u make it obvious, and will begin free-aiming... but even then most S-hunter players find locked-on play easier, so u can back off and try again.
probably the best way to combat it is to learn it. find someone to do a relaxed mirror-match with-preferably someone who is good with the weapon, and isn't trying to monopolise their knowledge about it-both of you giving one another time to try specific maneuvers. all the best!
