    I have all the stripology rulers and love them all. However, sometimes I still had a hard time getting
    straight strips. Once you demonstrated how to fold and align your fabric, it all made so much sense. Thank you for that. 😊

    I am a striopologist. I love this ruler. It makes cutting a breeze. You should have told people about the quarter inch mark to cut quarter inches. Great job, and great ruler. It is well worth the price.

      There is so much more I could have included... like turning the ruler and cutting squares with it! Or using the ruler when cutting different sized strips for a pattern ... I'd have an epicly long video if I tried to include all the ways this ruler can be used! 😆🥰

      Canny you do everything on the xl in place of the other ones she has listed on here ? Can’t you square just as well !? I thought the xl is the two rulers made on one but larger in case you wanna do more ? Can’t you use this for tiny blockes just as well ? I am trying to buy the very basic rulers to do about any job that I’d need instead of buying every ruler ! I think the new 12/1/2 by 24 1/2 and this ? Would you recommend any others please ? Ty

      @CarolinaMoore  3 года назад +1

      @@tonyastokley5165 the XL is larger, so it cuts larger fabric. But it also has a larger price tag. Most people would probably be fine with the regular sized one (not the mini, not the XL). But the XL will cut more strips at once and square up larger blocks, so it may be worth the extra investment if you think you'll want those features.

      @@tonyastokley5165 rulers depend a lot on the kind of quilts you will be making. If you're just doing strips, this would be your main ruler. I'd also add a 6.5 x 24 ruler which is super versatile, and you'd use when squaring up your quilt top. And, there is a ruler called the "Quick Trim" ruler which is 3.5 x 12.5 and much easier to use for small quick cuts because it isn't as bulky.
      Hope that helps!

      Yay for new rulers!! This comment made my day!! 🥰
      The medium (stripology squared) is a great place to start. If you love it, you can get the bigger one so you can cut more strips without having to re-position.
      Cutting yardage with the mini would be hard ... so I think the squared is an excellent choice. 🥰

    • @CarolinaMoore

      The biggest tip is to keep your rotary blade straight up-and-down. You don't want it at an angle where it is scraping across the ruler.
      And if you're pressing too hard, change your blade. A fresh blade should make it easier.

    • @CarolinaMoore
      @CarolinaMoore  3 года назад

      Hi! Do I show a machine in this video? I have several machines. Often in my videos I sew on a Baby Lock Jubilant. Her name is Saturday. She is a great machine for lots and lots of stuff. The machine on my sewing table is my Baby Lock Aria named Sunday. She is a little fancier and is usually my go-to machine when I'm not filming. Sometimes you'll see my Baby Lock Sashiko machine in videos. She is a specialty machine specifically for the Sashiko stitch. Her name is "Days that end in y"
      So, I sew on three machines. Because of their names I can say I sew on "Saturday, Sunday, and Days that end in y." 😆

    If you could have any ruler would this be it? Besides the 6x24? Also how are there mats? I’m new to this world and need a mat. The fishers one is yuck.

    • @CarolinaMoore
      @CarolinaMoore  3 года назад

      Oh man! That is a tough question! I want ALL the rulers!! 😆
      Though, for a beginner I like the 6x24, and then a 12.5" square. That will let you square up quilt blocks up to 12" finished.
      If you still have some budget, Creative Grids has a "Quick Trim Ruler" it is smaller and so easier to use when sub-cutting.
      My pink mat is a Wescott mat. I don't know where I got it, but it has lasted for years (though I might have warped it with my iron, so I do need to replace it). My grey one is one I was given by Cricut, and my green one was sent by Accuquilt.
      Creative Grids makes a mat, but I have not tried it yet. It is supposed to be awesome with the stripology ruler, though.
      Hope that helps!
