I folded a water soaked paper towel and laid it under the print head on a folded sheet of dry printer paper. Then I closed the print head and reinstalled the waste ink bin and closed the printer with the power cord removed. Did this about 10 times to fix a blank streak running down the center of printed pages on a 476dw. Wiped print head dry and allowed printer to dry out a few minutes. Printed flawlessly without another head cleaning or recovery. Dry ink clog on the head caused blank or white streaks on printed pages.
My HP Pagewide Pro MFP 477dw just started doing this. With the blank streak going down the center of the page. I will have to try your method and see if it helps. I was thinking too must be a clogged printer head.
How can I clean the black print head on HP 5525? Tried paper towel under print heads and dripped 91% alcohol into the top of the print head about 5 times. Paper towel showed some black ink but did not solve problem of no black printing.
it's a great video, but like all instructions it magically skips a crucial step - THE ROLLER. it's suddenly super clean. What is the magic that achieves this? Is it called 'a woman' ?
I wasn't able to get it to stay white until I found where the gunk was and held it open in that position while running it under water. (I am a woman btw 🙂)
@@brendalg4 having a hard time with cleaning my sponges, they are filled with alot of ink and the water doesn"t seem to change color when i rinse out the pads. Whats the secret?
@destroyer4544 I would think if the water is clear, you're not going to be able to get the sponges any cleaner. They probably get permanently stained eventually. I stopped when I got the roller to stay white... I still had black water coming out. The printout has the wrong colors... I am not sure if the printhead is clogged or no good. So no reason to put work into getting the sponges white if I don't know if I can get the printhead working. Edit: Wish I could post a picture of how I held the unit.. I don't think I can describe it.
@@brendalg4 Ok i will try to clean the roller because i forgot that one. I dried the sponges but still black sponges. Will clean the roller and try again on my PageWide.

I keep seeing ink on the paper towel. Does that mean it is still dirty? Or is it supposed to come out clear at some point?
Did you replace that roller or cleaned it up? If no explanations... at least use some subtitle explanations. Thanks
well I wiped it, and thats why Im here. Now to find how to fix it.
Sorry for the magic clean roller! :) The waste ink tank or cartridge was cleaned in sink with reverse osmosis water.
how do you take the outer covering off without breaking it to see the internal parts? I need to change the print head module.
